Hi everyone! I'm training for a half marathon, but I find myself getting bored with my fitness routine. Plus, I need to step it up a bit. My goals are to increase my weekly cardio consistency and maintain my focus toward finishing that half marathon without seriously hurting myself in the process. emoticon

Well I'm here because....I'm pretty much like Marty McFly. I can't really say no to a challenge.
I've been having trouble keeping to a regular exercise regimen, and thought this would be the best way to motivate myself, and a month should really help me just get in the habit.
So, goals:
Get in the habit of moving/exercising every day.
(I want it to just become automatic, part of the everyday routine.)
I'd also like to get to a point that I can jog, instead of walk. I have a bit of trouble with my knees and ankles when I run, and I think that it will stop with regular walking.

I've joined this challenge because I have trouble with motivation and consistency. I'm hoping that having a set plan for each day will help keep me on track and help make working out a habit for each day.

Trying to get back into it. So I am going to do the bootcamp workout each day. Track my food and workout 10 minutes a day

This is my 3rd attempt at this group. I really enjoy it and tend to stick with it. The first two time I had un controllable interference... This time things are pretty settled, so I am feeling good.
My goal is to get a good strength training routine going. Cardio is easy for me since I have two dogs that demand regular walks. lol

I would like to do this challenge in addition to what I am already doing now. I have exactly 28 days before I start work again so I have plenty of time to devote to my well-being! I would love to lose weight as easily as I did when I started about one month and 14 pounds ago!

Trying to incorporate the bootcamp challenges into my routine. Then again rebalancing routine with school starting next week.

I will be working full time, with 2 kids at home while going to school in the evening for the first time in my life and I am not sure how I am going to manage all that I do or love to do.

I know it will come together but it is stressing me in the back of my mind, just a little. I keep trying to take care of things that I think will be of issue before hand so that I will be ok. Making a plan of action. . . .

I'm joining because I need new ideas and accountability. I basically need a "Jillian" living with me! I've been working out a lot, eating well for the most part but not tracking, and getting no results. Obviously, I need a change so here I am!

I'm joining this challenge because I've been feeling unmotivated with my exercise routine. I need to remind myself that some exercise each is better than no exercise at all--even if that means that I'm not getting in a "full" workout.

I'm joining this challenge because I want to make sure I keep up my habits when I go to a new city this week.
I also want to start actually losing again; recently I've been slacking on my diet, so my weight has stayed the same.
I figure if I post here, it makes me that much more accountable!

My goal for the Official 28-Day Bootcamp Workout Challenge is to start an exercise program that I stay consistant with. I have also joined an 8 week challenge and in order to stay true to the 8 week weightloss challenge, and to my teammates I decided this would be a good way to incorporate the exercise my life is lacking. I have never exercised in my life and that is why I'm so unhappy with myself. I was never taught. Now I am teaching myself how to live a healthier lifestyle. I want to start exercising regularly and this is the start of my new lifestyle.

Hi! I've joined this challenge for two reasons. First, I'm getting married in 2 months, and my final dress fitting is in one month. What better time to tone up and maybe drop a couple of pounds? Second, I normally dance a couple of times a week, but we're on our summer break this month. I don't want to get lazy and lose all of the progress I've made, so this should keep me going!

Hi, my name is Phyllis. I failed gym class in 10th grade and I was not overweight then, either. Who fails gym class? I pissed off the gym teacher when I refused to try to climb the rope. I knew I could not do it, never had upper arm strength, so I just refused to try. That's why she failed me. Then I had to take gym in 11th grade with the girls who LOVED gym class, the athletic girls. Worst class ever, same teacher, but I tried to climb the rope, unless I skipped school that day. When I skipped school in high school it was definitely on days I had gym. Anyway, this challenge is to make up for my bad gym class experience and show myself I can do this and I can stick to it. I want some upper arm strength.

I want to lose a little weight in the next month. My boyfriend currently lives 2,000 miles away and we only get to see each other once a month, so I think it's a great motivator to look and feel a little better each time we see each other and the 28 day challenge fits right in to that :)

I've started the 28 Day Bootcamp Workout Challenge to practice getting into a good routine of exercising regularly. During and after the challenge, it's my goal to have developed a sense of commitment, willpower, and a feeling of accomplishment. After my success it's my plan to continue making short term goals towards a healthy lifestyle where eventually, it becomes second nature.

My goals in joining this 28 day bootcamp:

1) Get ST/ Toning sessions into my regular workout routine. I love cardio and have no trouble finding time for it, but Strength training is a struggle!
2) Add some new options to my fitness routine, so I don't get bored and quit
3) Lose some of my last 20 lbs ( goal: 5lbs)

Hi,

Like the poster before me, my main goal here is to develop consistent routines. I am starting a very work intensive academic program on the 23rd and my kids go back to school the 24th so I feel it's now or not until the end of the semester! Because of a shortage, I singed up to lead an 8 week challenge for a spark team I am in, if I am not doing what I need to do I will feel like a hypocrite and not be there for my team like I want to be. I am starting tomorrow, here I go!!

My primary goal for this month is to lose 8 pounds. I have a girls weekend in KC that will include lots of shopping and being 8 pounds lighter would definitely make that more enjoyable.

I would also like to increase the amount of strength training I do.

Lastly, I want to make exercise a priority in my daily schedule (even if its just 30 minutes).

My initial goals are very simple:

- follow the 28-day bootcamp Challenge goals completely for the first week.
- drink 8 glasses of water each day

Of course, the plan is to follow the bootcamp for the entire 28 days, but it is easier for me to stay on track with mini-goals.

I am brand-new to SparkPeople and am really excited to get started! Good luck to everyone!
