That's great, MLDIZ109!! My family and I are currently in Week 1, also :) That's something I'm constantly working on, making my kids have more responsibilities--I never realized how much my husband and I do for them (even though, now, at ages 9.5 and 6 they can definitely be doing a lot more by themselves!) I'm already giving our 4 year old more responsibility, and it makes a world of difference!

I'm very happy with our Week 1 progress so far. My 2 oldest started baseball and softball practices this week, so that's definitely getting them up and moving! Their practices are 1-1/2 hours long, twice a week. :)

My husband just got back from a 2-day training session for work, so I'm planning on having the family meeting tonight. And we're definitely (slowly) making changes to food choices around the house. Today I packed my oldest son's lunch (but after reading your post, I think we'll be changing that too ;) ) and packed him carrot sticks with a little ranch for dipping, and a pear fruit cup (packed in natural pear juice) along with his sandwich. :)

My kids are all pretty good eaters and will eat just about anything (except my youngest with fruits/vegetables--I think I'm going to have to try the "sneaking fruits/veggies" tips I got from this forum!) But my other two do like healthy things too. It's mostly my fault, it's just more "convenient" to pack the pre-packaged junk. :( But I'm making a conscious effort to change that.

Wishing you continued success into Week 2! :D

1. Reduce screen time. My kids do not get to watch tv during the week (honestly they are too busy with sports or I make them come to the gym with me). On weekends, they have limited time. We agreed that we would have family

2. Hold a family meeting. We discussed health school snacks and places we could go when it's out to dinner night. At a restaurant, we talk about our food choice and if it is the best choice to make, if not how can we make it better.

3. Set yourself up for success. My kids are in charge of packing their bags and my gym bag. We decide the night before what lunch is going to be and get ready then. We keep a small white board on the fridge so when something runs out, it gets written on the board for groceries next week.
