I get the same thing! Today was W2D1 for me and the last couple bursts of jogging were actually painful. I ate hours before I worked out, and only had some sips of water while working out, but I got this pain like my whole upper torso was on fire. I do try to remember to breathe steadily but I think it's my lungs that hurt. I did feel what little bit I had in my stomach moving around though, maybe the kashi I had for breakfast wasn't done processing?

Also, don't eat more than 100cals with in two hours prior. Your body's blood supply is competing with digesting and working your muscles, that's why cramps happen. So be sure to eat afterward. :)

I thought it may have something to do with water. While I am jogging I barely drink any water, but it may be from the water I drink before I start. I will try to cut down right before and see if that helps. Thank you!

Do you drink a lot of water right before or during your run? That always causes me stomach pain if I drink too much. I try to just sip the water. During races, I sometimes even sip a little bit and then spit out the rest. Just enough to wet my whistle!

Finally a response. Thank you. I actually had a cramp-free day yesterday!! It was so much nicer. I will definitely work on my breathing though!

It is usually caused by your breathing, shallow breathing. Work on regulating your breathing and it should work itself out. Here is an article I found on Runner's World. www.runnersworld.com/article/1,7120,

Hello. I finished W2D2 today. I am doing fine with the jogging, in fact, today was the first day that I thought I might be able to handle it (I had to slow my speed, though I am not burning as many calories as when I walk the same time at a faster pace).

I am having an issue with the left side of my stomach cramping when I jog though. This is making it hard to do. What can I do about this?
