Jesus said, Love one another as I have loved you.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned (Psa 34:1819, 22).

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Phil 2:3-4.

What is a plateau, anyway?
When you are not seeing results in weight lost, inches dropped, or improved fitness for 4-6 weeks, you have probably hit a plateau.

New to Fitbit. I had a Garmin for a few months and it just became challenging to sync so I switched. I prefer simple so I have a Fitbit Zip and an ankle strap. I'll do my best to log in daily and update my steps. Goal is 10,000 per day 5x per week, anything more than that is BONUS steps!

I am going to decrease my daily goal to 20,000
steps per day and my weekly goal to 140,000. I have been unable to consistently reach 25,000 steps so I need to lower expectations. I am not giving up, just re-adjusting. My goal is to continue keeping my Active Minutes above 150 minutes per day. I will also be tracking my mileage with my goal to walk 10 miles per day. I will also be tracking my floors climbed but as I don't really encounter many floors in my travels I will be interested in seeing how high I can get this number on a daily basis. Keep moving people, I know I will! DON'T GIVE UP!!!

OUR THREAD CONTINUES TO GROW EACH WEEK!

IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THAT OUR MEMBERS WHO JOIN THIS THREAD USE THE EDIT FEATURE ON THEIR INITIAL ENTRY.
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
DOING SO WILL KEEP THIS THREAD MANAGEABLE AND ALSO MAKE IT EASIER TO TRACK EACH MEMBER'S DAILY PROGRESS.

An easy way to find your initial entry is to hold down the CTRL key and your F key. This will bring up your FIND box. Enter your SparkName and hit enter. This will take you to your first entry. Click on the EDIT MY POST button and add your steps for that day. Then just click on the POST MESSAGE button and you have edited your entry! (For those using an Apple computer, hold down the COMMAND key and your F key for the FIND box.) If you have any questions/comments please send me a SparkMail. emoticon again!

A BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE BEEN USING THE EDIT BUTTON WHEN YOU POST!!!
I continue to be very impressed by your daily steps! emoticon

I love all the activity on this thread! Welcome to each and every one of you and I hope that you accomplish your goals this week. I WOULD LOVE TO GIVE A BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO JOINED THIS THREAD THIS PAST WEEK! We were a steady 32 strong this past week! That is five less than last week. I continue to be amazed at your step counts, all of you should be very proud of yourselves! emoticon emoticon emoticon

We are still #1 in the Computer & Electronics category?! That continues to be amazing! As of the posting of this post, we are now at (drum roll please!) 124,737 members strong! That is 164 more than last week! Compared to last week's membership increase, that is 24 less new members. We have pushed through the 124,000 level and have our sights set on the 125,000 level. This team is truly one of a kind!!!
emoticon Holy moley!

On the news front, the alleged new FitBit product, the Charge 3, is no longer a rumor. It has been rolled out for orders and FitBit is now fulfilling orders. As mentioned in past weeks, the new fitness tracker no longer has a physical crown, it has a larger screen, is swim-proof, has a longer battery life, and now received multiple smart phone notifications. The device is available for pre-orders at the cost of $149.95.

emoticon Welcome to all of our new team members and thank you for joining our weekly steps goal!!!

I love my Ionic watch. This past week my Ionic watch's step count was 5,280 less steps than my One or -3.4% difference. This is a first! I performed a ton of wrist-based activities for a couple of days this past week so this is expected. (I did notice, as with my previous wrist-based activity tracker, Charge 2, that wrist-based activities do impact the number of steps, calories burned, etc, that my watch accumulates.)

I still continue to lose more weight. I attribute my recent weight loss to a change I made in my eating habits. I love to eat and I never seem to get full. I have to make a very conscious effort to monitor my calories on a daily basis. I begin my day with a light breakfast, some milk and some type of egg sandwich. At work, I don't eat during my breaks, instead choosing to use this time for walks inside our building. I listen to podcasts or music and use my phone to catch up on emails, read, and play games. I find this is very helpful in achieving my daily step goals since I stopped attending the gym (Due to a recent lifestyle change). I drink 6-9 cups of water during the day and eat my "lunch" in the evening. I will have a small dinner later in the evening. I have been also trying to get to bed earlier so this change has definitely helped, too. All of this has resulted in a noticeable drop in my daily calories and my relationship with food. I have literally cut close to 1,000 calories on a daily basis (and sometimes have to push myself to hit 2,000 calories! This is a good change and one not certainly for everybody (or anybody in fact) but it appears to be working for me.
UPDATE: I continue with following this radical plan and it continues to work for me as I am losing more weight. I have dropped 34 pounds in the last eight months! Also, I have done some further research into this new lifestyle of mine and think my method can be classified as fasting. Now I am not starving myself, I am merely choosing to stay away from food for a certain period of time. I am still getting all of my necessary nutrition on a daily basis. I am really loving this lifestyle.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE
I am truly amazed at how this change in eating habits has positively affected me. I have plenty of energy, find myself sometimes "forcing" myself to eat, and getting much more sleep. While my initial foray into the healthy living world back in 2009 was life-changing, this intermittent fasting lifestyle has been life and mind-altering.

Here are some articles that I ran across this past week that I found interesting/inspiring/informative. Enjoy!

This interesting article talks about the perception that fast food is cheaper that food purchased at a grocery store. That is certainly not the case as this article clearly points out.

This inspirational read talks about how to find inspiration in your temptations:

Finally, this informative article talks how aerobic exercise is not just limited to working out in a gym:

Hope you gain knowledge and inspiration from these articles.

Once again and especially as we enter summer, it is of greater importance to keep yourself hydrated. Here are some links to articles that address the importance of keeping your body hydrated.

OK, once again I am stepping down from my soap box!

All readings courtesy of my ONE/IONIC:

10/07: 23,841 (Active Time: 120-Distance: 13.53-Floors: 0-Ionic: 27,492)
10/08: 24,043 (Active Time: 131-Distance: 13.84-Floors: 0-Ionic: 24,888)

10/10: 23,121 (Active Time: 162-Distance 10.59-Floors: 5-Ionic: 23,435)
10/11: 23,078 (Active Time: 147-Distance: 10.57-Floors: 5-Ionic: 22.474)

10/13: 20,818 (Active Time: 121-Distance: 12.39-Floors: 0-Ionic: 20,414)

One more wonderful week in the books! This past week I took a grand total of 156,607 steps for a daily step average of 22,372. I was active for 991 minutes or an average of 141 Active Minutes per day. I traveled 78.84 miles or a daily average of 11.26 miles per day and I climbed only 19 floors this past week. The weather is becoming cooler so there will be more indoor walking but a step is a step?! Now it is time to move on to next week!
