As for your belly dancing, look at it this way: You're the very first student to study and learn belly dancing this way, and when you get up in front of the class, just one time and they see you, they will be dumbfounded, as to how you learned when you were not in class, and then if you want to keep it secret, do, or spill the beans to EVERYBODY!

CONGRATULATIONS OLLIE, You DID IT! Who cares if it took 4 weeks, 4 months or 4+ Years? The fact is simply...YOU DID IT! You have no one to credit but yourself.

I really like your view on no excuses and how to get through them. That's something we all need to do more of, and I am no exception.

It feels unreal to check that little "week 4" box as complete. According to the note above the checkboxes, I joined this challenge January 1, 2011. Life has been unbelievably crazy since then, but part of me is still ashamed that it took this long to finish. On the other hand, I DID IT. I have spent the last four weeks building new, good-for-me habits that I'm going to continue for a lifetime. A big part of that has been encouragement from you guys; thank you all.

The biggest and most important change I made is "no excuses." I've made up my mind to see roadblocks as puzzles that require creative solutions, and it's really helped. Now instead of quitting, I stop and try to find ways around whatever is in my way.

A good example from this week is that belly dance class I was so excited about. My babysitting fell through, and with a child like Killian I can't just find another one. I'm not going to be able to make it to these sessions.

I was super bummed about it (and I still am!) but that doesn't have to derail me. Instead, I talked to the instructor (a friend of mine) about what she would be covering over the course of the month, and then found a DVD by my favorite dancer which covers the same topics. My friend is coming over on Friday to visit, and while she's here I'm going to have her check my form to make sure I'm doing everything correctly. It stinks to miss the camaraderie and encouragement that her class would bring, but this way at least I still get to benefit from her knowledge and from the KILLER workout that belly dance provides.
