I am new to sparkpeople and beginning week 1 with a goal of losing 1-2 pounds per week.
I also want to get in a workout of at least 15 minutes per day which is very difficult with my current holiday work schedule.
I have lost over 40 pounds since April 1, and I am looking for inspiration for losing the last 20 or so.

Goals - here goes :)

My ultimate goal is no longer need to take Metformin. No more meds would be awesome! I know with that will come weight loss, but the focus needs to be to get off of the meds.

I have managed to keep my A1C at 5.8 for 6 months now. It was 10.3 when I was first diagnosed with this horrible disease 10 years ago. It is a huge undertaking though, I test 6 times a day and use long acting and short acting insulin both.
.
Have gotten my BG too low several times, but I am protecting my kidneys so the trade off is worth it for me. It is a choice; either keep my sugar under control or do dialysis.

I'm going to test glucose as soon as I wake up, even if it seems "too early". Testing just before I go to sleep will be done each night.

I have been dealing with a lot of medical issues this last year w/ the most recent an A1C well above normal. It finally occurred to me that I had better take this seriously, that this disease does have serious consequences. My goal is to bring my A1C back down, my sugars down, reduce my medication and to become more active. Weight loss would be an awesome side effect!

One day, one step at a time!

My doctor wants me to take medication for triglycerides on top of what I'm already taking for high blood pressure and cholesterol. I want to get serious about my diet and exercise so I don't have to keep taking more medication. I need to lose 40 lbs. to get into the normal range for my height. My goals are to eat healthier and track what I eat, drink 8 glasses of water every day, and make cardio and strengthening exercises a regular part of my life instead of something I only think about sometimes.

I have been told I'm pre-diabetic and some days the signs my body is giving me really scare me. My overall goal is to get down to a size 14, but my immediate challenge is controlling my energy levels and lower back and leg pain. I think this challenge will start me on the right track.

My goals are to finish the daily/weekly assignments on time, complete the diet and exercise components and stick to the goals assigned as well as work on my future goals.

What we believe we will receive ....

My goal is to meet this challenge head on this time, to follow the Action Plan for each week and then DO IT!!!! Not just follow along but complete each week and prepare each week for action. To get the diabetes under control and lose 100 pounds by the end of next year 2014.
To exercise and just overall do what I started out to do long ago. One week and one step at a time. Exercising best I can and getting diabetes back in control once and for all. Life is short and I want to be as healthy as possible for my senior years.

If the Lord brings you to it He will take you through it....

My goal is to continue to bring numbers into acceptable range by:
1. Drinking those 8 cups of water a day.
2. Exercising daily (including some resistance training).
3. Making permanent changes in my diet that will lead to a life of healthy eating.
4. Lose the necessary pounds and keep my weight in a normal weight range to lower health risks.

My goal for this challenge is to follow the plan so that I can avoid diabetes. My exercise is pretty good during the week but weekends fall apart; and I have a bad snack habit. So I hope to follow the plan and change some bad habits and add good ones. Cheers to us all! emoticon

This weeks goals is to walk everyday with my dogs at least 30 minutes a day! I've been having keeping myself going when it comes to exercising, and eating right lately, and I believe it might have to do something with my Thyroid, since that is what caused me to become pre-diabetic (weight gain). So I want to exercise more for sure so I can gain back that energy that I haven't been having in the past few days.

Over the past year I have been changing my habits and exercising more than ever. I have neglected my diabetes management plan though. I'm wanting to get my numbers under control so maybe I will lose weight.

New to group. Received my blood work back and my glucose was just over the high mark. so I want to get it under control before I get diabetes.
I had hurt myself and didn't do a lot so I gained 17 pounds of what I had lost.
I am recovering from knee surgery and will get better every day.
