Took that evening walk last night w/teen daughter 9/10 mile around the neighborhood in 20 minutes. It was really humid and we were sweating by the time we made it back home...but she talked the whole 20 minutes! :D

Hubby not receptive to joining the plan THIS week - it's County Fair week and he works nights 12 hour shifts there, plus some day hours helping his brother w/whatever needs doing at the fair grounds...he doesn't want to "think" about a diet under the stress of the swing/double shift week. That's okay - it'll still be here next week!

Took a 30 minute lunch walk w/coworker today - very warm, but breezy, so we walked in a covered but open air garage area. Looking forward to using the meal planner for next week's menu ideas and grocery list...that'll be new!

W1D5 - Went to Pole dancing and did dance routine 3 times, several rounds around the pole but ran into trouble trying to hang on to the pole. Need to take weight lifting before continuing!
W1D6 - Walked 10 minute. All shoulder, upper and lower back muscles are not happy. Decided not to push it today!!

W1D2- tried to hoola hoop...I am 41 and cannot get it to stay up for longer than 2 seconds...my abs hurt! LOL

Starting today! Starting slow - more reading and printing than working...

Took 15 minute walk at lunch with a co-worker at a 19 minute mile pace. It was hot and we quit before our 20 minutes was up!!

Hoping to initiate a 10-20 minute walk around neighborhood w/teen nightly after dinner. A walk around our immediate neighborhood is 9/10 of a mile. Good time to discuss the day, right?? :D

Week 1 day 1(yesterday) I went tyo the gym and walked about 45 mins in the pool. I've had no exercise for a long time. My back hurts today but I'm going back this afternoon. I may stick to just 30 mins. today and let my back catch up to what we're doing here. I know me, if I get to hurting too much I'll take a day off then 2 then 3. Then I'm back to where I was in the first place.

Week 1 Day 2... Blew the diet because of driving ALL DAY. I came home today from my parents house but I did eat a nice healthy salad for dinner. :) Didn't get much exercise in today but will start full force tomorrow with it. I did get my food tracked for today and yesterday. Got all my water in too. Have a great evening!

It wasn't much, but I got in 5 minutes of cardio. Blew the eating plan out of the water with Subway breakfast sandwich and cookies. Haven't gone over my calories for the day but man...what do you eat for 330 calories that's left? XD

At this moment, I am on the "injured" list. Started lifting DH's curl bar since it is just heavy enough for me to do that as a press. Well, I messed up my shoulder, upper spine and neck. I have been seeing a chiropractor for 5 weeks now. Since I stopped exercising because of the pain (and dr's suggestion) I have gained 5 lbs. I am hoping that with some of the exercises listed on here I can ease back into it and not cause more damage. The pain is still there with a radiant pain going down my arm. Can't wait for this to be OVER!! LOL I was feeling really good yesterday and mowed my front yard...yeah, shouldn't have done that. *sigh*

W1D1- mowed 30 minutes

I could only do one of her reps I was NOT goint to redo it those chair push ups??? I don't have any room to hold the chair and forget getting back up I do table push ups instead.

Treated myself to a fast food breakfast. Would have been okay with that scheduled meal but blew dinner with a buffet.
Did run 30 minutes and 15 boxing on the Wii.

Working on a 10K running app. Ran for 40 minutes - felt great! Used greek yogurt for my smoothie - I love the texture.

Week 1 day 2 no exercise due to pulled back muscle from pole dancing class.

Week 1 Day 4. Doing very well still! Today we are going biking on the rail trail so I know I will be logging at least 10 miles. Tracking my food is sometimes difficult but it is a systeme that really works. Hope you all have an energetic day!!

Week 1 Day 4. Grandbabies back home with DD and DSIL. Contractors here. Less stress. Strength training was more like lifting granddaughters ( 8mos and 2yrs). Still achy from the pushups on Thursday.

week 1 day 3 very sore and being driven crazy by contractors. Grandbabies spending hte night tonight and the house is much less than childproof right now. Feel quite stressed. However, I am keeping to my eating plan. May not get in as much exercise as planned.

Hi everyone, my name is J and today is my first day on this challenge. I have also just gotten back into exercising so I need to start out slow. To help me I started the 10 minute a day challenge, so I will be doing a minimum of 10 min a day exercise. I plan on building my time slowly. I hope to get to know each of you as we start this journey

8/24 15 min walk
8/25 ride bike 15 min.

FBS was 118 this morning. Today is day 4. I have walked 15 min on days that I work 12 hrs, but have been walking for 30 min or longer on days off. I also hit the stationary bike for 15 min today. That would be doable after work so I might continue that. It might help those glucose levels which seem to go up at night though I am not eating late.

Hi Debs,
RA is Rheumatoid Arthritis a pretty yucky chronic condition with lot's of pain and joint problems that can lead to all kinds of bad stuff. I am one some pretty high powered meds to get it under control at this time. I have been pretty depressed about all the illness these past few years but it is time to try to get my life back one day at time. I really think that SP can help me with my goals and help to keep me motivated when I feel like giving up.

Welcome back! I just started again too and I am determined to meet my goals this time. What is RA? I am pre-diabetic with high blood pressure and cholestorol--which i haven't been taking very seriously until now--huge weight increase of more than 50 lbs the last couple of years. Let's hang in there together with this great team!! I am on my second day and feel better all ready!!

Hi All,
I am new (again) to Spark People,but this time I think I'm going to make it. I joined this boardbecause I wasrecently diagnosed with type2 diabetes. On top of RA. Oh well. Some days are very challenging and I know that I can not do this alone. I am looking forward to the encouragement I will receive on this board and hopefully I can also be an inspiration to others along the way too.

Week 1 day 2 went for a 50 minute walk around the block with the hubby. The 15 minutes of cardio was harder than I thought it was going to be lol. I think I'll sleep better tonight.

Day 7
First week finished. Tracking food daily really helps. Today in range for everything! 30 minutes on elliptical 5 days this week. Missed fasting glucose this morning but later in day it was 120 then before dinner it was 70. Very pleased with how well its going. :)

First check-in, but am on day 4
my A1C last week was 9.8, but it is down from 15 in May, so am working on it!!
Tracking food intake is really helping.....yikes, I need to really be aware of Calories!!

Started this challenge on 8/18 went on vacation 8/19...not too smart, was I.....did get my exercise in and set my goal but nothing else. I guess that means Week 2 is really Week 1 for me unless someone knows how to reset the start date
