Wow, so much good stuff! I am not weighing in right now, my schedule has been crazy and I'm doing this challenge to get myself back on track. I'm feeling great and my clothes are fitting better....I'll weigh myself probably next week.

Thank you GoldeyGrad!! I was totally having the same dilemma and honestly didn't know what would be better for me...see if there was any loss to keep me motivated or not check just in case. I weighed in last Sat and saw a small loss, but I've decided not to weigh in again until I'm done with the challenge; I'll take my measurements at the end too. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who's having issues with that dang scale! :)

I am not weighing in because I don't have a scale. I can tell I am losing inches. Really, that is more important because it means I am losing fat!

At first I wasn't weighing myself because I kept getting frustrated that the scale would not budge. Today I did and I have lost almost 4 lbs. which makes me feel excited finally seeing results after 3 weeks of daily exercise. After being sedentary and not having energy at all to even start, I feel I am on my way! Starting Week 4 tomorrow!

I weigh in once a week...buy give myself the big "pep talk" about what that number REALLY means! That usually works so that I cam still feel good about all my non-scale accomplishments! emoticon

I am so glad I clicked on this thread. I weigh myself weekly. However, I am like many people on here who feel defeated and unmotivated after stepping on the scale. Not always from going up or staying the same but by not seeing it go down like I should. I am so proud of everyone who has not weighed in since the beginning of the challenge! emoticon

Good luck to everyone with our last week of the challenge. Make it a great one and remember no matter what the scale says, we finished and can do anything we put our minds too. :)

Well, I have been weighing myself everyday for years. I don't obsess about it, I just like knowing where I am and it has not been good. But slowly, because of SP, the numbers are starting to come down.

I have been with SP for nearly 3 yrs. I just had my physical at the beginning of the month and I have lost 7 lbs in 2 years emoticon . All total I have lost about 15 lbs. I see if as a lifestyle change. Exercise is not my problem, I usually log 1000 minutes per month. It's my eating habits that hold me back. But, I'm getting there.

When I see the numbers on the scale go up, I usually, can figure out what I eat and when I eat it that got those results. I live alone and sometimes out of boredom I will snack late at night. Wow, writing that just now actually, made me realize that is why I do it. Never thought of it as boredom before.

Anyway, giving up is not an option. I am 60 yrs old and not on medication; and plan to keep it that way. I will reach my goal weight taking it one day at a time. If I mess up day, oh well, as long as I'm alive, there is still tomorrow to do it right. And I'm getting it right slowly, but surely.

Blessings and Peace

This is a very interesting thread..thank you all for sharing your thoughts. Along this journey, I'm leaning towards focusing on the "more" instead of the "less". Of course, I want to be less on the scale. But I find it more motivating (and perhaps healthier overall) to think: What is increasing now? What MORE (not less) is happening? Well, I can do more cardio. I can do more push-ups than I could 3 weeks ago. I choose to eat more vegetables. I choose to spend more time truly enjoying life instead of parking in front of the tv mindlessly. And in those moments when I truly embrace these mores, I find life itself has become so much more.

Hang in there everyone! :)

I have found that I can workout, eat right, and feel awesome about my progress, even motivated to do more than what's on my schedule for the day, and my good behavior can really tempt me into getting on the scale after some consistent weeks, but every time I have gotten on the scale I am disappointed because it never shows me what I think I earned. I haven't been on a scale by choice since I had to log in my starting weight. I even tell the nurses at my appointments that I would prefer not to know my weight when they mark it down because it ruins my motivation. If I don't see or hear what I think I've worked for, then I throw my hands up and don't eat well or exercise and that's the worst thing I could do. Thus why I've started and stopped dieting SO many times. Now it's about a lifestyle change that is permanent for me so it doesn't matter what the scale says at all. It matters that everyday I am aware of what I am doing to be healthy and that I am actually excited about taking more steps to where and who I want to be. Others are motivated by the inches and pounds lost, but I'm not one of them. I was so happy to see I wasn't alone in not weighing. Thanks for posting. Instead of wishing everyone good luck I'll wish you all a motivated day because luck has nothing to do with it. Go Spark People! emoticon

Im so happy to see this thread. I too decided lat week sunday to stop weighing. I was giving that little number too much power over my mood and motivation, because I would be discouraged when I didnt see a change. Let me tell you the last 4 days have been difficult! I really think I started to become addicted to weighing.
Trying to kick the habit :)

I am usually an obsessive "weigher"...with no results or negative ones...I am on week three day three and this morning I hopped on (out of habit) and wasn't happy. Just like the rest of you I had been feeling great. No more scale for me! Thanks for this post! emoticon

I don't weigh in either. I see my doctor about once a month for B12 shots and I get weighed then. That is enough for me. Good Luck to All!

I'm not weighing until I finish. I fixate WAY too much on the numbers. My clothes are feeling better. I'm tempted, but will not give in.

I am with AshleyLQ & happy to hear that I am not the only one wanting to weigh.
I have actually stuck to this boot camp and anxious to wait for week 4.
I can see in the mirror where the toning is working. However, when I got on the scale at my Diet Center this past week I had lost .5 in 2.5 weeks. :( Just unmotivates me. So, no more scale for me.
So keep eating right, exercising and let the clothes tell you how you are doing. :)

Keep up the good work. Together we will do this!!

Yeah - my behavioral therapist recommends I only weigh when I check in with my surgeon's office - every three months. I think I may start doing that. I think I'll just put the scale away. I've done really well staying off of it this month though! My husband told me this morning that he's noticing changes in my figure - I'm starting to firm up. Hallelujah to that!

You are definitely not the only one. I weighed in one week into the challenge simply because I hadn't weighed in since Christmas... but I refuse to weigh in again until I complete this challenge. I hate the scale. Things evil. Even when I'm feeling fantastic, have great energy, getting in my workouts, water, and good foods, I can get on the scale and be instantly crushed and unmotivated. That's no good! I'm definitely a wait as long as possible before stepping on it kind of girl.

I hadn't weighed myself for a couple months and when I did...it wasn't good!

I'm going to weigh once a week (I used to weigh myself every day and that's too much for me!) during this challenge. After the first week I lost 3 pounds. After the second week I gained .8 pounds but I think it's a combo of muscle gain and still needing to tweak my eating plan.

I'd like to between 1/2 to 1 pound a week.

Best wishes to you on reaching your goals!

I promised myself I wouldn't weigh weekly - at least through this challenge. I usually do though. I don't know - I just want to see what 28 days away from the scale can do for me. :-)

I have 16 pounds to go to get to my surgeon's goal weight. But I'm 1000X healthier!

I didn't weigh for the first 6 weeks of my weight loss, remain healthy journey. I really didn't want to know how much I weighed at that time. Now I weigh once a week, or even every other week. I am now down to needing to lose 9 pounds to reach my weight goal--but have a long way to go to be even somewhat toned. My husband says that I've lost enough weight, I just need to tone. I just want to be a healthy, average weight.

I promised myself at the beginning of this challenge that I'd stay away from the scale for the entire month. I know that with strength training, and buildilng muscle mass, that my weightloss will be screwy. I'm more concerned with losing body fat% - the last time I saw my surgeon, I was at 41% body fat - my goal is to be under 40%. I just feel like I'm the only one that's not following the scale for this time period.
