I know October is over - but I wanted to check in. Things are crazy and of course the Holiday's are drawing near. I love this time of year, but I've got to make sure I don't get lost in all the cookies, cakes, pies, candy... :)

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been MIA recently, but I am back now! It's been a crazy week or so for me... we are dog sitting at my in law's house, so I've been away from home and that has made it hard for me to stay on track with everything! But, we are going home over the weekend, and I'm already planning how to get myself ready for next week!

Andrea, I think your idea is great! I have not been very good at tracking for this challenge either, so keeping it as just a chat is perfect for me! :)

Andrea I am fine with that. I have to be honest - you are not the only one. I've been so busy and I'm already keeping up with my BLC challange so by the time I get all that stuff tracked I am out of time... It seems the website is so slow lately!

I do want to keep the chat open - I like having this thread and support with you ladies. I don't like putting stuff out there everywhere and this is one place I feel more comfortable if I need to vent or "cry"...

Hey girls!

Been a good week so far. I did LC1 yesterday and Insanity today. So confession..I haven't really been filling out my challenge thread which I'm ok with. I was wondering if you guys would just like to keep this as a check in post and not have a challenge. We can just check in every couple of days and report progress. I'm kind of burnt out on challenge and adding points..etc.

What do you think?

Andrea - I think with all the stress I've been under with the permit (and now another big project) it's got my system so out of wack!

I've been busy and eating has been good but my workouts are zero right now. Had hoped to make it last night to the gym or something but got held up at work for something due today and of course they gave it to me at the last minute. We still have football (yeah, we won round 1 of tournaments) so tonight and Thursday I won't get a chance then either. I'll get there, I promise!!!

Hey ladies!

I got up 5/5 mornings this week again. I'm very proud of myself b/c I'm starting a nice little streak.

Kristie- OMG that is so funny..I started on 10/19 also! Fun stuff isn't it? I started and then had to go to my horse riding lesson. It was fun but I really wanted to lay at home on the couch!

Ashton- Glad the tips are helping. If I think of anymore I will let you know!

Hope everyone is having a great Wed! I'm glad it's half over already. This is D day for a big permit we have been prepping for months. I've been super busy trying to get it ready for final review... that's where it is now and then it's printing and assembly time so the agency can have it in hand first thing in the am... Can't wait to get this one out the door!!!

Haven't had time to get workouts in and Auntie Flo decided to show up yesterday so I'm tired, cranky and just feeling exhausted! I'll get back to it soon though..

Good morning, ladies!

Kristie -- I'm so sorry about your bad day! I know what you mean about guys... for my hubby, he gets that way every time a new iPhone comes out! A few weeks ago, he actually set an alarm for 2:45 a.m. so he could get up and order the new one. Of course that meant that the lights were turned on, and he wanted to talk to me about it! I like to think that he just gets so excited about whatever it is that he can't see how it bothers me. I hope everything is better today!

Andrea -- thank you for all the great tips about morning workouts! I struggle a lot with the whole "I don't have an hour, so what's the point" thing, so I needed to hear that it's okay to do only 30 minutes! You're totally right about something is better than nothing!

Well, I'm off to get some reading done before my classes this afternoon. Hope everyone has a great day!

Afternoon ladies. You won't believe this but I was actually glad I got to come to work today. I'm so upset with DH right now I'm just glad to not be around him. He bought a newer truck that had the motor blown (he got it for a great price) but the downside is that when DH gets something in his head, he's obsessed with it. He only gets one weekend off a month and this was that weekend. Instead of us doing the things we planned everything got cancelled and he spent it on fixing the truck. I didn't get to see him hardly at all. Yesterday I finally went to see him at the garage for a bit but he ended up not coming home at all last night so I'm a little peeved, hurt, frustrated, etc. Why is it that men can totally obsess over something like that and not realize why you get upset even after you tell them? I just don't get it. He really made me feel pretty inadequate and unwanted. I know I shouldn't feel that way but I do. He told me he was sorry this morning and I'm sure he's sincere but I don't think he gets it. :(

Well I'm off to get my lunch heated up - just a few more hours and time to go home. I am hoping to get some sleep tonight since I was up almost all last night. I'm really just exhausted - emotionally and physically. Sorry to be such a bummer today...

Hey ladies!

I've had a pretty good weekend. Yesterday was lots of fun..Ryan and I went to cedar point. We walked all day! Today was more of a chilling day. I watched football and did laundry.

I'm planning on getting up in the morning everyday this week again. It was an awesome sense of accomplishment when you do something like that.

