you know, even if I had the money there would be no way I would go out into all that crazieness.

I hate shopping for anything and get it all online except for food and then I go and get what I need and get out of the store as quick as possible.

I was watching on TV what all these people were doing on that Friday and it sure does look scary to me.

I went out to the Black Friday sale. Only 1 since I live on base overseas. Was in line at the Navy Exchange at 5 am. They opened at 8 and I was out of there by 930. It was actually fun, they gave out free coffee and hot chocolate to those in line. Base security was there making sure there where no problems. They checked Ids at 715 so we didn't have to show them on the way in, the carts were free. Since I knew exactly what I was after and where it was I went directly there and got it. Electronics was crazy because of some great deals on computers, IPADs, Xboxes and tvs. I stopped at the toy department and picked up a couple of toys to give to Toys for Tots on the way out. The checkout line was long but organized. Saturday I went back over for the other sale and got my son a bike for 20% off. They assembled it for me and had it ready in 30 minutes. The rest of my shopping was done online. Now I'm just waiting for that stuff to come in.

No shopping for me on Black Friday! getting hurt in any way is not worth the $5. I would have saved. You have to really know your prices because just because it has a big red tag on it doesn't mean it is a great deal.

Stay Strong!

I ended up doing some online shopping to take advantage of the "free shipping". THEN, yesterday morning I had to go out to the grocery store, anyway, which is next to my small town K***t store. I went in there to find a few things I needed and didn't even think about that there were still some of the good weekend sales going on. It's a small store and the serious shoppers had long since come & gone (onto the bigger, busier, & better, more electronic selling stores.....) I did find a few things on sale that I'd had my eye on a few months ago. Got a nice sweater for 40% off that I'd thought was too expensive at full price. I was happy.

I actually like to shop. I actually like to go grocery shopping as well. It's just one of those quirky things about me. LOL. For the last few years, my DD has wanted to go to the Black Friday Sales, so I was the one who drove her. She is now long distance (with what once was my car....boo hoo). Life moves on and I got left in the dust, ya might say. Puppy has now come over to me to remind me that that isn't entirely the case. She occupies much of my time these days.....and helps tremendously. emoticon emoticon

I hate shopping in the best of times. Not going anywhere on Black Friday. I had lot's of family visiting so we sat back and relaxed. Actually, I had found some bargains and things I wanted already and was able to send them home with my guests.

I went out simply because I needed the outing, but not for sales or anything. One trip to a local somewhat organic store that has an amazing nut selection. Since, there's a Barnes & Noble in the same shopping center, I walked through but was basically unimpressed. I did, however, pick up a great little crock pot cookbook for a great little price (under $8).

It was gorgeous weather, so it was nice to walk outside between the shops, get out for a bit and then come home for a little lunch.

i work in a grocery store and it is amazing how many people are back in after thanksgiving shopping for more food!

Here's the "crazy"...I'm part of a family of 5. For me personally, there is NOTHING worth the hassle. And I have all that I NEED.

However, my teen sons went out the door @10 pm to wait in lines. Then found out that one of the "deals" was only available online. So then he called home to see if we would purchase it when it became available at 12am. Then he waited in another line in the POURING RAIN to purchase said item.
At 3:30 am dh & other ds left to go stand in lines....?!?!

Later in the AM after I got back from my 5.5 mile WALK for health & fitness, I was met at the door by teen son needing to return 1 item. (DH felt that an adult might be received better in the Return dept!?!) So I still got roped into heading out to stores to pick-up things that others were requesting. -- Told him it would cost him a coffee for me! Went to 4 stores. Overall, the crowds were "done" and it was fairly simple to walk in / walk out after doing the necessary purchase / business.
I survived the insanity...part of being a family, eh!!? emoticon

I had to work on Friday. But I did go out today to get some necessities and picked up a few gifts on sale. I'm trying hard not to go overboard on the gift shopping and try to give gifts from the heart. Ha, we'll see how that goes!

Nope, I avoided it all. I was exhausted after all that cooking and prepping for days.. I hate to shop anyway. I can't tell you the last time I even stepped foot in the mall. If I do shop, it's online. The only time I actually have to go to a physical store is to buy shoes and pants and then I have to talk myself into doing that for a week!

We had a Jamaican version of Black Friday which started from Thursday and ends today. Usually, I do not get caught up in any sales hype but this time round I had to because I needed to shop for some working clothes [due to my ugly spots] as I start a new job on Monday.

The level of discounts is nothing compared to what is given in the US......and the pickings were limited [in my view].

I stayed in one of our local small towns.I normally don't go out on Black Friday but did this year. I went to our small electronics store. They had already set aside my smart phone a week earlier.I also purchased a tablet &cover. I happened to get there when they weren't busy. It was a pleasant experience for me.I didn't go to some of the other stores since I don't care for crowds. I happened to get there in between crowds. The clerks were friendly like always.

God bless you and hold you in the palm of his hand!

I went out, but avoided the crazy parts. I did a select few that had really good deals for me, like Eddie Bauer had 40% off everything. A small sports store had exercise shoes on sale. I'm also a sucker for Michaels and Joanns. I spend so much there I need the extra 35 or 30% off. Also, some had the same specials today without the crowds.

I agree. I hate crowds. It's just not worth the savings. And I'm not big on the newest electronics. My relatives, unfortuneately, get non-electronic gifts from me. I'm more in to family friendly gifts, like games everyone can pay together. No shopping for me this weekend. Yay!!!!

I totally avoid stores on this day....
And after reading about people getting hurt while at the store doing it I thought for me it's just not worth it.

I did go to my small store here in town some things were great priced others so,so. I did not buy any of them of course I was not looking at any BIG items either to buy.

I love bargains. However it's go to be a real good bargain for me to get it.
Some might even call me a cheap skate.

With all the internet buying you can do & if you have the $ you can find real good bargains.

I'm asking this early....I want to know how many of you dashed out for those Black Friday sales?? Have any experiences you want to share with us...good and bad??

I didn't venture out for sales. I browsed online, and saw the item I was looking at sell out right before my eyes! I felt a bit of the frenzy of it all!! I also, then, completely talked myself out of that certain item.....anyway. I browsed other website sales. I filled my cart in a couple sites....only to think about it for awhile..... (Did I mention that I have a hard time making up my mind??) My son went to sales with his friends that started at midnight. They were in the electronics store, of course. No thank you, no thank you.

What's your story? emoticon emoticon
