Hi Sandy. Great job on your two weeks. Today is day 8 and I feel pretty good, Thanks for the tips on 30 days. I just really feel if I could get to 30 days I would feel more in control! I have found lately when I do imbibe, it is usually at some sort of event that romanticizes drinking. I will keep pushing.

Hope all you ladies out there are doing well!

Great job everyone!!

I made it past day 2 yesterday and it was HARD! Today is day 3 and I'm guessing will be just as hard if not worse. I have such great willpower all day but as soon as I get in my car after work it just flies out the window.

I will be strong this time and do it! Haven't had a long AF stretch since January. Funny thing so far is that no one even notices I'm not drinking. My wine is not on the counter and my glass is in the cabinet. Maybe they have gotten so used to it they don't even see it anymore?? I don't know.....

Hope everyone has a great AF day!!

Hello to all of you!
4 days AF (6/10-6/13) and feeling good. WONDAWOMAN2, I really need to cut down on sugar! Good for you. I read somewhere that when you cut out alcohol, sugar cravings hit. Bummer.

JAMINURSE - about success with 30 day stretches: I first tried this last year, on the day I hit 50. I thought I'd only make it a week, but I guess my stubbornness finally paid off and I did the 30 days. I tell EVERYONE around me that I'm doing it. I also start the 30 on a significant date: my b-day, husband's b-day, brother's, etc. I know that it's not forever, and I plan a special bottle of wine when the 30 days are up.

BUT - I have to admit: when I do drink, it's often too much, especially at home, when I know I don't have to drive anywhere.

Let's keep on working to improve!

Hello ladies! I am currently on day 6 AF. I made it 20 days last month. I am getting my 30 days in.

Wonda, those flipping headaches are so weird. I get them everytjme. I have tried so many things to fight them. They seem to subside around day 10.

Mame, it will get better, days 2 and 3 are the hardest for me.

Sandy, you have had much success with 30 days. How have you mananged to consistently get those 30 day stretches in?

Go team! We can do this!

I began a 20 day reset on 6/7! No alcohol since then, and no sugar. I had a headache the first five days, a weird headache, almost like a sinus headache. Finally thought: sugar withdrawal! I'd had a bunch of sugar leading up to my reset, so it makes sense. I'm in the clear now, but that certainly was interesting.

Lost almost 4 pounds....that first week is always the most dramatic, isn't it?

Hang in there, guys! I'll do the same!

Starting a major RESET!! I'm on day 2 AF and I feel horrible! I feel like I got ran over by a truck and am soooo tired. I didn't think my body had gotten so dependent on alcohol. Pretty scary!

Just a quick check-in....I need to reset, too! Pulled the "30 Day Sobriety Solution" out yesterday. Not sure when to begin, as the kid and I are headed to Portland, OR this Monday for a week, but I know I need a long AF streak. Sleep has been terrible lately.

I restarted the book a few days ago. Today I am on day 13! Day 12 talks about our beliefs and how they affect our subconscious mind and therefore, our actions. This is a theme that is common among several resources I have read on cutting back alcohol.

Saying, "no to no", is something I am truly working on. The negative approach has no been helpful. I am really going to focus on the positive approach. The truth is I do feel happier without the cloud of the alcohol.

Have a wonderful day all! emoticon

had wine and pizza with my daughters on Saturday and then brunch the next day- one of them went out with her friends and was hungover on Sunday with the familiar refrain of I am never drinking again. emoticon
and yes it is about balance but I look forward to my own 100 days and next month I can be with a 30 day reset as part of it.
I might blog about what I expect the 100 days will be- meaning a commitment to exercise and clean eating.
I have had plenty of summer parties and 4th of July celebrations with alcohol both mod and DD times. I look at this boot camp as a gift to myself.
I liked seeing the 140's but do not expect to be there for my initial weigh in but the scale is not really a part of the 100 days anyway- it is all about lifestyle and then seeing what or when indulgences come back in.
So- I am lucky to not have my car lol meaning my DD needed it and I am here doing a deep cleaning of fridge and making food so as not to waste stuff.

I was so proud of myself for hemming a pair of pants that were too short!!!

Have not heard of Hamilton. Youtube? will go check...

Balance IS key, Em. Read your blog and had to chuckle to myself...I've been making merry way too much in May myself. But ready to tone it down.

I've been having fun with exercise and shaking things up there. Yesterday I went to the gym and did 30 min on the recumbent bike....something different. Probably a walk to day. I've been listening a lot to the soundtrack of "Hamilton". Wow!

