I watched only 1 hour, but then we only ever watch about 3 hours per week anyway... we're not TV fans, too busy with life!

I tried to visit my friend, but her baby got a cold at daycare and didn't want people around. I ended up watching a rugby game with my husband. I failed at this challenge.

I did it! Even watching two tired grandchildren on a hot, hot day. We played a memory game on the floor, made play dough and they went outside when the shadows fell while I prepped our dinner. We had chocolate soy milk, Laughing Cow cheese and multigrain crackers for snack and they were the happiest yet!

Great challenge, I think I will try it again next Saturday.

How did it go for others?

This won't be a problem for me. Don't watch much TV anyway and I hate it on during the day, unless, of course, our football team is playing! I have a very busy day planned tomorrow - starting with a hike in the woods with my dogs, then off to the gym, then some house cleaning - then a 2 hour trip to meet old friends for dinner. Hope to have a great day!

I can't do this one at all. Hubby is retired and he has the TV on from the time we get up til we go to bed, every day. Even if I don't watch it, I still hear it.

Yikes, okay! Sure glad that does not include the computer. I am reading the Game of Thrones so would rather read anyway. I'll go visit Jewel on that day. She is a neighbor who is a fabulous gardener so I'll go comiserate with her on the lousy summer we are having.

Okay, this one is not going to work for me as Saturday night is the ONLY night I do watch TV. It is a family thing we do once a week and watch a cheesy sci-fi movie. The rest of the week I prefer to read and/or cook to make my lunches for the rest of the week, etc.

So, sorry, not going to be able to do this challenge. It is a family thing we all look forward to each week.

I've already failed this one. I am working on Saturday and I plan to take a client to see a movie. I can't disappoint her because of a challenge. emoticon

If it's any consolation, I canceled cable more than a year ago, so I don't watch TV at home. I do watch shows on Hulu sometimes, though. emoticon

This will be quite a challenge but I will do my best. My 6 year old grandson will be here this weekend so I'll take him to the park to play and also go swimming. I really prefer to have the radio on during the day but my husband is a TV-aholic!

I remember our first TV...B/W and was only on for the news! I rarely watch TV except at the gym when it is already on. We don't watch movies either! I have plenty to do so I'll log in at SP and do "my thing" and then get some baking done and put it in the freezer!!!

oh no! I was not clever enough to think of computer sucking up our time.

hmmm... is it too late to add No Computer time to this challenge, unless it is to log in to Spark People?

Well, my dad considered TV a luxury, so he took them in trade from customers who couldn't otherwise pay their bills and kept them until they broke. Yes, we spent the day together, did chores, read books, took drives to new places, explored parks/outdoor areas and generally did stuff that cost only the gasoline and a packed lunch. Since they always fed us kids anyway, that did not count for extra expense.

Also, no TV - no computer. I rarely watch TV even now, but oh, I can sit for HOURS at my computer!

Remember the time when we didn't have TVs? I don't remember, but I've heard great stories about how the family would spend weekends together, gardening, or playing board games, or simply relaxing with a great book.

For this one day challenge, and I hope we all do it, there will be no television or movie theater for the whole Saturday. Instead, dust off that old novel, visit a friend, bake something tasty with your kids, go to the park, take the dog for a walk, take a drive, etc....There are many options.
