Jesus said, Love one another as I have loved you.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned (Psa 34:1819, 22).

New to this challenge. But it fits very well with my personal goals. My goal this week is for 55,000 steps for the week and 50 flights of stairs. All readings will be done using my Charge 2.

Day 1 update, managed a nice walk in the morning.
Day 3 update, Didn't manage to get as much walking in as I wanted, but I did have a 4 hour drive in the rain instead...
Day 4: Seems I am about halfway to my goal for this week. Not bad at all, hoping to add some numbers today to push me closer.
Day 5: I'm going to need to really add some numbers today to make my goals.
Day 6: Well it looks like unless today is a banner day I will not make my goal for this week. However as I am starting to understand more and more life happens. My 4 hours drive yesterday could not be avoided and was unplanned.
Day 7: So I ended the week with 45870 steps. Not too bad but not my goal of 55000 steps. I also wanted to do 50 flights of stairs, I made a total of 43 so just a little under my goal.

I am going to keep my daily goal at 25,000 steps per day and my weekly goal at 175,000. My goal is to keep my Active Minutes to above 150 minutes per day. I will also be tracking my mileage and my goal is to walk 10 miles per day. I will also be tracking my floors climbed but as I don't really encounter many steps in my travel I will be interested in seeing how high I can get this number on a daily basis. Keep moving people, I know I will! DON'T GIVE UP!!!

OUR THREAD CONTINUES TO GROW EACH WEEK!

IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THAT OUR MEMBERS WHO JOIN THIS THREAD USE THE EDIT FEATURE ON THEIR INITIAL ENTRY.
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
DOING SO WILL KEEP THIS THREAD MANAGEABLE AND ALSO MAKE IT EASIER TO TRACK EACH MEMBER'S DAILY PROGRESS.

An easy way to find your initial entry is to hold down the CTRL key and your F key. This will bring up your FIND box. Enter your SparkName and hit enter. This will take you to your first entry. Click on the EDIT MY POST button and add your steps for that day. Then just click on the POST MESSAGE button and you have edited your entry! If you have any questions/comments please send me a SparkMail. emoticon again!

A BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE BEEN USING THE EDIT BUTTON WHEN YOU POST!!! I continue to be very impressed by your daily steps! emoticon

I love all the activity on this thread! Welcome to each and every one of you and I hope that you accomplish your goals this week. I WOULD LOVE TO GIVE A BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO JOINED THIS THREAD THIS PAST WEEK! We remained a fantastic 31 strong this past week. I continue to be amazed at your step counts, all of you should be very proud of yourselves! emoticon emoticon emoticon

We are still #1 in the Computer & Electronics category?! That continues to be amazing! As of the posting of this post, we are now at (drum roll please!) 121,297 members strong! That is 231 more than last week! That is a decrease of 38 members from last week!!! We continue to poke our head through the 121,000 mark and march towards the 122,000 level! This team is truly one of a kind!!!
emoticon Holy moley!

On the news front, FitBit recently rolled out the FitBit Versa and FitBit Ace. The Versa is a less expensive version of their FitBit Ionic (and also has less features) while the Ace is a kid-version wristband that has very fundamental functions. More information can be discovered at www.fitbit.com/
UPDATE: It appears that the FitBit Ace rolled out this past week. This would be the fitness watch for kids. This is great news as our kids need to get outside and play more!

emoticon Welcome to all of our new team members and thank you for joining our weekly steps goal!!!

I love my Charge 2 but I am having a difficult time letting go of my One. My Charge 2 consistently gives me higher step counts which I find disconcerting. I recall that my biggest concern switching from a waist-based to a wrist-based tracker was that my step count would suffer. That has not been the case. In fact, I am convinced that the wrist-based tracker provides me with an inflated amount of steps on a daily basis. I am not comfortable with this; thus, my reason for not letting go of my One. I continue to research my Charge 2 but until I feel comfortable with its data the One will stay with me, too.
UPDATE: This past week, due to my forgetting to wear my Charge 2 for approximately 90 minutes this past week, the difference between my One and my Charge 2 was -3%. I took approximately 12,000 steps during that time period. My Charge 2 made up over 11,500 steps during the week. This wrist-based fitness tracker business still needs some work before I can trust it.

I still continue to lose more weight. I attribute my recent weight loss to a change I made in my eating habits. I love to eat and I never seem to get full. I have to make a very conscious effort to monitor my calories on a daily basis. I begin my day with a light breakfast, some milk and some type of egg sandwich. At work, I don't eat during my breaks, instead choosing to use this time for walks inside our building. I listen to podcasts or music and use my phone to catch up on emails, read, and play games. I find this is very helpful in achieving my daily step goals since I stopped attending the gym (Due to a recent lifestyle change). I drink 6-9 cups of water during the day and eat my "lunch" in the evening. I will have a small dinner later in the evening. I have been also trying to get to bed earlier so this change has definitely helped, too. All of this has resulted in a noticeable drop in my daily calories and my relationship with food. I have literally cut close to 1,000 calories on a daily basis (and sometimes have to push myself to hit 2,000 calories! This is a good change and one not certainly for everybody (or anybody in fact) but it appears to be working for me.
UPDATE: I continue with following this radical plan and it continues to work for me as I am losing more weight. I have dropped 28 pounds in the last twenty weeks! Also, I have done some further research into this new lifestyle of mine and think my method can be classified as fasting. Now I am not starving myself, I am merely choosing to stay away from food for a certain period of time. I am still getting all of my necessary nutrition on a daily basis. I am really loving this lifestyle.

This article addresses this issue but comes to a completely different conclusion; however, there is some very good information:

Once again and especially as we enter summer, it is of greater importance to keep yourself hydrated. Here are some links to articles that address the importance of keeping your body hydrated.

07/14: 20,441 (Active Time: 145-Distance: 9.81-Floors: 3-Charge: 118)

One more week in the books! This was a rather hectic week, involving a need for a lot of walking and boy did it show up this week. I took a grand total of 195,378 steps for a daily step average of 27,911 steps. I was active for 1,492 minutes or an average of 213 Active Minutes per day. I traveled 91.33 miles or 13.05 miles per day on average and I climbed a total of 47 floors this past week. Next week will probably be more of the same so bring it on!
