It looks like we didn't have much interest in the prize challenge during March. But, I'm glad CAKEMAKERMOM decided to join halfway through the month! I've already taken a walk in the park, mostly to check out if I can cut across the grass to get to the church where I'm going to donate blood later today so I don't have to walk in the road to get there.

My action step for today was completing a bunch of small work-related tasks that I had been procrastinating getting done for a long time. It was stressful, but I made some major progress today! After work, I burned some calories and any left over stress from the day at the gym!

I thought I'd try something new to post for my veggie of the day. I picked Okra and bought a bag of frozen whole okra. I steamed it in the microwave. So... I'm working my way through a pound of cooked Okra for lunch. Glad I tried it, but ya, never again!

I walked the kids up to and back from the Boys and Girls club that's on the other side of the park, a spot that's so much easier to walk to than bother driving and getting in the car, it's actually quicker to walk.

Today my action step was to take a walk this morning after dropping the kids off on the bus, plus I did two sets of loads of laundry, which is about a block to get to the laundry room.

I'm getting into this challenge a little late this month.

I started on Spark a couple of years ago. I originally did it to lose weight, focused on the scale number and successfully lost over 50 pounds. I've stopped tracking everything and had a bit of a setback when I originally stopped. I also had my son with a severe illness in November, creating a hard time for me to focus on myself anymore. I'm back to being able to finding myself again and am working on nutrition and exercise again, especially since it's warm out again. I'm taking pictures of my food this year for portion control and making sure to keep my fitbit over 5000 steps a day. I'm still near that 50 pound mark, I'll be back to it in a few pounds.

To keep myself going, I put it all in a blog daily to make sure I can see my thoughts later, plus I know many people are following my blogs, so I feel like I need to keep on blogging or let people down that I haven't blogged for the day.

My final goal is to lose that last bit of weight and to make myself stronger physically. It's no longer really about the number on the scale, but that smaller number does help.

You also get 1 extra point each day if you mention a specific fruit or vegetable you ate that day. This can be in a separate post or the same post as your action. The fruit/veggie mentioned doesn't count as your daily action above, unless you separately mention something like tracking your nutrition, eating healthy, etc. Again, you can do this as much as you like, but you only get 1 point for each day you post a fruit/veggie. The same timing rules apply for this (only post for something you've already consumed). An example would be "I ate an apple today."

Additionally, you'll receive 1 point for each day you make a full post in the March Goal Board Challenge. You can check out that thread for the instructions and specifics, but it's basically just typing out something that you see on your SparkPeople Start Page under Goal Board Check-In. Depending on the day, this could end up being the same thing you post as your daily action above in this thread, just follow the appropriate posting format for each thread.
