My long germ goal is for everyone in my family to eat healthier and exercise more automatically on their own. Watching portion sizes and eating not so healthy foods occasionally is perfectly alright, but I don't want to be the food police forever.

Hi Elena

Great goals!

SP's nutritional recommendations are only for adults, so you'd be better off using a site like kidshealth.org for info specific to their needs. You can track for them, but they can't use the site since you have to be at least 18 :)

My goals for the family are healthy snacking. More homemade snacks less store bought. More fruits and vegetables for the kids. Less sugar, more whole grains. I am also planning on limiting time indoors now that it's summer. More activities outside either all together or just getting the kids outside in the yard and more active.

I have a question , I think this is a good place to post it......I was thinking of setting up a spark page for each of my kids to track their meals and see where their nutrition is lacking. Does Spark take into account a child's nutritional needs and the extra calories and nutrients they need or is it based primarily for adults???

My long term goals that I set to accomplish with my family is to be sure healthy snacking is a must even with Dad who tends to love buying junk food for the kids.

Keep up with family exercising such as walks/jogs and outdoor backyard play.

To get the volleyball net up once it stops snowing lol.

Also to keep encouraging the kids to pick out the fruits and veggies they like at the health food store. My children all love fruits and veggies so that is good for us.