Today a hair appt and planning a healthy dinner for the fam. No wine. Had enough. Blech.

Have a good one, gals!

Balance is key! so is consistency so I am going to tilt things over to focus on health but will also include artwork in my days too as that is healthy in other aspects
My May has been ok as I have reconnected with friends and family but just indulged too much in the wine and some foods like a rib eye steak for my birthday. I do indulge though. I won't eat pigs or fish or lamb or veal because it bothers me and chicken makes me feel bad but red meat once in awhile I do - for now. We are over run by deer in this area sometimes so I do eat venison as well although I have not had it in some time

I am like you, WW re: I love healthful, good food, and really don't care for "junk" foods.
Did you read the article I posted on the main page last night?
It's just common sense, really.
We want to live a healthy, happy life, and find balance we can live with.

I am committed to planning my meals from today (within reason), and only drinking alcohol on limited occasions.
Today is a reset/reset for me. :)

I'm going to MOM today to buy lots of organic veggies.

Have a good day, Maureen

Maureen, thanks for your message. :)

Yes, I'm working on those. I read the NYT article and it was sobering. Really made me think about my relationship with food, and with exercise.

I am rethinking the focus of my own reset. Truth is that I eat well, making mostly healthy choices. I enjoy food, and I enjoy healthy food a lot! It's not at all a chore to eat healthily. When I think of how I ate as a kid (sugary cereals, soda, TV dinners) and how I slowly grew to love veggies, cut out soda, no processed food, it's pretty miraculous and something I'm quite proud of, now that I think of it!

So I wonder if my focus should instead be on exercise. In my life, that is much more inconsistent. I'm fit, but could definitely be fitter.

Hmmm....I'm going to mull this over some more.....

Have a wonderful day gals, and Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks for the reminder about patience, Maureen. Something that does not come easily to me. Particularly when I'm under the weather or just generally out of sorts, which is when I most need it! Wtf? Woke up today with a sore throat and low fever. I'm just generally out of sorts today. So I got some sushi & miso soup for lunch and watched some of Ken Burns' "The Roosevelts". I love Ken Burns.

Practicing patience...I will bounce back, of course....until then.......rest & breathe......

Em, I like your do too. And I saw that 80's pic of you in your photos. Hawt!!

Nice do, Em. :)

Sorry about the polyps, WW! You've gotta keep on top of these kind of things, though.

Did you read the article about the contestants on The Biggest Loser in the NY Times? Interesting, and, a good reason for us to be patient with ourselves, and our bodies, i think.
I know that it's hard for me to get below 140 these days since I've given up cycling. I used to cycle long distances several years ago, and weighed around 130 at the time. I just don't have the interest to build up that kind of endurance again.
Cutting down the booze, and, following a sensible eating plan is where I am now.

Still, the weight hasn't shifted since last week. I had a few beers over the weekend - prompted by my upset over my daughter (plus, my DH encouraged me!!! LOL!).

I teach a Pilates class tonight to about 20 mostly young women. :) I enjoy their energy.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Wondawoman- hope your belly is better. I'm sorry about the every 5 years.

I did have some red last night but feeling fine about the wine. Need to avoid beer for a long time I think as it leads to weight gain.
I have a day of catching up on some things and organizing some stuff
No health insurance but payments have been being made- so I rescheduled physical for June for now and hope to get to the bottom of this...

Ugh, I may end up having wine tonight, gals. Just a weird day, and having tummy troubles again. My polyps were benign (yay) but the pre-cancerous kind, so every 5 years I gotta get scoped. Happy to be healthy. But think I may go for the vino....

May the fourth be with you too WW!
I got my walk in today and just got my hair done- bangs all across instead of sid swept- I like. I did buy a bottle of wine and might have later. I got a catchup day tomorrow and bowling on Friday and then a weekend of partying!
My eldest asked me if I wanted to jump out of a plane on Mothers day...tandem but I said no and of course ze (gender neutral pronoun- still learning...)...anyhow yeah I guess I chickened out but I sure hope the jump goes well! yikes!

Clean day yesterday, tho no workout. Getting stuff done in the morning, then helped the kid study. She really appreciated it and found it very helpful. Basically, I sat and listened to her review out loud, kept her on task, etc.

Same thing today, about to have a walk then lunch with a friend....going to pick his brain about a project I'm developing so I'm taking him out for sushi lunch. They have a poke salad that's divine so I can skip the rice.

