I work overnights. My goal is to drink 1 or less cups of coffee during the night so that I am able to fall asleep by 10am each morning when I get home. So far I've cut back a lot on the coffee and most days this week I've been asleep by 11-12 so this week I'm going to try for even better.

My goals are to keep a sleep journal. Be in bed by 12 am and up by 8 am. Turn off computer by 11:30pm and get ready for bed. I can't read before bed or I will never fall asleep.

My goal for this challenge is to be sleeping no later than 11 pm (I generally aim for 10:30 to shut everything down and be in my bed) and to get up by 5:30 am at the latest. I have this awful habit of snoozing for an hour each morning because I never feel like I am rested enough. I want to train myself to get up the first time my real alarm goes off and have no more snoozing. I want to feel less rushed in the morning getting my oldest and I ready for the day.

Going to aim for a bed time no later than 10 - 10:30 and attempt to get a good solid 7hrs of sleep everynight this week. Tired of dragging my ass and looking haggard!! I have never had sleep problems but just feel so worn out that it's time to implement changes! :)

I really sympathise, l've had years of not sleeping properly and its torture. I've tried all the regular techniques to sleep, milky drinks, warm bath etc all to no avail. I'm on week two of this challenge and l have managed to stay in bed two nights running instead of roaming the house with a cup of tea at three in the morning. Just keep trying

I have never slept well at night. As soon as I get in bed & get comfortable, my mind takes off in all directions & won't shut down.

I actually started the challenge on Friday & haven't had a lot of luck so far.

1. I started the sleep on Thursday
2. I've gone to bed by 10:30 each night since Thursday
3. Thursday & Friday I didn't take a sleeping pill, but I did try Seratonin - didn't work. I was up & down all night & then tired the next day.
3. Last night I was in bed by 10:30 & did take a sleeping pill. Slept all night.

My goals for this week: Go to sleep at 11 pm. It'll make my 6:30 wake-up time not so bad. Also, I'm going to make a bed-time routine for myself. Maybe some warm tea, a bath or shower, and fuzzy pajamas. It works for my boys, so maybe it'll work for me, too.

Starting week 1 in the middle of the week on a Wednesday - is exactly the kind of chaotic disorganization that might make one lose sleep. Not me. The only thing that really interrupts my sleep is the snorer next to me.

Also this time of year the skylight in the bedroom is a real pain!

I get up at 4:30 a.m. for work and I get home at around 5:00 p.m. - that is, if I am lucky. By the time we get home, eat dinner, etc., it is usually pretty late. I am always trying to find time to get household stuff done at the expense of my sleep. Ideally I would like to be in bed around 8:00 and have about 30 minutes of wind down time (to read and be away from the computer) before I go to sleep at 8:30. Realistically, I usually get to bed between 10:00 and 11:00 and sometimes have no wind down time. My goal for this week is going to be to get in bed by 9:00 p.m. and read until about 9:30, then go to sleep. That is still not early enough but it is a good start!

Week one almost over for me. Tried to make sure I had regular bedtime and got up at the same time. Working for the most part. Last couple days have been really tired so bedtimes are earlier. Writing in my sleep journal, hoping to make it a regular thing. Never was good at keeping a journal. Am hoping this challenge helps me sleep through the night.

I get up by 5:30 am, every morning, and work til 4 pm. I workout for close to two hours a day. Finding a way to be in bed by 9:30 pm is impossible. I have tried. I am also involved with my daughters band and school and sports. I have always had insomnia, since I was a teen. I try to be ready for bed by 10 pm and never tired. I can not go to the gym in the morning, even if I am awake, 2-4 am I usually wide awake.

My goals I have set:
Go to gym 4:30-6. Go to meetings at 7 pm. On game days, go to gym at 8 pm but only for 30 minutes.

Lights out at 10 pm. Turn clock away from view. Keep eyes close and visualize sleep.

Wake up and get up, no hitting the snooze, if time allows, go out for a brisk walked before getting ready for work. Cold air awakens me.

Three days, and I have seen some improvement in my sleeping pattern.

My sleep goals:

1. To turn off all TVs, Computers, etc. by 9 PM.
2. Get kids ready for bed (brush teeth, in pajamas, etc) by 9:30
3. Everyone in bed by 10 PM, maybe read a story if mommy is not exhausted.
4. Lights off immediately and to go to sleep, no latter than 10:30.
5. Wake up at 7:30 every morning and head to the gym before the kids wake up.

