Ok, I did it! Kind of. I didn't go out alone, but it was definately out of my comfort zone. My dd and I each had significant BDay's last fall (21 and 50) but weren't able to go out together for our special planned outing till now. Here's what we did...we both dressed up in colorful dresses and big colorful, silly hats to Applebee's for dinner. I felt silly, cuz I'm more the quiet type myself. But, it was still great fun.

For all of you who made strides to step out of their comfort zone I salute you! It's never easy, so if things don't go according to plan and you don't do what you've set out to do, well, do it tomorrow, or next week or next month. Just don't give up!! emoticon

I'm not doing so good with this one this week, b/c hubby is home on a stay-at-home-vacation. I realize as I write this that that really just sounds like an excuse. I seem to be doing everything a week later than what you've said anyway. LOL.

I didn't eat out alone, or go to the movies alone. Those are kind of hard for me to do alone. Because any time I can get alone, I'm generally shopping for the house. (I have my son all the time!) However, because the purpose was to step away from your comfort zone, I wrote a blog that was brutally honest. It made me feel naked and though I was uncomfortable with it, I left it published for all to read. That was my stepping out of the box. Not quite what you asked for, but it was my outlet for your weekly challenge.

Tricky Tracy

You ROCK Pixie!! I feel as you do! How about a weekend getaway by yourself or take a class at the gym that you've never taken before OR a cooking class at a local adult ed center. Keep sparking it!

Hum, I do too much by myself as it is. I decided a few years ago not to miss out on the things I love through waiting around for someone else to take the initiative. Dining out alone, movies alone, even the theatre alone are not uncommon for me. As for working out, I prefer to do that alone... I need to think of a more creative way to meet this challenge... try to think of something else that is outside my comfort zone... any ideas?

Since I'm nerving myself up to take a healthy back class this week, I'll be reaching this challenge (I hope).

Whew! You've made it through your first month! Great job! Let me ask you all something? Are you shy? Do you have this fear that everyone is looking at you and judging you? Do you hate going places alone, like the gym? Yeah? Me too, until I realized that most people are far too involved in their own workout or stuck in their own thoughts to be paying attention to me. How did I do this? I forced myself out of my comfort zone. I pretended to be brave and fearless until I actually became brave and fearless. So, for this week's challenge I'd like you all to do something alone and outside your comfort zone. Go to an afternoon movie by yourself. Have a meal in a restaurant by yourself (it's ok to bring a book or newspaper), or go to the gym by yourself (MP3 player is a must!). The more you learn to depend upon yourself and not on others the easier it will be to be accountable to yourself. I know this exercise may seem impossible for some of you, but I guarantee that if you can master this the sense of accomplishment will be empowering. YOU ALL HAVE THE POWER!!! Good luck! Libbie (IAMSHE-RA)