Getting ready for my long walk, but it's so foggy and dark this morning. Makes it hard to get going. But I will! I like to listen to Spotify or have a phone chat with a friend while walking.

Make it a great day, y'all! And May the 4th be with you...

Hello, hello! Had a super-clean day yesterday and feeling good! 50 minute walk plus staying within calorie range, all healthy foods. Sippin' a green smoothie now and plotting the day: dentist appt., helping kid study for her AP history test this week (I haven't helped her study in years but the poor thing is freaking out), planning trip to OR with kid to check out Reed college. We were going to drive all the way up, checking out a few campuses on our way, but I think we'll break it up. Too much to do in a week. Weirdly, I've lived in SoCal for 20+ years but have never driven up the coast. Flew to San Francisco a couple times for work, but that's it! Crazy.

Maureen, I don't like Wal-mart either. They've been kept out of LA for so long, but not anymore. There's a new one being built near me; I'll be driving right past on my way to my beloved (and way more tolerant) Target.

Emily, that project with your friend sounds cool! I learned to sew as a kid. It has sure come in handy from time to time: making pillow covers, Halloween costumes, curtains.

Oh, and the thought of wine didn't occur to me AT ALL last night! Nice. I think that 30-Day Sobriety thing really helped, even tho I didn't finish it. I really feel that, like you guys, I can take it or leave it most times.

Have a swell Tuesday!

Maureen- don't know if it is a debate I have had coffee 2 days in a row now! lol love it...but if I keep having it I will have a tolerance. Anyhow I think little things that make us happy are to be cherished as long as not harmful so that sounds like a good cup of coffee is that for you

I hope you and your DD will get to have a good talk soon.
And I'm at the same place mentally with alcohol as you are I think- that is I am not really thinking about it. There are a few things coming up this month where I might have a drink. I have a dear friend I have lunch with and every once in awhile we have a drink at lunch- or we don't. Champagne toasts are some of my favorite things to do...a cold beer on the 4th of July or a dark and stormy with my friend .... I like where I am with this and want to stay here!!!

here's to a terrific Tuesday! I'm working on the advent calendar tomorrow with my friend MJ. She is a devout Catholic and I am an atheist but we are having a really great time doing this project. It is coming out very nice and when it is done I will photograph it. I am giving it to my MIL. I get to pick out from her huge stash of material to create scenes such as Jonah and the whale. Love working with the different colors and images. She has been sewing since she was 5. I might learn.... not sure yet.. and I am teaching her some design things that she did not know about.

Plan on getting my workout in before I see her so off to pick out some DVD's.

Hi, friends!
I love the energy, and enthusiasm here! Thanks, Emily, and WW especially!

We've just returned from Deep Creek Lake. it was lovely out ther, and, I'm looking forward to working on my photos 9i forgot to taker my laptop charger, and refused to go to Walmart to buy another one. I will not shop at that store even if I'm starving to death, and it's the only store around. That's how strongly I feel about that family!
I had a couple beers yesterday. No worries.
I'm not going back to the daily habit. I'm determined.

I've been upset all weekend about the interaction with DD on Saturday. I felt abused - the way she talked to me. I realize that she has a very short fuse, and, it worries me. She has to have the world fall into place the way she wants it, or else ...
And, she's getting married in October. I am seriously worried about her.

I had longing dreams for my youngest who lives in CA last night.

My life is good, but, like everyone, I have my sadnesses.

The coffee debate, Em. :) I don't usually drink any after noon.
It doesn't seem to affect me.
I just like the smell, and taste in the morning, and, I have no reason to give it up.

Have a good evening,
maureen

Wonda- love it- stalking!!! very resourceful! New bed! very nice.
Don't be too hard on yourself either- my MIL had about a week to get normal. Prep itself was bad and then for the procedure she was under and then after she became a little odd and insulting- kinda angry towards everyone so my DH and I kind of wondered if it had something to do with the anesthetic -maybe but of course we are not Doctors.
You will feel normal again!!! emoticon
and you can hit the 6 pounds!!!

But- although I am pressured to get diagnostics I will keep learning and trying to make best choice- which I think is important.
People have had polyps and cysts that they take to the grave with no health problems but I think in recent times these things have been framed/presented as clutter and we need to declutter...

Did someone mention coffee- well I am having a cup and it is Sunday so I allow 1/2 tsp. of sugar.

Then off for a walk. I ate last night- a potato and some vegan mayo and 1/2 avocado. I craved that-odd but probably because of the fat. I am going to make some juices but off the fast for now and just regular meals.

