emoticon I'm so glad that you are getting better and more sleep! I'm trying to keep the tv off when I wake up during the night. I've never slept well, but I'm trying to do my part.

In the day of my trouble I will call to You, and You will answer me.

That's great! I've noticed a big difference lately too. I used to wake up a minimum of 20 times per night, but now it's down to between 6 and 8 times. SO much better!

I'm at the end of week two in my sleep challenge, and I'm doing a lot better. I'm using my fitbit flex to track my sleep, and at the start of this challenge I was lucky to register 3 or 3.5 hours of restful sleep, even if I had been in bed for more than 8 hours. Now, I'm getting at least 6 hours of restful sleep each night -- an I've had a few consecutive days of more than 7 hours.

The difference is amazing. I have more energy, I'm feeling more "alert" when I am awake, and I'm motivated to get up and do things. Sleeping better has helped me get up and exercise... and exercise has helped me sleep even better.

Some of the things I've implemented from my first two weeks on this challenge: I'm trying to eat dinner at a more "sane" hour so I'm not eating a big meal then trying to get to bed too soon afterwards. I'm not bringing my laptop into the bedroom with me anymore. Having it in here was just too great a temptation when I would wake up in the middle of the night. I would get online and get wrapped up in something instead of trying to go back to sleep. And I've been trying some relaxation / deep breathing exercises to help me fall asleep or get back to sleep. I'm convinced that this is going to be a key thing for me to help me reach my other health goals.
