I have spent most of everyday that I have not been working with my mother. I live with her now so it makes it easy. We spent three days sick together on the couch and then spent time cooking and going to my sister's house. I then took this morning and spent it with my niece and nephew. This was the first time I have spent time with the alone. It has been great.

I have a lot of family members that have chosen not to see me and a few that I have chosen not to see, but I have made a point of contacting as many as possible this week. The shooting of 4 fire fighters here in NY was way too close to home. I know 3 out of four of them and that makes it hard. Due to this issue I have also spent a lot of time on phone and email with friends in EMS helping each other through. They are a family of my choosing.

I have spent the last several days with family. Cooking our Christmas dinner and everything else. My side of the family own time share and we have started spending every Christmas there - booking a couple of suites and getting all the kids/grandkids together. It was a wonderful time - even with family drama lol.

My husband & I rarely have full days off in common where we can just spend time together as a family. We both took days off before Christmas & spent a lot of quality time with our 16 month old daughter. There was also a lot of family time yesterday & Monday with our extended family!

I have spent this whole month with family!! Some days with just my daughter, some days with just my son, one day with my father-in-law, a couple with my sister-in-law, some with my mom, some with my dad. The only person I'm missing is my huz. Unfortunately, he's in Texas (I'm in Idaho). It's a military thing.

I live in Connecticut, less than 10 miles from Newtown, and I work at my town's high school. It has certainly been an emotionally trying time for everyone in Connecticut and the entire country. It has really hit everyone here so hard, but we are all incredibly grateful for the good wishes, thoughts, and prayers that everyone has sent our way.

I don't have children of my own, but I'm spending the holidays with my family and trying to support my friends and co-workers who live in Newtown and the surrounding towns.

Thanks again for keeping the children, the Sandy Hook staff, and their families in your hearts.

I will be spending a lot of time with family. Leaving this week to Illinois to visit my family. I will spend around 14 hours in the car with my husband and children to and from my family's home. Will be staying at my parents house with my two sisters, their husbands, and their 3 children and a dog. Spending lots of time with my mom's parents, visiting with friends and hanging out with my cousins. Lots of loved one on this 11 day trip.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and spending time with those you love!

After church Sunday, I took my family of 6 to see "The Hobbit" and then to have chocolate fondue. What a great time! (I did not count the fondue in my tracker though...)

I had my 4 year old daughter help me pack up my avon orders for my customers yesterday, I took out a notebook and show her how to write the first letter of her name, I then gave her a circular and told her to circle all the toys she wants, and today we put up a chrstmas tree.

I introduced my 10 month old to new food and played with him and my daughter.

Yesterday I had a great time at my sister's place. All 3 of us sisters got together with my son to make some Christmas candies. It was a great time. We made the candies while watching the Green Bay Packers game.

After hearing what happened in CT on friday all I wanted to do was hug my son. When he got off the bus I wrapped him in my arms and wept that I was able to do this at the end of each day. All weekend long I made it a point to spend time with him, extra time just him and I doing things he liked to do. This morning, as hard as it was I placed a prayer pin on his pants and kissed him goodbye. Then I decided to run and run some more. I could not contain my emotions all weekend...crying whenever he was not around. My heart breaking for these poor parents and families. I wanted to run all weekend long, but thought it was more important to spend time with the love of my life. My angel child. With this run this morning it was a run out of fear. To get out the anger I felt that such special angels were taken from the world. When my run was over I felt relief that God has given me another day to get up and kiss my son and run.

Taking it one day at a time and knocking it down.

I spent Friday night with my team from work and then later went to a movie with my best friends. Saturday I spent the whole day with my children and Sunday too. Sunday we made 12 dozen cookies to donate to a local charity and then had dinner with some great friends. Friday we leave to spend the holidays with my in laws. I talked to my dad in NJ and my sister in MA.