My birthday wish is to weigh in under 150 so that is my goal this week! emoticon emoticon

Think I'll be going back to coffee soon only because I'm nearly out of my good green tea. I order it from Japan and it takes awhile to get here. Anyway, I'll begin with a small cup per day and see how I do.

I confess, my friends, that my procedure and subsequent freakout during recovery have thrown a wrench in my own personal reset. I guess I'm not the best patient...too much of a worrier...had to eat bland at first, took me longer to bounce back than I thought, then was just so happy to feel normal again that I've been chowing down the past couple days. Well, tonight is date night with my man...we're going to our favorite tapas place so we'll eat on the light side....but tomorrow I'm back on my plan. Think we'll hit the Hollywood farmer's market (biggest/best one in our area) and get some good veggies/breakfast/flowers/etc then have a good walk. Today was the housework workout (got a new bed delivered), tomorrow I'll begin 45 min/day of cardio, and stick to it the rest of the week. I want to return to my Zumba classes; there's this one teacher I really like. I'm kinda stalking her to see where/when she teaches at my gym.

Anyhoo, I still feel confident I can hit a 6 lb loss by 5/25 (end of our 30 days).

As long as I ... WOMAN UP! emoticon

Maureen-
just saw our bag of coffee Beans in the freezer. We buy fair trade too from a coffee place in Prov. The logo is the cutest little smiling bean holding coffee. We grind it up. Favorite is Roast Boy. But- I have had the hardest time trying to stop drinking it.I drink it black sometimes and other times with a creamer I make or a little soymilk
I smelled it today and put it back.
One more day of juicing..

Maureen there are studies that wine is good for you and eggs too..
I just find things ar better without- my Mom had alzheimers and she loved her 2-3 cups of coffee every day.
and there is this study-
pdring.com/cigarette-smoking-nicotin
e-
and-parkinsons-disease.htm

I figure a little of whatever we like is fine- I like the taste and will have it but black tea and tulsi tea and peppermint are more helpful to me than coffee. Coffee really feels like a drufg to me- like speeeeeed.lol

But then I am not waking up at 5 to greet a client! lol
thank goodness for me - but happy for you!

Got in 6 miles- went to meet up with DH in the park as he went out with the boys last night and never made it back home. Smart enough not to drive and anyway he volunteered today for a march of Dimes 5K. He has to serve the pulled pork at the end of the race- blech . Wonder how he feels lol.
Anyway he asked if I wanted to stay but I am sooooo glad to not be a part of any of those races anymore. Running or volunteering.
Wished him well and came home and made a green juice.
Gonna do a mud mask. Iron some clothes
Feels great to be clear headed!!!
Might either do a DVD or walk 4 miles later dunno yet....

Good morning, friends!
I'm strong on my AF, and healthy eating regime since last Friday. :)
Feeling great!

I don't have the same thinking as you, re: coffee, Emily.

The new studies report that coffee is actually a good addition to many people's diet. As much as 3 cups a day is purported to aid in preventing various diseases, including Alzheimer's.
https://authoritynutrition.com/why-is-co
ffee-good-for-you/

Of course, there are some whose systems cannot tolerate coffee.
I can go without and not be bothered, but do enjoy it.
We buy only the fair trade organic coffees - usually French roast. I drink it black.

Have a great weekend!

Wonda- the kefir should help. Awesome on no coffee- I love that stuff but it really is a drug.
I'm not drinking it during juice fast and maybe I should no go back to it

I am going to change to 3 days of juicing - I just don't have the kind of juicer I need for green juices. It heats up too much. It is fine for carrot or apple or combo but green is the best kind of juice fast-
It is a champion juicer so 3 days of it will be enough and then I will go to smoothies. Someday I will get a better juicer

Good luck with your juicing, Em!

Maureen, those colors sound wonderful. So important to surround ourselves with things we love.

I'm still recovering a bit from my procedure 2 days ago, not feeling quite up to snuff. The "prep" is continuing to work which is a drag, but it's slowly tapering off. I'm downing a bunch of kefir to right myself. I think it's helping. The dr will call me this afternoon with results.

Logging calories although my eating is a bit off.....going for bland things. I did have a little wine last night as I find it acts as an anti-spasmodic for me. Had a short walk today. Slowly getting back to normal.

An interesting thing: I love coffee almost as much as wine, but I weaned myself off before the scope....now I just have one green tea in the morning and it's all I need! A huge change from my 3 cups of joe (on working days). My energy feels more even too.

