Finding it a little easier to 'make the time' for exercise. Like starting my day with 10 minutes of Coach Nicole - after that is all good :) emoticon

I have tried quite a few of the SP workouts and I really enjoy them! Added something fun in for the week and that was almost an hour of family "Just Dance" for the WII. I also just bought a pedometer. I thought it would be fun to see how many steps I take a day. Week three was a little difficult for me. I am a stress eater and the stress was definitely trying to get the best of me this week. We lost a wonderful lady in my family...my grandmommy. She raised me since I was six. Now both my moms are in heaven emoticon . Even more reason for me to get healthy! Have a great weekend everyone.

Begged off exercise completely last night. I had the worst headache. I should have gone, though. It wouldn't have made my headache any worse. No more exercise planned until Saturday and Sunday, when we go to our orienteering competition in Texas. already looking forward to getting back on tract next week.

Last night was pilates and 20 minutes on the stationary bike. Pilates nearly wore me out, but I felt great after pressing on and putting in another 20 minutes on the bike. Tonight I'm doing 2 miles on the treadmill, with 5 minutes on the elliptical for warm-up. Then I'll do my strength training and 10 minutes on the bike for cool-down.

I did 35 minutes of cardio yesterday, but cut my workout short before the strength training. I just felt so exhausted. Tonight is Pilates, followed by 20 minutes on the stationary bike.

Today is cardio and strength training. I usually work out on Sundays, too, but my in-laws were coming over for dinner. I spent most of the day on my feet cleaning and cooking, though, so I know I burned at least some extra calories. Week three is starting out strong!

Things got off to an intense start on Monday with over 18 inches of snow on ground. I took the challenge as a way to practice some of my strength training exercises plus I got in one hour of intense cardio while shoveling snow. It took an hour to dig my car out as well as my daughter's car. The fun part was it reminded me when I used to love to play in the snow as a kid. I definitely felt a shift in my attitude about shoveling snow and exercise in general. I enjoyed it which is really big for me!

emoticon emoticon emoticon

I continued on the rest of the week with two visits to the gym and walking. I've complete six sessions now with the personal trainer and she said I'm definitely making progress!

To add more variety to my routine I have begun utilizing stretches. It limbers me up more for my normal routine but also gives me time to get psyched up for it as well. I have also been more of a loner when it comes to exercise but have recently made it more of a time to bond more with my kids. It keeps me motivated and gives us some quality time as well. They especially love playing horse at the hoops and going for walks, so these have become a couple of staple exercises we do together.

Hello!

I now walk in place while at work, I walk anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes making sure I move my arms.

I have discovered that I love, really love, being out doors. I am spending more time outside walking around my yard (I have a fenced in acre) with my dogs. Dogs are listening better now too!

I'm quite a bit late with this. I'll be brief: I've tried the Leslie Sansone walking workouts. They're surprisingly fun and of course, easy to do, since I CAN walk.
I walk loops upstairs and down. I sometimes add walking backwards.

I actually made my workout a little more fun by asking my hubby to do it with me! I feel so accomplished when we finish our workout and he smiles and tells me great job and throws a high five. Definitely took my mind off the "this is a chore" mentality!

This was my last day on week 3. I made it, but Sunday and today were a struggle to get motivated for some reason. Still, I got in at least 20 min. a day and walked at least a mile every weekday at work. This week I tried a couple of new things, including a bit of Zumba and a bit of Pilates. Besides walking every day, I'm also using the treadclimber at least 4 days a week for 20 min., and am doing some strength training using free weights and ball.
Now I graduate to week 4! Hurrah! emoticon

It took me two weeks to complete week 3...but I did exercise at least 10 minutes per day 5 days a week as I worked through.

I like Coach NIcole's seated resistance band workout and will be using it regularly.

And I've saved the 30 days of fitness ideas in case I get to a point where I want something new.

I had a hard time motivating myself to walk Sunday afternoon. These words kept running through my head: 'I'm cold'...'I'm tired'...'I'll do it a little later'...'the weather's really bad'...'missing a day won't hurt'...
I finally answered back : 'JUST DO IT!'
(and so I did)
And afterwards I felt much better!!!

Week 3 under my belt…and I mean under my belt. I have started wearing a belt with my jeans because they have started slipping down. My husband has told me to get some new ones because the ones I am wearing are baggy. I told him I not going to buy anything until I have reached single digit size. My baggy jeans don’t bother me…at least right now…they are my medal of honor. Besides, going shopping is going to be one of my rewards
.
This challenge has been wonderful. I started with the 10 minutes a day for 5 days. I have worked up to walking 1 mile a day every day. I have also incorporated 15 minutes of strength training 3 days a week and 30 minutes of cardio at least 3 days a week.

I have found a number of videos on SparkPeople that I like. They make my workouts fun and give me a variety. Coach Nicole’s videos are my favorite.

I am feeling better and stronger. I am also looking good. I am excited and ready to get started on Week 4.

My first day of week 3 and I'm off to a good start. 30 minutes of Wii Fitness Advanced Step Aerobics plus a few minutes of beginner running and some balance exercises. Then I took Diablo (our dog) for a walk around the pasture which added another 20 minutes. Weekends are best for me as I have more time. I've decided not to get down on myself during the week when some nights I only manage 10 minutes. After all, 10 minutes is my goal!

Wise choices each day will get me where I want to be.

Nasty weather and a nasty cold slowed me down a little this week, but I'm still hanging in there. I'm using videos to get my 10 minutes of exercise at least once a day - sometimes twice a day.

10 minutes a day is a great way to keep exercise in mind. Getting started is the hardest so doing "only" 10 minutes is motivational. Then once started, it is easy to do more! This is a great tip and gets me over the "how can I find time to exercise?" excuse.

This has been (so far) such an eye-opening challenge for me. At least 10 minutes a day. Sounded so silly at 1st (I mean, really, what is 10 minutes going to do??). I have been very surprised at the creative ways that can be 'fit in' and how good I feel simply focusing on getting at LEAST that much into a day. I have been lingering on the weeks. Not moving on until I'm sure I've got it. I think I'm ready for stage 4 now. YAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started from a place of being VERY out of shape and overweight, with adrenal problems limiting how much I can exert myself. I've been walking daily and also doing T-Tapp rehabilitative program several times a week. I'm feeling stronger and the stretching aspect of T-Tapp has made me feel more agile.

I am excited to be on week 3 of my streak. Setting small goals but going for consistency is working great for me. In the past I have set goals of 30 minutes 3 times a week, and then quit when I had a few days I couldn't find 30 minutes. Now I make myself do at least ten, and I often end up doing 30 or more.

Wise choices each day will get me where I want to be.
