I just finished Coach Nicole's seated core workout. I found the Jessica Smith videos two weeks ago and I really like her walking interval ones. She also pointed the way to POPSUGAR which is way more intense and challenging, but I'm happy to say that as of Tuesday, I made it all the way through the full 40 min beginner strength training video (with some modifications!)

Thank you, Carol, for your encouraging share! Sounds like you are approaching this journey realistically. Your post pushes me toward a more realistic view of this particular phase of my life.

Grateful for each new day, each new challenge.

Well, here I am. Week 3 of the Official 10-minute daily exercise streak challenge and starting month five of my SparkPeople life changing journey to health and a long life. In the past three weeks I have learned to add some spice to my journey by setting some good goals, working to reach them and mixing things up a little each day to keep it interesting. I am using a Fitbit to track my activity and keep me moving. When I started, I set my goal at 3000 steps a day which was a lot for me and I had difficulty reaching it. Now my goal is 6500 steps a week and I normally go over that by 500-1000 steps so I'm thinking it's time to up the goal. I am working towards 10,000 steps a day but doing it in increments that aren't too hard for me to reach.

This week I have been doing some of Coach Nicole's seated videos. They are perfect for me as I have a bad knee and arthritis in my lower spine. The seated videos are great since I also can't do floor exercises as I have positional vertigo and get dizzy if I get down on the floor. SparkPeople has given us so many ways to be active and get healthy no matter what challenges we face. I have learned that no matter what, I just need to search through all the information, articles and videos to find an answer for everything.

I am looking forward to the rest of my journey. My weight is coming off slowly, one or two pounds a week, but I am getting close to losing my first 30 pounds and am very proud of reaching that goal. It makes my goal weight seem so much closer. Now on to week four to see what awaits and what challenges I encounter. I know I can do it whatever it is. We all can.