Off to get ready for lunch with a dear friend....ah, I love being on hiatus.....

Have a good one, gals!

Same here, Em - foggy, and drizzly.
I got up at 4 am so will probably take a nap later. I have a 5.30 a.m. client on Fridays, and then, off to teach my morning classes.

I want to paint the apartment. I just got a new rug in the living room, and will use an accent color on one wall - sort of an orange/coral. I am surrounding myself with the colors, and things that please me, and chucking the rest.
I gave away a perfectly good rug, and sofas because they were dull, and gray. I'm going for warm colors, and some aqua/green hues.

I did my first portrait session with my new studio lights yesterday. It went pretty well, though I ended up shooting my best picts with window light, and a little filler - my tried, and true method. :)

6 days AF, and, feeling in my groove. Like you, Em, I do so much better when booze is my a part of my daily habits.

Thanks fr starting this challenge. I really like the team support. :)

Make it a great day, all!
maureen

Hello!
overcast here. Froggy Friday here- meaning I am going to do some of the things I am putting off...Mark Twain has that saying about eating the biggest frog first and it looks like I will do that and then go on to the smaller ones. The house needs attention so I will put my effort into that and a short 15 minute abs tape I have. Day emoticon of 5 day juices- I'm doing this more because we are fighting a bug of some kind for a week and I think will make me better. Then it is back to just plain healthy plant based eating.

Maureen- sounds like you are doing great and thanks for the birthday wishes..not until May 7th but my kids keep asking me what I want to do and what I want. I know I want to feel good so over drinking is not part of that. I read about Gabe Mirkin a while back...will go look again

I always do better when I just keep drinking to just social occasions and then I don't even think about how many. I just drink 1-2 and switch out to water or even a soda as a treat as I see what happens to those who choose to go overboard. The red faces and the loud voices are a deterrent.
Wow- I just realized that I have done 5 days AF without thinking about it...I don't mean I did not have cravings I just forgot when I started or to count. Sounds to me like I figured out that I need to not set up a plan for that and to just keep it to celebratory things as I said I don't go overboard with that. It is when I drink here at home daily that it become problematic and the calories add up! emoticon

Yay, Emily - and happy birthday! I love it that you treated yourself to something nice to wear - instead of booze!!! Sound like you're doing great!

Welcome Christine!

I had that procedure done several years ago, WW - not an experience one easily forgets. Hopefully, the polyps are benign.

I've been doing well. Really enjoying being AF, and, following this partial fast plan. Dr. Gabe Mirkin is my inspiration. He and his wife follow this way of eating; they're in their 80s, and going strong, I subscribe to his ezine. Always worth a read.

Well, I'n down 2 lbs since Monday, so have decided to up my goal for the month to 10lbs. Very doable.

My fridge is stocked with veggies and fruits (20 mangoes!!!), yogurt, eggs, and cottage cheese. Plus, i have plenty of beans, and nuts.

I made a salmon/quinoa/spinach/mushroom/red pepper dish last night, and served it on a small salad plate for me, and DH - just about a cup. It was sufficient.
he has lost a pound, or two.

I like eating light.

Got a 20 min workout on the gazelle this morning. I'm taking some of my left-overs to my daughter for our lunch. It's raining. I'll still walk.

I teach a Pilates class tonight.

(I wonder why I don't get Emanuel re: posts to this challenge group?)

Have a great day, team challenge!
maureen

WW- lol I don't know how nice that would be!!! haha- yeah you took the drug too? wow I researched that - versed (it is the rape drug) so sometimes if you have had past trauma it can be difficult but it sounds like you are ok.
this is TMI but for now I figure I am ok with my over foot long BM every morning and sometimes another quick trip later on in the day as well... ha ha
I have only had issues when I went on atkins for 4 days.

- I am very sorry for the loss of your friend. emoticon

SO! I am feeling better. I got a 2 mile walk and a 6 mile walk.
I'm off a little later that I thought after packing DH a lunch for another 6 miler- but I got a bunch of other stuff done and I need to keep in mind my schedule is mine to set up.

A few more things when I get back.
Then- I am juicing for 5 days after getting bloodwork done tomorrow morning for the usual panel of stuff. I'd rather get it done before juicing in case juicing messes up the numbers.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!
Let's do this!
down one pound today!!!

Christine, amazing start!

Emily, I hope you're feeling better.

