I recently found out that it takes 12 weeks to see significant difference, which is what is keeping me when I don't lose weight after a few weeks.

Great effort! I have been on a plateau for several months after losing 50 pounds pretty quickly. I didn't try too hard over the holidays but started a regular fitness routine again this month, and amped up the routine one week ago. I apparently gained 2 pounds mid week and lost that 2 pounds as of my weigh in today. So, nothing. I understand that frustration. Congratulations on your success! emoticon

Strangely.... it must have been a hormonal thing... I was super strict all week and actually lost at the beginning of the week, gained 2 pounds in the middle (all the while exercising 1000cal a day... almost 2 hrs per day) then the monthly feminine thing came... and I ended up losing all the unexpected gain and more...
so all the hard work did pay off, but my bod played some hormonal games .... and it was not clear if the supplements were working or not....
all told, I did lose 4.4 pounds this week... and yeah I did eat only 1300 cal or so a day and exercise 1000+ cal most days... I worked hard.. but I know the hormonal thing fights me... I hope I can repeat the success... I am sticking too it....

Good for you to stick with it but just remember that your net calories at the end of they day is what counts from what I have read. . So make sure your net calories are still in a safe and normal range. If you eat 1300 calories a day and do 1000 calorie burn your body will not interpret that correctly and you may not lose weight like expected. Good luck to you in your weight loss efforts.

So I have been taking synthroid and Metformin and DCI and cinnamon extract and green tea and vitamin D, sticking to 1300 calories or less a day and doing 500 to 1000 calories of exercise on my elliptical machine every day, even if I have to stay up until 2 am to get the time to do it, because it takes me almost 2 hrs to get 1000 calories on the elliptical machine. And.. the scale DID NOT move down like I expected. I did not gain, but come on, anyone without these medical issues would have lost 5 pounds this week with all of that exercise. I even ate baked fish right in front of the family while they all had pizza and I did not eat pizza. It can be very discouraging. And then all the skinny minis think fat people are lazy...including the skinny minis I am related to (I am the only fat person in my family). I AM NOT LAZY. And.. I am not going to quit. I am hoping this is just some temporary hormonal thing and I will start dropping weight soon. I AM STICKING TO IT and I am not going to give up and have a handful of whatever the kids are eating and leaving on the table.
