I found myself on the treadmill for 20 minutes today. This challenge has been fantastic as I do a little more each day!

No problems working 10 minutes into my day and usually expand that once I get started. I use the SP fitness videos several times a week for strength training. My new fun exercise this week was water aerobics-60 minutes, not 10 emoticon Continuing with shorter walks while my shin splints heal and 15-30 minutes on the elliptical on days I don't have water aerobics or other cardio.

Loving this challenge.

Completed week 3! emoticon They say it takes 21 days to establish a habit! Loving daily exercise, but learned the value of rest days when I hit a brick wall and couldn't even do 10 minutes on Friday after a 20 day streak. That's why we exercise 5 - 6 days a week. Started a new streak where rest days are incorporated! emoticon Planning on yoga on my rest days until it cools off here and I can walk on Sundays in the park or Wednesdays once the BLC23 starts up September 25! Had fun this week with exercise DVD's, especially 80's aerobics. Will continue in week 4 and beyond. AMAZED I am still in this! emoticon

I have done very well this week! I started a challenge mid last week which is super tough, so instead of doing it daily like I originally planned, I do it every other day and I actually feel pretty good about it. On the other days, there's been frisbee and running around with the kids, yard or house work so I've been active at some point each day!

It's so hot here in AZ right now that I use my treadmill for most workouts. So I thought about other ideas and realized walking in the mall is fun too. Not really outdoors but out of the house and it has stairs to climb at each end.

You cannot succeed if you don't start.

Week 3 went well for me, I typically do at least 45 minutes of exercise a day, then on my rest days do yoga for 20 minutes or more. I really love this challenge! It is a great way to keep us moving emoticon

Week 3 (actually 7, since I'm repeating this Challenge). I still need a little push to do the strength training, but I do enjoy doing the exercises, now. I think by the end of week 4 (8), I'll be looking forward the ST. 8-)
Keep up the good work, everybody!

I am continuing to do my regular workouts and at least 1 Spark People video 5-6 days/ week. So I am close to my goal of 1 hour/ day most days.

This week I've been starting my morning out with Qi Gong and then I either get on the treadmill or do another video. I've been switching between the jump rope with coach Nicole and the two Bollywood cardio videos. I also walk my dog later in the day for 2 miles or so, depending on the weather. Next week I'm thinking about adding some stretching and Qi Gong before bed too. I like to be active and I have energy but unfortunately it all has to be low impact for medical reasons.

I found a new walking trail very near my house today! It has a pond and a natural area through which the trail winds. It was great. I will definitely be using it. Maybe next time I will take my bike so I can see more of it. I also love the Shutterbugs group as it gives me motivation for getting out and about. I can look for photo opportunities that will meet that weeks' challenge.

The next year will go by whether I work toward my goals or not. Time to get to work.

Have missed only one day in two weeks. Motivation is lagging a bit now. Keep having to give myself pep talks for just getting in 10 minutes. The thing is once I get started it usually goes to 20 or more. This challenge was pretty easy up until now. Feel this is when the rubber begins to hit the pavement. I keep telling myself, "How hard can it be to just move purposefully for 10 minutes. Just do it. It will be done in no time". I have incorporated variety which seems to help to have a choice for my exercise.( Walking, SP video, Tai Chi video, swimming. )

For my fun exercise this week, I pulled out some old Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies videos that I used to do as a kid with my mom! They were so much fun, and even though I know I didn't burn a ton of calories I looked forward to doing them so I might continue! My other fun thing that I did last week was water aerobics. Again, not a ton of calories burned but it got me to the gym and I did other swimming and exercises while I was there.

I tried the 12 minute low impact aerobics video from Acacia on SP, and it was fun, too!

Day 21 of my 30 minute cardio streak!!!

WEEK #3 UPDATE:

1. I tried the Spark People "16-Minute Bollywood Cardio Workout", I simply set my kitchen timer for 10 minutes and then started to dance. It was over TOO SOON!! I wanted more. Thus, my decision for doing something fun was an easy one. (DANCE)

2.My FUN consisted of the Spark People 14-Minute Cardio Dance Workout. Any kind of music and dance puts a smile on my face and makes me FEEL GOOD.

3. Good to have something to share her emoticon e.

I tried the Lori Metcalf Low-impact Aerobic workout and loved it for when I couldn't walk outside. Some of the steps confused me but more practice with it will fix that right up.

