I would definitely check the websites for the specifics on the water stops and porta-potties. There are plenty at the start between the marathon start and the 10 mile start, so I always use them as much as possible before getting in the corral.

With no Metrodome, it can get really chilly before starting, so plan with your throw clothes.

The website should also have the medical locations but it's important to note that the first official drop-out zone isn't until mile 9. I had a friend drop out at mile 3 last year and they had to wait until the sweeper bus came through to take them to mile 9 for the drop shuttle back to the Capitol - a long wait when you aren't feeling good!

You can exceed what you think you can do.

Way to go on your first! I will be running the 10 Mile. This will be my 3rd TC event and I have been very impressed with the way they manage things. It's safe to assume that whatever they promise on the event site will be how things actually are (which is more than I can say for some other major events that happen around here). Best of luck!

I figured I would find someone since it is such a popular race! Way to go for running it for the 5th time! I hope I can say at the end that I want to run another one. Right now, I am not so sure. Training is very time consuming and takes a lot out of your body.

How far apart are the water stops and port-a-potties on the route? My last half marathon they had it every 2 miles which seemed like a lot for 13.1 miles. But I would think they would do that for the 26.2. Are there medical spots throughout as well? I have been training with trying to go 4-8 miles before taking water, etc...but you never know what your body is going to do on race day.

(I suppose I can just look at the website as well... LOL!)

Yes ma'am, will be running it for the 5th time. This is the 3rd year of the "new route" that takes into account starting further away from what I like to call "new Metrodome".

I'm going out of the country today through next Tuesday but send me questions and I'll answer all I can.

It's one of my favorite marathons!

Anyone running Twin Cities Marathon this coming October? I will be there for my first full marathon. Looking for guidance from anyone that has run the route before.
