I have joined this team to re-learn how to exercise. I have been with SparkPeople for quite some time and have yo-yo-ed without real results. I want to break through this barrier I have with exercise and start to see some results with toning.

I joined because I have been a wonderful relationship for the last four months and want to look forward to being outdoors and not feeling self-conscious about my body this summer. I used to be quite active, but over the last few years have turned into a real couch potato. I want to get back that healthy, fit feeling. There is so much on Sparkpeople, I tend to get a little lost as to which team is doing what. I'll try to keep up with you guys,,maybe even give you a run for your money? lol. I am working towards getting more energy and losing weight.

Hello. My goal is to lose weight and be healthy. I don't have any major health problems at this point and I want to keep it that way. I want to be able to do all the activities that I enjoy. I am tired of being a prisoner to food. This is my new beginning for a better more active life!

Two reasons I decided to partake in this challenge:

1 - I'm going on a cruise in the end of May & would like to lose 10 lbs by then.

2 - My 10 year reunion is in September & I would like to lose 50 lbs by then.

Hello and Hola! My goal is to make health and well-being (hawb) a priority in my life. This 28-day challenge should help me form a hawb habit since I've heard it takes 21 days to form a new habit. I'm one of those people that has the knowledge and can teach others, but I don't have the discipline to apply it to myself. It is critical that I get with the program and start making real changes. I want to be a good example to my kids.

My main goal for this first week (and for the entire 28 days) is to be more real with myself when it comes to eating and making better food choices. I really want to stick to my calorie ranges for each meal and lose control when it comes to dessert time!

Greetings guys and dolls!!!

I have lost almost 13 pounds in this fab new year. So - let me begin confessing my food sins for the past week...to help you to understand why I have joined the 28 day challenge.
emoticon

I turned 33 last Wednesday ... emoticon BUT...the celebrations began the preceding weekend...and oh boy did they! My mother, who is an angel, made me a fabulous homemade cake with buttercream frosting made from scratch. I went to the movies and had movie popcorn. Then...on my b-day my awesome boyfriend took me to Benihana for lunch. Then my friend Kim took me for mexican food for dinner. (Pina Coladas all around!)...then the next two days I was at the Crowne Plaza hotel for work training. This meant catered breakfast, lunch and going out to dinner at the Happy Buddah Hibachi restaurant. All in all...it was very rich and fatty foods. I tried to eat in moderation though. I kept up my workouts at the hotel in the mornings...so that made me feel good. But...I didn't lose any weight last week. I stubbornly held onto my current weight. I didn't GAIN though...I'm happy with that.

SO - my reason for joining this challenge is to give myself a jolt to get back on track with my weight loss. I REALLY wanted to be under 200 pounds by March 1st. I don't think that is a realistic goal anymore though...as I need to lose about 8-10 pounds to make that occur. And - I want to lose this weight at a healthy pace so I keep it off.

So - Day 1 - I did 33 minutes of cardio this . I still need to do my 10 minute strength training video though.

Ciao babies! Wish me luck. I wish all of you fellow bootcampers nothing but the best this month and beyond!

Keep on sparkin'! emoticon

I seem to have hit a plateau with my weight loss and need something to push me a little bit. I already do cardio almost every day, but it's time to add more resistance and strength training. Also, i want to be more consistent with my exercise. I would love to lose another 5 lbs.

I joined the team to add more variety to my work outs. I currently bike and jog at least 5 days a week. I never take time out to do any strength training so I am using this challenge to help me get into the groove. Should be fun! emoticon

I am joining this challenge because I feel the need for speed.

I am a blocker on a roller derby team and the minimum skills test requires that I make it around the track 25 times in 5 minutes. I used to be able to do this before I got injured. Right now, I'm sitting at about 20 laps/5 min and I'm fairly certain it is because of two factors: My cardiovascular endurance and the weight I've put on in the past couple months.

No more! Must. Fix.

I'm joining this challenge as a way to give myself a boost as I am starting to get burnt out doing the same exercises over and over. I think this will help me get over my boredom and help me regain my determination and motivation again. I have lost almost 20 pounds since January 1st and I don't want to stop now!

Hi! I've joined bootcamp to jump start myself. I've been on sparkpeople for almost a year, and did really well until right after Christmas. Now I've gotten out of the habit of exercising...I think this will get me back on track and jump start things again!

Hello Everyone. My name is Christine. I have many goals as I start this 28-Day Bootcamp Challenge. First and foremost, I want to feel better about myself. I have very low self-esteem and it has made me extremely depressed. I am hoping that my weight loss will help with these feelings. A friend of mine is also getting married at the end of April, and I would really like to wear a dress to the wedding. At the weight I am at right now, I don't feel comfortable in a dress. I also have a seven year old son, and I would like to be more active with him. Right now, I feel like I am just too lazy and too overweight to get up and do the things I want with him. I was a cheerleader and played softball when I was a teenager, and it is very hard for me to be at this weight and not be able to be active.

My son's wedding is in 28 days. I was doing really well, then I got a bad cold and got into a spiral. This is just the jump start I need to refocus. I will use my Wii 6 days/week, Curves at least 3 days per week and walk 30 minutes every day that the weather allows. I will stay below 1500 calories per day.

I am taking the 28 day challenge to get in shape. Although I watch what I eat, and stay somewhat active, I do not engage in stregnth training or cardio excercises like I should. I hope to increase my stamina, and be able to engage in more vigorous excercises for longer periods of time.

I joined sparks people last year and did miserable with it, because I just would not commit. I didn't blog or set goals. All I did was track my calories, which I thought would be enough. I realize that for me to loose weight I need to commit all the way so I am starting over and committing myself to this weight loss journey of mine. I figure that joining this 28 boot camp will help motivate and encourage me to be consistent with being active. I am actually on my way to join a gym so that will also be a big help and I even found a workout buddy. This time I will loose this unwanted weight. So excited!!!!

Hi! I joined Bootcamp because it is 28 days until the first day of Spring! I would really like to have met my weight loss goal by the summer and this will be a great way to get started.

I need help being consistent with my exercise. These videos are short and I can do them at home which is important to me having a toddler in the house.

I'm looking forward to getting started!

GOOD MORNING ALL

My hope is to use this bootcamp challenge to motivate myself to get some exercise everyday. Its too easy for me to find reasons not to. So i hope that this tool will be just as helpful as the nutrition tracker to keep my exercise awareness high. Best of luck to all of us.

Did you find out how to add the weight loss ticker? If not, go to your Spark Page and click on Edit My Page. Near the bottom of the page is a box for My Weight Loss Ticker. Click on the box that says Show My Ticker and then fill in the rest of the info.

Hope that helps. If not, try the Help button at the top of the page and enter Weight Loss Ticker as your search. They probably explain it better than me!

Good luck with the Bootcamp! I just joined too!

I'm in week one and my challenge goal this week is 30 minutes of cardio for at least 5 days and the 10 min workout video each day. This is a definite stretch for me. I'm not a video person or a strength training person. I know I need it though.

I joined this challenge because I like the idea that I need to do something everyday for the next 28 days. I figure it will help me to form a habit of exercising, even if it is only 10 min/day. My overall goals for the next 28 days are:

-run 3 days/wk
-strength train 2 days/wk
-swim on sundays
-lose 5 lbs