I have been more or less sticking to this schedule, although getting up is not my fortay. This week I've been really good about goals 1-4, with the exception of last night, but my focus is to continue these goals and also follow through with goal 5.

I joined this challenge today because SparkCoach lesson is about getting sleep. I don't sleep well. I went to bed 45 minutes ago and I am back up again. I have been having heartburn since Sunday after dinner. Today I was fine until I went to bed, It doesn't matter what time I go to bed because if I am not tired enough I will just toss and turn and get back up anyhow. I don't have to get up in the morning, I don't work or have any other reason to get out of bed except that I want to get up. I usually get up around 7 am. I started my journal this morning and I will finish it, well it is already 12:01 am, so I will finish it after I sleep and get up again hopefully not until 7 or 8 am. I hope this will be me soon emoticon

My goal is to get up at the same time every morning. If I sleep too much, then I mess up the sleep for the next day. So I'm developing a schedule where I go to sleep at the same time every night (or as close as possible) and I get up at the same time in the morning, no matter what. I'm also going to work on developing a relaxing bedtime routine. Right now I listen to music and read but I'm going to try adding a warm shower or bath as well, I've heard that helps.

I am very fortunate because my husband says that I fall asleep within 30 seconds of closing my eyes, so I don's have a problem there. However, I do tend to find things to do at night so that I push my bedtime later and later each night.
My Goal is to go to bed at 9 p.m. and wake up at 5 a.m. in order to get my 8 hours of sleep every night.

Def need this challenge. I think alot of people, especially women, sell themselves short on sleep. I know that when my husband gets home he walks the dogs, relaxes while waiting for supper to be ready, then goes and spends time on the computer, watching tv or whatever. I get home, no break, start supper, do workout then errands or tasks for family, may also vacuum, clean, whatever. Finally get to relax by 930, 10 PM. That is the time I would like to try to get to bed, but am still wound up from my day so end up not getting to bed until midnight or later. And now menopause heat waves are waking me up, husbands snoring, teens wandering in the night, etc....
Goal #1 I really need to change my environment so that I can get to bed earlier.
Goal #2 Get into bed by 10 PM, in order to be sleeping by 1030.

I chose this challenge because I just can't sleep. And I am worn out. I am exhausted.

I am willing to do almost anything to get a good nights sleep. Between my work schedule and commute, kids' sports, church activities, and my own needs to workout, etc... I find that I am needing to workout too late in the evenings, preventing me from sleeping early enough. My hubby snores terribly (has appt next month w/ Dr to see about sleep study). And I have been waking every two - three hours to pee or no reason at all. Augh!

I chose this challenge because I now work a shift that is 3-10. It means there is no more excuse for a lack of sleep except for Friday nights (cause I have to leave for work at 7am on Saturdays). I think I will try to be in bed by Midnight most nights and 11 on Fridays. And I want to sleep the entire night.

I am starting this again, my challenge goals are:

* Keep a sleep diary.
* Plan on being in bed by midnight at the latest.
* Nothing to eat or drink after 9.
* Keep a note pad next to my bed to write down things that wake me up during the night.

There are several issues that are causing my problems, I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and the CPAP does not help. My husband comes home from work late and needs to relax so we tend to eat later than we should. We do not watch TV in the bedroom. I tend to wake up a lot during the night with busy thoughts that make it difficult to fall back asleep, maybe by writing them down it will help me fall back asleep. I have suggested my husband does the same thing. We are also shopping for a new mattress.

My sleep goals are;
1 - Get to bed absolutely no later than midnight.
2 - Establish a bedtime routine for the hour leading up to bed.
3 - Maintain my sleep journal as well as a dream diary.
4 - Be up absolutely no later than 8am this week (will change next week).
5 - Tidy and de-clutter my bedroom (when it's cluttered, I sleep worse).

How many miles till I get there?
How long to wait to meet "me?"
I'm getting there, slowly but surely.
Just 48 pounds, and I'm free.

I am just so tired a lot of the time - I work shifts as a care worker, so regular bedtimes are not possible. But I also tend to stay up too late, and lie in when I've got a day off. I am just going to keep the sleep journal for the first seven days and see what patterns emerge. Then I'll set goals. :)
