I just joined this challenge and the healthy eating part isn't going to be my road block. It's going to be limiting screen time. I have 4 kids, Ages 5,6,14, and 16 and we are all addicted, T.V., Kindles, Laptops, Tablets, Phones. It should be an interesting family meeting. I'm thinking about making a no electronics time zone. Something like between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. We could used this time to do homework, prepare and eat dinner and discuss the day. Do you think that's to much to start with for a family like mine?

I need to sit down and have the family meeting and I need some tips. My husband will be supportive because he hates how much money we spend on eating out. My youngest is only six weeks old so he won't care. emoticon My oldest is such a picky eater and I know she is going to fight me. Anytime I serve anything for dinner that didn't come from a box she refuses to eat (and I have tried everything). My oldest son probably won't be that much of a problem. He eats pretty much anything, and whenever he wants a snack he goes right for the fruit or veggies 90% of the time.

How did you approach this with your family? Not just the food, but the exercising as well? My husband works second shift so if I want my kids to exercise with me I need to do it after school, but we live in NY and with having a newborn I am limited to outdoor fitness choices. Right now my kids HATE exercise and would rather play video games or watch tv.

I'll need to have this conversation with them tomorrow as it's the last time we will all be together as a family until Friday afternoon. Help!!!