After trying NOT to listen or watch what happened in CT, I realized I couldn't avoid it, so I sat and watched. I cried. Then I cried again.
I'm a first time momma at the tender age of 39. I hugged and loved on my 1 1/2 year old all weekend. My husband and I spent the weekend at home, just being a family.
God bless everyone and remember to enjoy every day

This is a perfect challenge, not only for the time of year, but for me personally. In the new year, I am potentially relocating to Seattle from Florida, so it is a good reminder to make the most of my time here with family and friends.

This is a great challene! Love the family theme! We always spend a lot of time with family in December, especially when our family who lives far away comes into town. In light of this recent tragedy, I plan to spend a lot more extra time with my family for the rest of December and throughout the coming year! Family time is too precious to waste.

What an amazing Challenge idea! I live with my mom, living 3 hours from our closest relative. Today we had planned to meet up with my Aunt, 2nd Cousin, the 2 of us and my Great Aunt but were weathered out! So much for that 3 hour ride! Blasted winter weather....Plans are to get together next week-end so prayers and wishes for great weather are going! We have been invited to my younger brothers house for Christmas day this year, so hopefully that will come to fruition. Haven't seen my nephew in about a year! Spending time with James hardly occurs and that will be nice, also. I miss my family, friends are scattered and now that I am well into being an adult(38) I just don't quite grasp what sorts of plans to make with whom-ever! I will try to spend time with a new friend at least once each week this season!

I live far from my family, but have been talking to them often. My boyfriend and I have been working to spend more quality time together. Last night we enjoyed some Christmas shopping during the day and the comedy club at night. We're both very much looking forward to my oldest niece's birthday in January when we'll get to see everyone!

I like this challenge, it's what the season is all about.

I'm very far from my family, but I spend time on the phone with my mother and grandmother every day. Even though we're so far apart, we all stay very close. Many of my friends are also far away, but I'm gonna make it a goal to see the two that live here, plus The Buddy, at least once during the season.

And then there is dh. I would spend all my time with him if I could, but we do spent a lot of good time together. If anything, I need to learn to be less dependent on him.

Well, anyway... now this is turning into a therapy session. lol The point of my response is to say that I will make an effort to see and/or spend quality time with my loved ones this season.

Thanks for the great idea!

I love this challenge! Work had me traveling last month and this month. I just recently returned from a two week trip and it is so good to be home with my wife and kids. I currently am at the beginning of a two week vacation now so for this challenge I am going to plan a fun activity each day with my family. Then Friday we are going to my in-laws for a few days for Christmas.

I share one side of a duplex with my blind mom & my sis & her boys live on the other half. We go to Curves together 4-5 daddy's a week to work out. I don't get to see my boys as much as I'd like especially my 16 year old that lives 3 hours away but enjoy every minute I do get with both of my boys.

I'm very fortunate that I work at my daughter's school. She even comes to my classroom for a half hour a day. We see each other in the halls and have a secret hand gesture we do that means "I love you." :) Unfortunately, we live quite far from my family, but do make it a point to go visit several times a year. During this month, we'll make the drive and spend several days staying with the family. In this time we have small family celebrations and also a dinner for all the extended cousins and such. I also visit old friends while we're there. This is my favorite time of year because I do get to visit everyone.

That is a great challenge. I homeschool my children so I am with them 24-7! WIth that being said I am so busy and intertwined with them that I often forgo spending time with other family members such as my parents and sisters, nieces and nephews! It is hard when you are so busy, then when you are finished with what u have to do in a full day (which at my house is never finished) U r too tired to go anywhere and see others.

So I will try to go see my sisters this wk. Goal #1

I have been racking my brain all month as to what to do this month. With what happened in CT the other day (in case you aren't sure, there was a massive school shooting at an Elementary School where 16 kids and 10 adults were killed), I have come up with the following challenge.

This month, I challenge you to spend as much time as you can with your family and friends. Make the most of that time with them.

I realize this isn't a food or exercise challenge, but with it being the time of year that it is, and with the killings of innocent people the other day, I feel like this is the perfect challenge.

Feel free to share here what you did with your friends and family.
