I am using several health programs to track my eating and exercise. I found that the easiest tracker is My Fitness Pal. I have lost 5.5 pounds in just a couple of weeks and I never had it so easy before.

Still been shopping the Mediterranean Way, which is easy since I set my Nutrition tracker to meal plans and no red meat. I add a red meat to my meals three times a week.

I went to My Trackers, nutition tracker, show meal plans, edit nutrition goals, no red meat

Today's meal plan is this...

cream cheese, raisins, pita, tea

cheddar,shrimp,strawberries, dinner roll, tea, russian dressing, spinach

cheddar, vegetarian chili, pears, onion, cornbread, sour cream

white meat chicken, lettuce, balsamic vinegar

1,345 calories / 150 carbs / 37 fat / 110 protein / 25 fiber

My nutrition tracker eating plan (minus red meat) came out well today since I had most of the foods already. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I agree with you that craving sweets or fats is squelched after eating this way. Energy level is high, too, for fueling exercise. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

After reading about the Mediterranian diet and the region of the Mediterranean I decided to put my nutrition tracker's meal plan on the "no red meat" selection. But I will have a red meat every Saturday for lunch. I like using my tracker's meal plan because it makes me organized with its daily check list and its weekly grocery list. The Mediterranean region has over 400 types of eatable fish! I use the oil blend that is Pompeian OlivExtra Premium, Mediterranean Blend; canola oil, extra virgin olive oil, and grapeseed oil (ideal for salads, sauteing and frying). The flavor is so good than when my meal plan calls for an oil I use it. emoticon emoticon emoticon

It is so good to hear from you. I appreciate all you have to say and offer us.
You are amazing!!! Maintenance is the place to be, but as you know it remains hard work and dedication.

I also like my plate to look colorful. After all, we get a nice diversity of food groups and vitamins.

As for me, I completed my Ph.D. so I am back stronger than ever! Now I am seeking work, but enjoying some time off.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on one of my very favorate teams! But, here I AM! Yay!

I want to make a personal announcement, I have, after 5 and some years on SparkPeople achieved “MAINTENANCE!!!”

Did I just saythat!? Lol. It seems a liitle bit like dream, “Wake up, Elona! “ (pinching myself!). Yup, it is “real!”

Now comes a new era, phase and lifestyle. I have to be very careful with myself. Most of my younger life Before, I was 40 years old, particularly as a child, I was medically “Anorexic”. Thank goodness I had a childhood problem not having much appetite, hunger and average weight and nothing Worse. I did NOT have the “psychiatric illness “Anorexia Nervosa”. The potentially fatal, ‘body dysmorphic’ biocemical mental illnes. I was just born with a messed up brain chemistry which caused my weight to be at low normal on a regular basis. My mom did the best she could teaching me what clean eating is and timely meals. At age 18, I finally got it. I learned to eat healthy food and developed healthy eating habits independently. That alone made me feel physically and emotionally better. Nevertheless,always need to pay attention I eat adequate amounts of macros, on schedule, and remember to take my daily multivitamins, extra vit B complex, extra calcium, vit D and Pre-biotics/Probiotics every day. Not such a bad deal, to be honest. After age age 40, I began to have back problems, developed chronic pain and started eating to lessen pain (in orther words, my hunger increased dramatically and I began the bad habit of “emotional eating”). I finally, got a handle on my emotional eating habits and replaced it with “positive self talk and daily regular exercise. To be honest it was’t easy. It was one of the hardest things I ever attempted. With the help of my doctors, therapists and all the great member and wonderful program SparkPeople I acieved a normal weight and learned a way better lifestyle. When I hit the magical number 130 lbs. the ugly head of “Anorexia” kicked in. I thought it might be temporary, but it has lasted more than a few weeks. So, I now have to pay attention to why and how “Anorexia” has returned. I am working with my doctors and therapist with this issue. It complicates “maintance” considerably and is, in effect become a monkey on my back. I don’t believe I have any more problems than any other member here. It just is my personal challenge. I own it, I admit it and I’m addressing it.

One thing I have to say, if it was not for all the enticing, colorrful and delicious Mediterranean meal plan it would definitely be more difficult. There is nothing worse than boring and bland food, staring at me at the dining room table. Lol. It sure makes my life much easier.

Thank you, members for all yiur support on thus team and thank yiu, Resmarie for caring enough to starting up The Mediterranean Team and keeping it going.

Doing good and loving it!
I eat bulgur wheat, whole wheat couscous, and lentils flavored with olive oil, fish 3-4 times a week, salads, veggies and fruit.
I do about 6 hours of exercice a week.
I also lost a pound this week.

I have been having salad with feta cheese. I have been eating legumes and veggies and following the other foods I am suppose to be eating on The Mediterranean Way. I have been exercising. I did lose one pound this week. emoticon
