My weekend went really well. I planned ahead and only ate healthy things. At the Irish Party there were appetizers... they could be so easy to just eat and eat and eat! But I only had one with my drink. For dinner I had one portion of corned beet, 1 carrot, 1 turnip, 1 parsnip, 1 piece of cabbage, & 1/2 red potato. Salad was a scoop of cottage cheese with a strawberry. Dessert was a decadent Guinness Chocolate Mousse served in a champagne glass... it was yummy. I took too bites and passed it onto someone else to finish. I nursed my whiskey cocktail (that was watered down from melting ice) most of the evening, and for dinner enjoyed a nice red wine.

In preparation for this event I ate a good breakfast and in place of lunch I ate an apple before we left for the party.

I was pleased with my choices. Parties are the hardest. All the food and good company! If you plan ... it can be done without the stress of going over board!

Isn't anyone else going to join in then?
Today I had mackerel and wholemeal toast, marmite cereal bar, tomatoes, flax, plum, lemon, lime and a cup of tea for breakfast. Naughty chocolate dipped oat flapjack for snack.
Smoked rainbow trout, herb salad, tomatoes, beetroot,scallions, boiled new Jersey Royal potatoes in jackets, mixed sprouted beans, light mayonnaise, flax and a spinach falafel.Yum!
Followed by fresh strawberries and ice cream for lunch. Wholemeal hot cross bun with lemon tea for snack.
Chicken Tikka, mushrooms, brazil, almond and cashew nuts followed by fresh blackberries for dinner.

I am sending a smiley face to someone special!

For breakfast- 2 slices wholemeal bread one with marmite other with a lot of houmous. Slice of lean ham. Flax meal. Dried apricots and prunes. Lemon & lime squeezed in hot water with sweetener. Cup of tea with skimmed milk. 2 slices low fat cheese for snack with a biscuit. Spicy chilli pasta sauce wholemeal spaghetti with sweet corn, brocolli and guacamole followed by strawberries with Greek yogurt and ice cream for lunch. Wholemeal hot cross bun and coffee for snack. Hard boiled egg, cress, wholemeal bread and flax, herb salad with tomatoes and beetroot, followed by 2 yellow plums, raisins,brazil, almond & cashew nuts. And cup of earl grey tea with skimmed milk. Throughout the day I drank 10 glasses of water as well.

April 8-10 Weekend Challenge
