Jesus said, Love one another as I have loved you.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned (Psa 34:1819, 22).

What is a plateau, anyway?
When you are not seeing results in weight lost, inches dropped, or improved fitness for 4-6 weeks, you have probably hit a plateau.

Every day I am on the verge of making slight changes that would make all the difference in my life.

One day I won't be able to do this, but today is not that day

I am going to keep my daily goal at 25,000 steps per day and my weekly goal at 175,000. My goal is to keep my Active Minutes to above 150 minutes per day. I will also be tracking my mileage and my goal is to walk 10 miles per day. I will also be tracking my floors climbed but as I don't really encounter many floors in my travel I will be interested in seeing how high I can get this number on a daily basis. Keep moving people, I know I will! DON'T GIVE UP!!!

Click on the EDIT MY POST button and add your steps for that day. Then just click on the POST MESSAGE button and you have edited your entry! If you have any questions/comments please send me a SparkMail. emoticon again!

A BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE BEEN USING THE EDIT BUTTON WHEN YOU POST!!!
I continue to be very impressed by your daily steps! emoticon

I love all the activity on this thread! Welcome to each and every one of you and I hope that you accomplish your goals this week. I WOULD LOVE TO GIVE A BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO JOINED THIS THREAD THIS PAST WEEK! We were a fantastic 34 strong this past week! That is three less than last week. I continue to be amazed at your step counts, all of you should be very proud of yourselves! emoticon emoticon emoticon

We are still #1 in the Computer & Electronics category?! That continues to be amazing! As of the posting of this post, we are now at (drum roll please!) 122,067 members strong! That is 291 more than last week! That is an increase of 45 members from last week!!! We have pushed through the 122,000 mark and now are headed to the 123,000 level!! This team is truly one of a kind!!!
emoticon Holy moley!

On the news front, FitBit recently rolled out the FitBit Versa and FitBit Ace. The Versa is a less expensive version of their FitBit Ionic (and also has less features) while the Ace is a kid-version wristband that has very fundamental functions. More information can be discovered at www.fitbit.com/
UPDATE: It appears that the FitBit Ace rolled out this past week. This would be the fitness watch for kids. This is great news as our kids need to get outside and play more!

emoticon Welcome to all of our new team members and thank you for joining our weekly steps goal!!!

On Tuesday, 07/10, my Charge 2 stopped working. It would not hold a charge for the first day and then on the second day that face went dark (although it will still charge but only hold the charge for approximately 15". I contacted FitBit's Customer Service and while they suggested a lot of repairs none fixed the device. Even though the warranty had expired, I hoped that FitBit's legendary customer service would see its way to replacing the device. But this was not to be, although they did offer a 25% discount on the purchase of a new device. Considering that FitBit has slashed the price of the device by 20% already I was being given a 5% savings. I am on the fence with regards to replacing the device. I love the sleep information but find the tracking information to be somewhat lacking. Fortunately, I have till the end of July to take advantage of the discounted offer. I am leaning toward replacing it as I wear a watch anyway. More on this later....
UPDATE: Well I have pulled the trigger and placed an order for an Ionic smart watch. I am very excited and am awaiting its delivery.I love that this device has its own built in GPS system so I can map my walks/runs without using my phone. This will be awesome!

I still continue to lose more weight. I attribute my recent weight loss to a change I made in my eating habits. I love to eat and I never seem to get full. I have to make a very conscious effort to monitor my calories on a daily basis. I begin my day with a light breakfast, some milk and some type of egg sandwich. At work, I don't eat during my breaks, instead choosing to use this time for walks inside our building. I listen to podcasts or music and use my phone to catch up on emails, read, and play games. I find this is very helpful in achieving my daily step goals since I stopped attending the gym (Due to a recent lifestyle change). I drink 6-9 cups of water during the day and eat my "lunch" in the evening. I will have a small dinner later in the evening. I have been also trying to get to bed earlier so this change has definitely helped, too. All of this has resulted in a noticeable drop in my daily calories and my relationship with food. I have literally cut close to 1,000 calories on a daily basis (and sometimes have to push myself to hit 2,000 calories! This is a good change and one not certainly for everybody (or anybody in fact) but it appears to be working for me.
UPDATE: I continue with following this radical plan and it continues to work for me as I am losing more weight. I have dropped 28 pounds in the last twenty-one weeks! Also, I have done some further research into this new lifestyle of mine and think my method can be classified as fasting. Now I am not starving myself, I am merely choosing to stay away from food for a certain period of time. I am still getting all of my necessary nutrition on a daily basis. I am really loving this lifestyle.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE
I am truly amazed at how this change in eating habits has positively affected me. I have plenty of energy, find myself sometimes "forcing" myself to eat, and getting much more sleep. While my initial foray into the healthy living world back in 2009 was life-changing, this intermittent fasting lifestyle has been life and mind-altering.

Here are some articles that discuss life-changing steps and ideas. It is very inspiring!

OK, once again I am stepping down from my soap box!

Well one more week in the books! This past week I took a grand total of 154,542 steps for a daily step average of 22,077 steps. I was active for 1,069 minutes or an average of 152 Active Minutes per day. I traveled 74.20 miles or 10.10 miles, on average, per day and I climbed 38 floors. I also became the proud owner of FitBit's Ionic. A work friend has one and raved about how much she liked it. That sold me, I ordered it and after a few days I am liking it. It is basically a smart watch but with tons of fitness features. OK, let's move on to next week!
