There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.
When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And
maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world
Breathe in love & compassion.. Breathe out peace & forgiveness.

Yeah Carol! Great goals!

One goal I haven't mentioned is trying to cut down on alcohol. I did pretty good over the holidays, except for the bourbon/rum balls, and am off to a strong start in January. I'm aiming for no more that two drinks a week. I know I will have less than this, but somehow giving my self the option to have more keeps me from feeling limited. I plan to reward myself this weekend with some new shoes:)

I will work on reinforcing the good habits I have learned and have started to slack off on. I will add more exercise and activity. I will try to get 8 hrs of sleep a night.

It is one month until our 1.5 year SparkVersary. The 6 month point is probably a time when many of us saw some significant progress. For me, it is when I made my goal weight and had lost a total of 40 pounds. I am challenging the members of my class to work extra hard over the next month to have something to show in February. Share your plan here and in February I think it would be nice to post a before SparkPeople photo and a current photo or a 6 month with SparkPeople photo and current photo.

Share your goals for the next month and any additional goals these activities will help you achieve.
I have maintained my goal weight, but would like to get down at least 5 more pounds (and a pants size) to my best weight in the next month. To do this, I have begun tracking my food again, am taking the January challenge, weight training, and getting as much cardio as I can including running, biking, elliptical trainer, walks with my family, and will try some Zumba and pole dancing. I will also try to get regular amounts of sleep as I know this helps in my progress.

Hope to hear some of you answer the call for this challenge. Good Luck!

Julie
