I am hoping to get into gardening this year. I want to know exactly what is in my produce and a bonus is the savings in money. Right now I've been making weekly trips to my local farmer's market to ensure freshness and that there are minimal amount of chemicals as possible in my produce. I've also been reading ingredients in the products I buy. If I am not sure what an ingredient is or if the first 3 ingredients aren't whole or healthy, I put the item back down.

I agree. I figure once I get myself under control then hopefully they will follow just by watching and copying. Just talking to my five year old about health and nutrition has helped him to limit himself. He will have a cookie and say, "that's enough sugar for me." It's so cute!

I too am currently working on eating whole foods and less processed foods. For me its easier, I think its going to be harder to wean the kids off of the processed.

How do you feel about eating whole foods and eliminating chemicals? Have you tried?

a separate goal that I have is to focus on eliminating processed food. I feel so light and satisfied when I do. Then that chemical addition pops up and drives me crazy. Some people say that once they "eat a bad meal", they disregard the rest of the day. Not for me. Once I have something that contains msg for example, like those cup of soup things. I crave more msg. I start thinking of doritos and so on. My kids are more well rounded. They can eat a serving and move on to healthy after. Not me. So my extra goal is to be responsible for my food choices this week.
