I dream of the day I can walk 10000 steps /day. That's awesome. I have a physical disability that hinders my ability to do that goal. Right now my goal is set to 2500 steps /day. This week starting today I hope to double my goal.

I was recently promoted to Activities Director at a senior living facility, so I'm getting in lots and lots of steps. I used to get in about 72,000 to 74,000 steps in a week, let's see what I can do now!!!!!

Actual average from last week was 6174 per day. Very proud that I increased my daily average by nearly 1,000 over the previous week. Increasing my daily average goal to 6000 this week.

You will also note that I have set a monthly goal for November. It is the average of the months that I have been keeping track. Keeping track of my weekly steps for a monthly steps has been a huge help. I intend to smash the goal this month!!

I am going to keep my daily goal to 27,000 steps per day and keep my weekly goal to 200,000. I will now track my total Active Time. My goal is to keep it above 7 hours daily. I will also be tracking my floors climbed but as I don't really encounter many steps in my travel I will be interested in seeing how high I can get this number on a daily basis. Keep moving people, I know I will! DON'T GIVE UP!!!

An easy way to find your initial entry is to hold down the CTRL key and your F key. This will bring up your FIND box. Enter your SparkName and hit enter. This will take you to your first entry. I love all the activity on this thread! Welcome to each and every one of you and I hope that you accomplish your goals this week. I WOULD LOVE TO GIVE A BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO JOINED THIS THREAD THIS PAST WEEK! We were 34 strong this past week!! That is seven more than last week! I continue to be amazed at your step counts, all of you should be very proud of yourselves!

We are still #1 in the Computer & Electronics category?! That is amazing! As of the posting of this post, we are now at 29,594 members strong! That is 274 more than last week! That is a decrease of 32 members from last week!. We are nearing the 30,000 mark. That is simply put, AMAZING! emoticon Wow!

I have read a few comments on the message board from team members concerned that FitBit is sending over too many activity minutes to their SparkPeople Fitness Page. I respond to these posts by pointing out that FB syncs over FAIRLY ACTIVE and VERY ACTIVE minutes. These are periods of sustained activity (approximately 15 minutes) where (in my case) more than 500 steps are taken (MODERATELY ACTIVE) or more than 2,000 steps are taken (VERY ACTIVE) are registered by your FB. While all of these periods may not be "exercise" by definition they are periods of sustained movement and consequently result in a higher burned calorie rate. I point out that this is the beauty of this wonderful device. Not only does it count steps but it provides a wonderful picture of the amount of calories your are burning on a daily basis as a result of your whole day's activity. I realize this may be thought as "cheating" but it really is not. You are moving, you are burning calories, and that is an important component of losing weight/maintaining a weight loss.

Well another week in the books! This past week was a "slow" week but I was able to meet my goals! I took a total of 220,602 steps for a daily average step count of 31,514. I totaled 564 VAMs or an average of 80 VAMs per day. I was active for 54:06 this past week or a daily average of 7:43 and I climbed a total of 55 floors. I am ready to literally destroy next week, how about you?!
