I am about to start week #4. It will be a challenge. Had to travel to the Northwest where it rains a lot, plus, I am taking care of my two grand daughters who both had their tonsils removed this past Friday. I will do my best. My d-i-l knows that I am training for the 5K and is very supportive. I hope we can get those walks in, together, while my son is watching the girls. On the other hand, she is so busy during the week. Besides working fulltime, she is very involved in the girl's schools, Brownies, Softball, Swimming (ok, that won't happen this week). She is just spread so thinly.

Didn't do as much walking as I should have this week. Work has been crazy! Did do a lot of running around at work though. Up and down the hill and up and down the stairs too. We've had a lot of events at the school this week. These are the days I should be wearing a pedometor.

Next week is the last week before a 4 week spring break. Can hardly wait, to spend 4 weeks taking care of me.

walked another 39 min. yesterday and by night time my right ankle is hurting and getting bigger. It did snow last night, so wouldn't have walked, but won't for sure, I have to go to work in a few min. and I am on my feet the whole time. This should be an interesting 8 hours and then 8 hours tomorrow starting at 7:30. Wish me luck with the anke. Everyone have a great day as this is the first day of the rest of our life. gramkris

Sounds like a great start to me! Keep it up.

I did a 30 minute walking DVD, the weather has been rainy off and on all day. Also did the srength exercises from Day 2 of the 28 day challenge.

Hopefully I can walk outside at work tomorrow. Have a late night at work, won't get home until 7 or 7:30. That will make it a 13 hour day for me.

Keep up the good work, I know you can do the 5K. What is your goal date?

Had a few set backs due to injury, working overtime and the weather. But got my workouts in this week. Doing my 1.5 mile tomorrow after church.

Now we are getting rainy weather again, Guess I'll have to get to the gym or do a walking video at home. I try not to do the video if possible, I live in an upstairs apartment. I can only imagine what it would sound like down stairs.

Off to the mall to do a little walking and get a few groceries before the storm hits.

I thought a mile was alot shorter! I somehow thought I walked a mile last week and realized I only walked 1/8th. It seemed like a mile to me. ha, ha. I did walk one mile yesterday. My next door neighbor told me where to walk if I walk to walk one mile one way and then back would be two. It was nice yesterday but today it's too cold. I'll go on the treadmill today.

tomorrow is my secind walk in the challenge. Ive done my cardio in between and am excited to get out walking again. thats usually my favorite thing to do :-)

Did two miles yesterday, not realizing it should have been 1.5 miles. I went ahead and took half the time of my second mile and added it to the first mile. I am trying speed walking, but am so exhausted afterwards. I don't think we are judged by how fast we walk? I assume we list the time to see if we will improve speed over time?
Two older men were watching me coming up a hill and asked if I couldn't walk any faster and laughed. They were probably wondering where the fire was.

Did a 60 minute Zumba class thismorning then went for a 50 minute walk on the path I will walk the 5K on in a few weeks. FELT GREAT!

I finished Week One yesterday (12 Mar 2011). Since I have been walking at least a couple times a week since last May, this first week hasn't been two difficult. I'm expecting Week Two to be a stretch because I don't walk more than a mile in a single session.

I haven't been doing any cross-training because I don't have access to a gym or anything. I've just been doing more walking on the off days.

The weather here has been typically March, wet. Spent an hour shoveling myself out of the driveway from last nights snow fall - now bailing the basement from the ongoing rain of today emoticon

This program has made me lost 3 pounds (I'm not joking) in about four days! Now I know that will slow way down as my body adjusts (and honestly much of that was probably water weight), but it is a GREAT motivator! I'm actually jogging a little of this program to help push my endurance. Tomorrow it will be at least 60 degrees and I'm going jogging/walking in the park with a friend.

Hard to fit it in sometimes, but you look like you have a plan Cindyrinal. I know, the weather here is terrible, but I feel like I achieved something by going out for my walk anyway. I'm walking a mile a day, so I think it will be good to see if I can get to the mile and a half for the goal on Saturday.

Yes, risk taking is inherently failure-prone. Otherwise, it would be called sure-thing-taking.

Taking a day off today, I'm going to walk a half mie, and then tomorrow try they mile and a half. My knees are trying to catch up with my mind on how much exercise I should be doing. Ha....but I love having a goal to go after. I agree with Michigan, I'm in Ohio and the cold and rain is hampering progress, but looking forward to that time change so I can walk after work. Good luck the rest of this week to everyone!

Today I plan to do 3.2 K on the treadmill which is 2 Miles. I have a converter on my cell phone which helps me a lot as I do not have a clue as to how far a mile is. It is cold (by our standards here (Israel) so I will do it inside.
