Hello,

I've been having a hard time getting the time to walk in. I am actually behind times getting week 2 done. I will do this eventually but it will not be in the 4/5 week time frame. I will do my 5K though....I will not quit.

W2D2 done. I am trying to take this at a reasonable pace. I am bad about doing things too fast and burning out. At my weight, this is a challenge for me and I am working up a sweat. I need to feel good about it, and not feel discouraged about how much I can't do.

Hi team, I must let you know that I did not give in to walking on the day I was to rest. Yet the next day I did not walk also.

Completed Day 2 of Week 2 today. Walked 2 miles instead of 1.75. Cross-trained yesterday with 30 Day Shred DVD and a 1 hour Zumba class. So far so good!

Week 2 day 2, I walked on the treadmill yesterday for 40 minutes. I know that this is my day to rest, but I feel like walking because, I think my body is used to walking 5 days a week. I will keep you posted if I give in to it.
P.S. I crossed trained also yesterday.

I was going to get my 2 mile in today. However, when I awoke today my stomach was in so many knots I didn't think it would go away. However, I took today as a rest and will do my best to get my 2 miles in tomorrow.

Yesterday was my rest day so, I need to get downstairs and "move it, move, move it" on the treadmill before my day gets into full swing. I'm going out to eat with our prayer meeting group tonight so, I need to get online and see if I can find a menu for this place. I've never been there so this should be interesting.

I went a little over 5 miles this week walking.
I cycled one night for 3 miles.

It was interesting to read about the importance of cross training, especially for people who run.
I don't know if I will be a runner, but you never say never.:)

I too can benifit from using other muscle groups besides the walking one.

Walking Week 3 and some cross training too.

I got sidetracked last week and didn't get to walk but one day. So I am actually a week behind. I did 1.75 miles in 33 minutes. I was wondering what kind of timeframe I should be aiming for to complete the 5k. I would love any feedback that anyone could offer. Thanks.

Started Week 2 tonight. Walked for 25 minutes and total distance was 1.09 miles. This seems a little slow in comparison to some of the other posts but I'll keep trying to kick it up a notch to increase my distance and better my time.

Good luck to everyone else this week!

Starting week 2 today. I have to do an evening walk. Trying to see if there is a difference in time.

I have plantar fasciitis. I've had it for awhile now. I finally got diagnosed w/it after a lot of dr.s appts. I have that, a pinched peroneal nerve (runs along the outside of your pinky toe) & IT band syndrome. I went to a Sports Med. Dr. who finally figured everything out. She said that I can be as active as I want and do anything (but should probably limit lots of jumping @ first). She said just make sure to stretch every day for about 10-15 mins. & then ice after activity. Also, rolling your feet over a tennis ball or a spiky ball helps too. Hope you feel better & good luck!

Follow your bliss & don't be afraid, & doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be.

Looks like I may have to "pause" in the middle of my week two. I have plantar fasciitis! Ugh!