Yesterday was my Day 2, all clear liquids, but managed to get a 45 minute walk in! Wasn't lightheaded at all, just really wanted to chew something after two days of liquids. Then of course, the prep stuff I had to drink for today's colonoscopy. Two words: not fun.

Today is day 3 and the procedure itself. Glad it's done! He found 3 polyps which he removed and will biopsy, but he's pretty sure they're benign. I'm still quite groggy from the "twilight" sleep and slightly headachy, but I had a good nap and I'm trying to flush my body with liquids to get rid of the drugs. Maybe they'll find a way to combine a colonic with a colonoscopy, right Em? That'd be nice. Anyway, I've put it off for a few years, but an acquaintance passed away recently (he was 56) from colon cancer and I heard he'd never had one. So that was a little motivation. And I don't have to do it again for 5 years....hooray.

Tomorrow is back to the plan. I have healthy food in the fridge and I'm ready to go. I may even weigh myself in the morning since I'm pretty sure I lost a few with the fasting.

Sorry if I'm rambling.....hopped up on drugs.....wheeee........

Good morning all! Joined a day late, but better late than never! Yesterday was a good day. I ate well, although could have skipped the half bagel. Today is a new day though and I WILL avoid that bagel! I went to the gym, drank my green tea and tons of water. I did have 1 cocktail last night, but that's a whole lot better than I've been doing lately so to me that's progress. Today I have all of my meals planned out. Going to an early 6:30am boot camp. So goals for the day, no bagel, no cocktail, avoid the candy jar at work! Hope everyone has a super day!!

All the best,
Christine emoticon

I don't need to count calories as long as I stick to it.

I'm battling some cold/viral thingy tha tDH has too- sore throat and tiredness.
I have some vegan "chickn" soup I made- had that for lunch
Had a green smoothie fro breakfast. Voted in primary.
Will have just veggies for supper- asparagus and roasted cauliflower and sweet potato and salad...might make baked tofu - not sure.

Since I am not feeling weel my focus is to drink plenty of water and tea and to get to bed early.
I'm hoping to wake up feeling good enough to get back to exercise.
I am meeting a friend to make this advent calendar- long story there.

Maureen- I need to clean too. I love that there are so many podcasts to listen to while I do that.

WondaWoman- yes- I have felt that lightheaded feeling. Awesome job on the 40 minutes.

After voting I picked up some groceries and drove by the liquor store...drove by is the operative there and then went into a thrift store and bought a really cool high fashion embroidered type hoodie thing fo r $8. Very nice! and won't get pissed down the toilet later lol
ok!
have great rest of the day... off to make tea

Sounds like a good start for you, WW. :)
I'm doing the same as yesterday - though may cook some salmon to have with the salad.
I like the simplicity of this plan.

Today, DH and I are cleaning the apartment!! Yay! It's so much easier when it's two.

I'm doing a photo shoot in my studio (in my apartment) tomorrow, and thus, this clean is necessary.
I have a cleaning lady lined up to start coming every fortnight.

It's 3 days AF for me.
I sure eat better when I'm not drinking - it's a whole different mentality.

Well, time to make lunch.

:)

Maureen, I like this plan of yours. Funny, the man and I were just reading last night about the benefits of fasting.

Day 1 down! 40 minute walk and liquids only: green tea, juices (purchased from a juicery--2 green, 2 fruit), 2 cups of homemade bone broth, lots of water.

Today is more of the same except I'll make sure I strain my juices so they are clear. We'll see about the walk; I'm a bit lightheaded...which is to be expected when on liquids.

But I'm feeling good! Happy to be doing this with y'all. :)

Em, will you be counting calories? If so, do you use a journal, or an app? I use an app: "Lose It!" I like it a lot.

6 lbs sounds like a very doable goal for 30 days, so I'll make it mine too.
:) I started a new eating regime today- Intermittent fasting plan. It's simple enough. The plan I'm using means that I eat for only 8 hours a day, and, fast overnight, and for a few more hours. Food choices are healthy ones, of course: salads, fruits, nuts, beans, limited grains. I'll eat fish 2x a week, and add some cheese, and yogurt. No alcohol, and etc. I'm not counting calories.
Day 1 is going well. :)

Yay, Em! Glad to have you along!

I think it's a super-smart move to anticipate the celebratory days ahead and plan for them. I think for Mother's Day I'll suggest a beach picnic, rather than a big ol' champagne brunch. But if I'm having a celebratory mimosa, I will count up those dang calories and add them to the tally, f'shizz.

I'll post daily, too. Thanks for being my reset buddy!
