In our district, Kindergarten starts this year with common core. First grade next year and second through 12 the last year. I am not sure if they can get it altogether in time.

We've had a common curriculum for a few years. The state has written core standards and benchmarks that everyone is required to use. Progress reports for kids were done this summer to match with that, but yes, some assessments will need to be changed.

We are beginning the process of rewriting curriculum guides, semester exams, etc. It will take a couple of years to change all of the district wide materials. My impression is that its going to be a bigger adjustment for elementary than high school.

Does anyone else work in a district that is implementing the Common Core Curriculum this year or has already implemented it? We're implementing it this year - I'm a little overwhelmed!
