Jesus said, Love one another as I have loved you.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned (Psa 34:1819, 22).

Every day I am on the verge of making slight changes that would make all the difference in my life.

One day I won't be able to do this, but today is not that day

I am going to keep my goal the same this week as last. So 55,000 steps for the week and 50 flights of stairs. All readings will be done using my Charge 2.

Steps / Stairs / Water / Active Minutes
07/15: 3221/6/3/0 (rest day)
07/16: 6602/5/9/17
07/17: 6363/4/9/31
07/18: 4151/1/9/0 (3.5 hour drive on top of work)
07/19: 3828/3/4/0 (another long drive for work)
07/20: 5298/5/4/0
07/21:9399/7/9/59

Weekly total: 38862/31/47/107

Sunday: was a day of rest, it wasn't planned but I ended up with a migraine starting so I spent the day sitting in the dark making sure it didn't take hold.
Monday was a work and play day.
Tuesday was the hottest day we have had all year my backyard went to 35C at 7pm, it was just too hot to add any kind of walk in the evening
Wednesday was a long driving day for work. I knew that I wouldn't make my step goal. I even thought about stopping along the way and walking a bit but that would have made my day way too long, it was over 9 hours total with work and driving as it was. Today is another day.
Wednesday was another long drive. I've got to figure out a way to add steps to my day when I have to go out of town for work. The weather last night was just so nasty it wasn't safe to go for a walk.

I am going to keep my daily goal at 25,000 steps per day and my weekly goal at 175,000. My goal is to keep my Active Minutes to above 150 minutes per day. I will also be tracking my mileage and my goal is to walk 10 miles per day. I will also be tracking my floors climbed but as I don't really encounter many steps in my travel I will be interested in seeing how high I can get this number on a daily basis. Keep moving people, I know I will! DON'T GIVE UP!!!

OUR THREAD CONTINUES TO GROW EACH WEEK!

IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THAT OUR MEMBERS WHO JOIN THIS THREAD USE THE EDIT FEATURE ON THEIR INITIAL ENTRY.
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
DOING SO WILL KEEP THIS THREAD MANAGEABLE AND ALSO MAKE IT EASIER TO TRACK EACH MEMBER'S DAILY PROGRESS.

An easy way to find your initial entry is to hold down the CTRL key and your F key. This will bring up your FIND box. Enter your SparkName and hit enter. This will take you to your first entry. Click on the EDIT MY POST button and add your steps for that day. Then just click on the POST MESSAGE button and you have edited your entry! If you have any questions/comments please send me a SparkMail. emoticon again!

A BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE BEEN USING THE EDIT BUTTON WHEN YOU POST!!!
I continue to be very impressed by your daily steps! emoticon

I love all the activity on this thread! Welcome to each and every one of you and I hope that you accomplish your goals this week. I WOULD LOVE TO GIVE A BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO JOINED THIS THREAD THIS PAST WEEK! We were a record-shattering 37 strong this past week! That is six more than last week (and the highest group total since this thread was started in August 2010!) I continue to be amazed at your step counts, all of you should be very proud of yourselves! emoticon emoticon emoticon

We are still #1 in the Computer & Electronics category?! That continues to be amazing! As of the posting of this post, we are now at (drum roll please!) 121,527 members strong! That is 230 more than last week! That is a decrease of 1 member from last week!!! We are midway between 121,000 and 122,000 members and continue to march towards the next level! This team is truly one of a kind!!!
emoticon Holy moley!

On the news front, FitBit recently rolled out the FitBit Versa and FitBit Ace. The Versa is a less expensive version of their FitBit Ionic (and also has less features) while the Ace is a kid-version wristband that has very fundamental functions. More information can be discovered at www.fitbit.com/
UPDATE: It appears that the FitBit Ace rolled out this past week. This would be the fitness watch for kids. This is great news as our kids need to get outside and play more!

emoticon Welcome to all of our new team members and thank you for joining our weekly steps goal!!!

This past week, in fact on Tuesday, 07/10, my Charge 2 stopped working. It would not hold a charge for the first day and then on the second day that face went dark (although it will still charge but only hold the charge for approximately 15". I contacted FitBit's Customer Service and while they suggested a lot of repairs none fixed the device. Even though the warranty had expired, I hoped that FitBit's legendary customer service would see its way to replacing the device. But this was not to be, although they did offer a 25% discount on the purchase of a new device. Considering that FitBit has slashed the price of the device by 20% already I was being given a 5% savings. I am on the fence with regards to replacing the device. I love the sleep information but find the tracking information to be somewhat lacking. Fortunately, I have till the end of July to take advantage of the discounted offer. I am leaning toward replacing it as I wear a watch anyway. More on this later....

I still continue to lose more weight. I attribute my recent weight loss to a change I made in my eating habits. I love to eat and I never seem to get full. I have to make a very conscious effort to monitor my calories on a daily basis. I begin my day with a light breakfast, some milk and some type of egg sandwich. At work, I don't eat during my breaks, instead choosing to use this time for walks inside our building. I listen to podcasts or music and use my phone to catch up on emails, read, and play games. I find this is very helpful in achieving my daily step goals since I stopped attending the gym (Due to a recent lifestyle change). I drink 6-9 cups of water during the day and eat my "lunch" in the evening. I will have a small dinner later in the evening. I have been also trying to get to bed earlier so this change has definitely helped, too. All of this has resulted in a noticeable drop in my daily calories and my relationship with food. I have literally cut close to 1,000 calories on a daily basis (and sometimes have to push myself to hit 2,000 calories! This is a good change and one not certainly for everybody (or anybody in fact) but it appears to be working for me.
UPDATE: I continue with following this radical plan and it continues to work for me as I am losing more weight. I have dropped 28 pounds in the last twenty-one weeks! Also, I have done some further research into this new lifestyle of mine and think my method can be classified as fasting. Now I am not starving myself, I am merely choosing to stay away from food for a certain period of time. I am still getting all of my necessary nutrition on a daily basis. I am really loving this lifestyle.

This article addresses this issue but comes to a completely different conclusion; however, there is some very good information:

Once again and especially as we enter summer, it is of greater importance to keep yourself hydrated. Here are some links to articles that address the importance of keeping your body hydrated.

Another week in the books. This week I was not as active as last week but I got through it! I took a grand total of 168,865 steps for a daily step average of 24,124. I was active for 1,188 minutes this past week or an average of 169 Active Minutes per day. I traveled 80.41 miles or 11.49 miles per day on average and I climbed 38 floors this past week. I am ready to move on to next week, how about you?!
