started October: 196
finished October: 189.5
6.5 lbs.
Beat goal by 2.5 lbs.
Thanks Spark People and Slowest Losers, couldn't have done it without you (and I worked really hard, but also established some lasting habits, I think...)!!!

P.S.
I do believe in "slow is better." My slow just happens to be a little faster this month...

I had some more ups and downs this month and wound up with another gain but I'll be working to make November a better month. Congratulations to everyone that lost weight or maintained. Some great numbers and success stories there for the team emoticon emoticon emoticon

For those that hit a few speed bumps this month (like me), we know that we can do it and that we're not giving up!

I started the month at 250 pounds and now weigh 248 pounds. I would like to have lost more but 2 pounds is great!!! How is everyone else doing. The month is about over so don't forget to come back and report in.

Not doing too well during July and August, I decided to go it alone for September and not set a goal. Well that didn't work either so I'm ready to sign on for the October Pounds or Inches Challenge. I would like to lose 2.5 pounds this month.

I would like to lose 4 lbs this month, but with my birthday this month I figured I should be a bit more realistic and shoot for 3 (maybe I can control myself!) emoticon

After my internal debate (You can do it! vs Let's be realistic!), we compromised at 3.5lbs. I'll use this month to see how I can handle the next 2 months of Holidays!

My weight loss has been HORRIBLE! I would like to lose 1/2lb. to 1lb. each week during the month of October, which means that I'm shooting for a 2-4lb. weight loss.

The last week of September the scales have been really good to me however pretty much I have just relost what i had mananged to gain....lol....

I want to loose another 3.5 to 4lb in October and get to my goal...

The scale hasn't been my friend this month either!! Too many parties and other activities that had too good of food. On one of my teams, I am running a lose 12 # in 12 weeks that takes us through the holidays. I have only gained so I am looking forward to Oct. and maybe get the scale to go the other way. I have lost 1/2" around the waist but need the scale to show me!!

My goal is to lose 4 lbs for October. Whoo Hoo!!

I am completing my first month on Spark People and have lost almost 8 lbs so far. I don't expect that rate to continue, but I think 12 lbs total in two months is reasonable.

In addition to my pounds to lose goal, I am committed to exercising everyday on my TreadClimber in October as I have in September!!

SEPTEMBER is about over and it is time to plan for OCTOBER. First though, don't forget to update the SEPTEMBER Pounds or Inches thread with your month's results.

For this OCTOBER challenge we each set our own goal. Some of us use scales. Others keep track of inches or centimeters. For this challenge you set your own goal for OCTOBER and then let us know how you're doing. Check in at the end of the month or more frequently if you wish. Remember that we're the SLOWest Loser team so do not make a goal that is too BIG or FAST! Be realistic.

How many pounds or inches would you like to lose in OCTOBER?