Here are some more tips:

- Don't sit unrealistic expectations/set yourself up for failure. I would love to get up and workout for 60+ minutes every morning but I know that's not a realistic expectation. I have from about 6:30-7:15 to exercise. So that is why I divided P90X in half and have been doing half of the workouts. But you know what..I stuck with it, I have seen definite results and I have quit that all or nothing attitude which was holding me back. So if a half hour is all you have then rearrange or do whatver you have to do so your plan includes only a 1/2 hour!

- Remember something is better than nothing..this kind of goes along w/ the one above but I used to think that b/c I couldn't do all of P90X that I was somehow failing. But in all reality I was failing by doing nothing. So what if I split the workouts in half if that works for me? I had to get over my own mind games about that and have been successful ever since! So if you get up and do 10 minutes every morning that is still awesome b/c you are doing what you set out to do which is get up in the morning.

I guess that is all I have. I think if you really want to start getitng up in the morning and you realize that is will make your life easier and your day better than you will. Now that I've been getting up my nights are alot more relaxing b/c I'm not trying to jam everything into them. I guess you have to become aware of when it's best for your schedule to fit the exercise. Honestly for a while it was at night but now it's in the morning!

I hope all that stuff helps and I didn't babble on. That is the sort of stuff I wish someone had told me. You really do kind of have to change your mindset from "I think I might want to" to "I'm going to."

Happy Saturday! I don't know about y'all, but I am so so so glad that it's the weekend :)

Not much is on the calendar for me, which I'm fine with... lots of studying and football watching, for sure. We're going to dinner with my family tonight to celebrate my sister getting into nursing school (YAY!), but decided to cook out at home instead of going out. I told my mom that was perfect for me because it's definitely easier to eat healthier when you know what you're cooking.

Andrea, thanks for the tips on working out in the morning! I used to do it when I was in undergrad and didn't have class until 10 or so (meaning I would have to get up at like 7:30 or 8) but it's a whole other ballgame when I have to get up around 6 or earlier to do it. I do remember that I felt so much better throughout the day, so I think I'm going to try to get back into that!

Hey ladies!

I went rollerskating last night w/ my friends..it was tons of fun! Then this morning I did p90x back/biceps. Tomorrow Ryan and I are going to cedar point so that will be a fun day. And then Sunday I have my race for Riley but that will probably be a walk.

Ashton- Getting up in the morning to exercise is definitely a process that you kind of have to train yourself for. I am just now to the point where I get up 3-5 days a week and even that depends on the week. I do however find it much easier. I eat better, I'm better at work, I'm happier and it's nice at the end of the workday to be able to "chill out" w/o having to worry about fitting in an hour workout.

Here are some tips:

1. Sleep in your workout clothes

2. Give yourself rewards. I literally have a calendar just for morning workouts and a pack of star stickers. If I workout I get a star. It sounds ridiculously stupid but I love looking at my multi colored star calendar!
I also made a goal thing on spark under "other goals" so I can track it.

I will write more later..time to leave work!

I used to workout in the mornings and really loved it but now that I go to the gym I just can't make it work with the kids. Of course with hubby working swing shifts I'm becoming too much of a night owl not being able to sleep when he's not home :(

I struggle with the Holidays period. Mine is mostly stress. Family fights between whose house we MUST go to and just bs stuff really but it kills me every year. Hubby's bday is at the end of the month, then Thanksgiving, then DS's bday in December, Christmas, and DD's bday so yes, I'm right there with you ladies! We are going to have to root each other on to get through the next few months :)

Happy Thursday, everyone! (Almost to FRIDAY! Yay!)

Andrea, I know exactly what you mean about the winter being the time when you struggle... it seems like that for me, too! With my hubby's birthday in November, then Thanksgiving, Christmas, and my birthday in January, it seems like there are a few months there were it's a ton of celebrating and a million more things to do! I'm also impressed that you are working out in the morning! Any tips on how to get in the habit of doing that?! I'm definitely a morning person, but for some reason it is super hard for me to get out of bed to workout. I feel extremely guilty about that because I have a treadmill in my BASEMENT, so it's not like I have to go far! :)

Good evening ladies... barely have had time to breath today but wanted to check in and say hello. Things have been crazy this week and today was even worse! No time to exercise tonight but that's ok I had a workout by cleaning out my flower beds. I've been wanting to do it forever but not had time. Had some time tonight and decided that I was going to skip my workout so I could get it done. I count it as an hour and half of cardio though..lol

Hey ladies!

I'm glad to see we are all back together. I've been doing really well this month which I'm happy about b/c October is kind of the gateway to winter which is when I do my worst. I've been getting up in the morning to exercise and it is working out great!

Anyways..I hope we can check in often, but I understand if it's not everyday. I have to go put some grades on the template for my eating.

Finally got a chance to grab the info for the challenge. Yesterday was kind of busy but was mostly stressful. I did well though - I worked out my frustration at the gym instead of the kitchen :)
