My goal is to lose weight of course, and find myself again. I'm buried under mommyhood, and all these extra pounds. I don't know who I am anymore!

My goal is to try and kick-start my weight-loss program and get some momentum going. I have found in the past that if I can get on a good routine for 2 weeks then it becomes much easier and the temptations and the urge to skip the exercising just isn't there.
So the goal: stick to the prescribed program; begin tracking my food; and think positive! I know how great it is when the successes come! emoticon

This is part of my year long program to shed 35 lbs and raise money for The Optimist Theatre Group. Today I did the bootcamp video and walked for an hour. I am hoping to be consistent and actually knock all that weight off.

I am making these goals just for me. I have "dieted" most of my adult life and I am done! I am reading the Spark book and I plan to make life changes - starting this year: 1) Lose 15 lbs. and KEEP IT OFF, and 2) do some form of exercise daily. I am 62 years old and I now know the importance of good health-too bad I did not learn that when I was 20 or 30 or 40 or 50. Then, I thought it was all about weight and that magical number. With the help of this great site and these many people, I will fuel my body and become more healthy, active and happier with my life.

I started using SparkPeople about two months ago. During this time, I have watched what I eat - generally staying between 1200 and 1500 calories and I have really picked up my workout routine - 3-4 days/week Bikram Yoga for 90 min., running intervals 30 min. 3 days/week, full body weights 40 min. 2 days/week. I haven't lost a single pound :( As a matter of fact I've gained 2.
This challenge is just something else I can try, because I'm trying not to give up.

my husband and i recently went on a cruise, actually two back to back. i gained 10 pounds but i wasn't too worried because i go to the gym and work out hard. i figured i'd have the weight off by the end of january. then a few days before christmas, my back went out. i mean i can barely walk, even sitting hurts me, but i have to get up to keep my hips from locking up(another health problem)which causes even more pain. well any way, with no exercise, except going to the kitchen to finish the holiday left overs i've managed to put on even more. plus my daughters decided to practice their baking skills so i get all their samples. but yesterday i decided to get back on Spark and joined this challenge accidentally. but i decided it's not a bad idea. even though i will have to severely modify until i get back to my regular self. i can get on my treadmill and walk as fast as i can (which will be very slow) and i think i can modify the strength training to not injure myself more. i think i can also modify video 1. ANY EXTRA SUGGESTIONS FOR MODIFICATIONS ON ANY OR ALL VIDEOS WOULD BE WELCOME TO ME AND I BET TO MANY OTHERS. THANKS FOR THE CHALLENGE AND FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME. (PS. i'm not a stranger to the hard work it takes to lose weight. i lost 80 lbs a few years back and make it my goal to keep it off. with or without health issues.)

Although I've been on this site for just over a year, this is my first message board post. While I have not reached any of my goals, I have found I live a healthier life and make healthier choices now. (yay!) I actually want to work out and eat better and all that jazz but what I really want is to get rid of this gut finally. It is where I keep most of my fat and i want it gone for good. I have decided to partake in the RACHEL MAC photo challenge and post pictures every week to keep myself accountable as well as participate in this challenge. It helped me kick start my healthier habits last year, I can only wait and see what it will do for me thids year :)

I'm here because, after being on Spark for 6 months, I've lost 25 pounds. But I have only maintained since mid-November. I still have almost 75 pounds to lose, so maintaining isn't good enough for me. I need a re-start. I've reset my ticker, joined this challenge, and am looking to begin new healthy habits like tracking and strength training in addition to my cardio!

emoticon After having unexpectantly losing my job in November, I went into depression and basically fell out of doing all things. It has been a struggle to get to a point of moving forward again. A new year - what a great time to get back on track. As a busy working wife and mother I find it hard to make time for me. This bootcamp challenge makes me see my fitness a priority. My goals are *to get back into the habit of exercise *to track my eating daily *to lose 10 lbs, and kick-start me toward my weight loss goal. emoticon

My primary goal is simply to stick with the program for the full 28 days. I have been on-again, off-again active on the website but have never been consistent, or developed the healthy habits needed to lose weight. While I'd love to be a few pounds lighter at the end of the month, it will be a big success to have exercised daily and stuck with a plan for a full month. Small steps to spark big change!

I want to get back in shape after having 2 kids. My daughter is 18 months and it is past time! I haven't really lost any weight after having her in June 2009. My overall goal is 30 lbs, but I am making sure that I am breaking it down to keep myself on track!

I have tried many different things to lose weight, but have never fully invested myself. My promise to myself is that I will stick with my weight loss plans and will not get overwhelmed.
My overall goal is to lose 30 lbs by June. I'm going to try and and break it down into micro-goals of 5 lbs each month. So my January goal is to reach 220 by February 1st.

My goal is to strengthen and tone my body for the new year. :) I already work out 5 days a weeks, but I want to focus on raising the intensity of my exercise and (eek!) actually increasing my calorie intake a little to try and build muscle. :) I also intend to drink the requisite 8 glasses of water, and to take before/after pics to measure changes in my body.

1. I want to get back in the habit of exercising frequently. I need to get my body moving again so that I can stay flexible and healthy.

2. I also plan on getting more sleep by going to bed earlier - that will give me more energy that I can use towards my exercise goal.

I would like to lose 40 lbs. this year and I am hoping that the 28 day bootcamp will be a good kicking off point. I have a trainer I work out with 3 times a week but due to being hypo-thyroidal my metabolism doesn't work the way it should. I am hoping that if I increase my workouts with the bootcamp it will improve and help. Good luck to all of us and Happy New Year. emoticon