Added coach Nicole's 20 minute resistance bands video. Enjoyed it actually. I really love my resistance bands. I can't do them 2 days in a row so will try Shawn Ts rockin body video which I am afraid to try because I think it is probably too strenuous, but will give it a go anyway because it might be fun. I'll just do what I can.

Been thinking about things I can add to make this work. This week will be wall push ups as many as I can do then a 10 min walk and then wall push ups again. Now here is the thing. Each day I have to do at least one more push up then I did the day before.

Hi all,

I have been consistently working out with leslie sansome walk at home videos. I can do the 2 mile walk without a sweat so I am bumping up to the three mile walk tomorrow. Finished with week three. I have been doing strength exercises using videos on the site which are great. I recommend the resistance band workouts. they are doable and challenging.

I guess I'm doing pretty well as I'm already doing the action steps for this week. I previously joined the 28 day bootcamp challenge, so I'm getting a different video done everyday. I also started a 5K walking program, so each cardio workout has something slightly different.

This week, I added the 14-minute basic yoga video to my daily routine. It's so short, but it makes me feel so great! Also, it has shown me muscles I didn't know I had! I have a 3-day guest pass at a local gym, so I went there yesterday and used 3 different machines: the recumbent bike, the elliptical, and the treadmill. I created a new playlist for my Zombie, Run! workouts too. I found my jump rope, but I need some practice before I can really add it to my workout regimen.

I missed my morning workout today and now I'm sitting here instead of working out. I know I should just get up and pop in a workout video; but there is this whiny, little voice saying "I just don't want to". Maybe I'll go for a walk. That usually makes me feel better after a few minutes.

This is the end of week 3. I have done at least 10 minutes every day. I also did several exercise videos from SP this week. I will continue to do more of them. I still do not "LOVE" exercise but I know I can do at least 10 minutes which usually gets me doing more.

I really like the workout videos on SP. Great way to get in some time working out with an exercise Coach without leaving my home. Guided exercise has always produced best results for me.

Week three went fine. I did a minimum of 10 minutes each day, usually more. My favorite thing this week? Teaching some teenagers at my church how to do a couple of the VBS songs that I have been learning. They have a lot of movement. We presented the most active song at an awards night program. I can keep up just fine with those young whipper snappers. lol.

Using this challenge as a motivator; whenever I don't feel like working out I just tell myself all I need is 10 minutes a day and I'm set. I workout on my wii 30-40 minutes everyday expect Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, and I walk about 2 miles everyday. This week I've lost 1.6 pounds and all I've changed is how much I work out.

Well Week 3 was difficult- 2 sick kids and stomach flu made it hard to get exercise in especially since all I really wanted was to sleep.

Finally better yesterday and did my 25 minutes of cardio but no weights. I'm ready for week 4 and just started at my local gym ( mothers day present from hubby)- hoping to try a few new things with both weights and classes.

Well I just finished my week three. I really enjoy the workout videos on this site, I used quite a few of them in week one and the start of week two but with my back spasm they proved to be too much for me. I have been walking for at least 10 minutes every day to get my fitness in.

I really like the 10 minute workout videos on this site. I also have a lot of fun practicing softball with my daughter, when the weather's nice.

I have everyday I feel better and better. It is getting easier to do most things that was very difficult for me to do. It is also fun figuring out how to put in exercise in my daily routines like cleaning. Ready for week 4. Lets go!

During week three I continued to explore more fitness options. I've had tons of fun perusing YouTube for exercise videos, and have found some really fun as well as some really challenging workouts to add to my SP daily workouts. Because I have gained so much strength and flexibility, I have also been having a blast by cranking up the music and dancing my way through my housework, sometimes doing more dancing than housework! In fact, I did so many "dancing squats" two days ago that my butt still hurts!

I finished week 3 today. I still stop either 2 or 3 times a day to do my physical therapy exercises. I have been going for formal physical therapy 2x/wk and additional exercise 2x/week in heated pool. The stormy weather has made pool time more precious than ever. Next week visitors will be a new challenge to workout around. I'm determined to emoticon . emoticon

I'm getting in my 10 minutes of exercise each day, but I'm not doing the Wii daily...
If I'm going in the wrong direction, I'm turning around! I WILL establish the Wii habit! It HELPS me stay limber each day... why do I resist something I KNOW helps? ARG!
I hate when I play mind games with ME! LOL!
SO glad SP allows me the freedom to start over... even if it is daily! emoticon
One step, one habit, one success at a time!

Step into the unknown with confidence! Trust that in the darkness of that first step there will either be something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly!
Nothing tastes as good as living with less pain feels!
