Thank you to those of you that joined this challenge. I have to admit it was easier than I thought. I think I'm going to continue doing it.

Hey, I did do this very thing all week at college to insure I got some cardio in despite being in a classroom for 6 1/2 hrs. each day and during breaks actually used the stairs and walked around campus during my 1 hr. lunch breaks. Even on a normal basis when I have to run errands I always park far out and hike my way in to the store to get those extra steps in.

Wish there was shade at the back end of the work parking lot.

I like this. I usually park away from most of the other cars for my car's sake, but I'm going to try parking even farther away.

i do that all the time. I also park my carriage--in the grocery store-a few aisles away and walk around the produce dept and make constant trips to the cart--that gives me more steps and more walking.

This was hard for me yesterday, I was late going to the doctor and sticking to the challenge I parked all the way in the back of the hospital parking lot. Still, I had to wait near an hour to see the doctor. But I feel good about the extra walking.

Yesterday when I got to work, all the lots were full, so had to park in the "back 40" about a halfmile away.

DH and I went out last night to our granddaughter's softball game and parked in the parking lot furtherest away from the ball diamond. By the time the game was over, we were sweating like crazy and wished we'd parked closer!!! The temp was 97. But we got it done!

It's not a challenge if I do this all the time! At least in parking lots. I work in a house and I'm not allowed to park farther away - I could get towed.

The walking around the block I can try.

A women is often measured by the things she cannot control.
She is measured by the way her body curves or doesn't curve, by where she is flat or straight or round.
She is measured by 36-24-36 and inches and ages and numbers, by all the outside things that don't ever add up to who she is on the inside.
And so if a women is to be measured, let her be measured by the things she can control;
by who she is and who she is trying to become.
Because as every women knows, measurement

I've just started doing this. I think it's a great way to add steps to my day. It's a bit of a challenge when it's over 100 degrees outside, but I'm going to stick it out.

I've been doing this for years. A friend and I were just discussing this last night, as she had to walk to my car to get something. She said "That's okay, I need the exercise" emoticon

For this challenge, let's park all the way at the end of the parking lot, and walk those extra few steps to work, the grocery store, the post office, etc. Where ever you have to drive and park, park the furthest you can.

For those of you who don't drive, join us by walking once around your block twice per day.

Let's start this Wednesday and go for a whole week, Wednesday to Wednesday.
