I have tried tea and that did not work and i already only drink 2 cups of half and half in the morning.

I have had trouble going to sleep two nights in a row so I am cutting my morning coffee in 1/2 and trying some sleepy time tea 30 minutes before bed.

got to bed on time last night

I have pleurisy, 2 types of anemia, macrocytic anemia, Iron deficiency anemia, from blood transfusions with wrong antibodies, causes blood to replace daily instead of 100 days, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years. Now formed scar tissue.I am 56 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well. I have new blood clots now,2019.I am on P.S.T. time zone.

snack 1 hour before bed, so do not wake up in the middle of the night
Chamomile tea 1 hour before bed
Go to bed at a regular time when possible.

The big change I made was to use Insight Timer at bedtime. I use one of the meditations for deep sleep. It is like magic. I don't have thoughts running around keeping me awake. I usually fall asleep within 5 minutes. Free app for your phone. Thousands of meditations to try.

Last night failed to meet my bed week 1 bed routine goals because my partner's daughter called from Alaska. I was very glad to talk to her, though, as it had been a while, and I decided deliberately to continue talking and miss one night of routine.

I have always felt that the sight of the clock was helpful to me when I awoke at night, as if it was too early, I would think "too early" to myself, roll over, and try to go back to sleep. I will try, however, keeping the clock face in it's usual place and experiment with this for a few days.

Other things I will try for week 2 are installing a night light or two between my bed and the bathroom and selecting better snacks for taking with my night time medications. I know I need a snack with them or they are too hard on my stomach and I do have to take them closer to bedtime than 3 hours, so a snack about 45-60 minutes before bed is a must. cheese and cracker sounds good--just a little of each.
