W1D2 was definitely harder for me but it was a combination of a few different factors: on D1 I had a boost of energy from helping my elderly neighbor who had fallen and hit her head (btw, I saw them this morning and she is doing fine); on D1 I was well rested from the weekend but on D2 I am coming off a 16,000+ step day; and on D1 it was overcast and looked as though it would rain but on D2 the sun came out early and was on full blast during my entire training. I'm going to get started earlier now that the time has changed and I'm going to concentrate more on strength training on my off days. Overall, I'm feeling really good!

Try to rest between the running days Lizzy. You should be much better and stronger to face the next challenge.

Day2 of wk 1 was a lot harder for me as well. Day 1 went by fast and easy. Day 2... AHHH. I did do it later in the morning rather than the cool of the morning. Maybe that had an effect. I was also not as rested as I was for Day 1. Maybe a combo of factors here....

I thought day 2 might be a little hard, as I could hardly get out of bed let aIone walk, yesterday but came home from work today, got on my workout clothes and on the treadmill I went. (it's still 100 degrees outside). Actually the first minute of running actually felt good. Also my breathing wasn't as labored. I think I'm doing pretty good, but they always say the 3rd day is the worse. Only time will tell, but trying to keep my positive attitude.! Good Luck everyone!

For W1D2, I walked & jogged down our dirt road with the dog. I won't do that again. Tyler kept wanting to stop and smell the roses, and water them too if he felt they needed it. Using google maps, I have mapped out a paved route in our village. Today I will check it out. Living in a rural area has it's challenges.

I let a couple days go between TD1 & 2. I felt a bit winded, but other than that ok.

A goal without a plan is just a wish.

I'm at W1D2 as well, and it was tough. I was probably tired from working all day. Had done day 1 on the weekend when I was well rested. I also walk up n down stairs all day (in work shoes-ugh!) so that makes my legs tired. I'm going to stick to it--no doubt about it! But I'm also getting some soreness in my knee. Only one. ?? It clicks when I walk, but not always. I think I should ice it. I def. rest, and haven't been doing exercise every single day--but those steps at work--whoa! I know losing weight will help my knees, so I'm going to keep an eye on it--but won't stop my training!!! Good luck everyone!! emoticon

~~Good luck on each step you take toward your goals & best wishes for a sparkly day!!

REST...I noticed when I started I was walking everyday and training every other day I was tried to quick. Now I do my 5k training on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays. What I do is I still walk each day but on training days I tend to do more strength training then cardio that way am not all worn out to do my jog/walk also I give myself at least a day of rest so that is what I do on Sundays no cardio, no strength training, no 5k training I will take a short walk in the evening and that's it. Giving your body a rest day really helps with engery and stamina. emoticon

For me I HAVE to eat something 1/2 hour before the walk/run....if I don't my stamina really suffers....Keep at it...even the challenging days end up keeping you feeling motivated and happy when you complete them!

Has anyone else experienced W1D2 being harder than W1D1?
So far my week has consisted of a 2 mile walk on Saturday, W1D1 on Sunday, 1 mile walk on Monday, and W1D2 on Tuesday.
I'm wondering if today's struggles are because I haven't given myself a "rest" day yet. Any suggestions?
