I decided to do the walk at 3.5 and the jog at 4.7. That felt right.

For my second workout I might up the pace, if it feels good; I don't want to break myself, but I do want to challenge myself, so I'll push a little more each time and hopefully find what is a good challenge for when I feel great and for when I feel tired too.

Whatever you are comfortable with is the best. It is good to give a little push at a time just to challenge your body but when it is causing pains you will need to apply the breaks.

Wow! 6.0 is great. I'm just starting out. I am doing 3.4 for the walk and 4 for the jog. When I did this two years ago, I was able to work up to around 5 for the jog.

How should I feel when I'm walking and jogging?
Should I feel challenged in the jog and relaxed in the walk?
When it comes to the talk test, where should I be in both the walk and the job part of the program?

I use the treadmill and know that I can handle up to a 6.0 jog on the treadmill for one minute, but I'm really pushing myself. Should I use this speed for my job pace?
