Hoping my neighborhood roads are clear of ice so I can squeeze in a run after work before having to attend a meeting... otherwise I'll go on the treadmill.

My 'fun' activity this week is painting my new 'guest' room that my daughter moved out of. After an hour of painting two nights in a row, I went to bed with sore muscles in every part of my body! I had no idea painting would be such a good workout. I cant wait to do some more tonight!!!!

I am taking week 3 very carefully. I trained hard for, and completed the Surf City Marathon, and I am SORE today. I am still out walking at least 10 minutes per day, including today. As long as I avoid the stairs I am okay. In order to get my 10 minutes or more per day this week, I am foregoing the car and using the Metro.

I did some exercise videos about 3 days a week. I like the walking videos with Leslie Sansone. I have also done a couple SP videos as well.
Doing pretty well with the 10 minutes a day. I have worked up to about 20-30 minutes a day now.

In the last 2 weeks I have managed to get in 30 min. of planned walking 4 to 5 times a week.
The other days I get in about 10 min. straight of walking, and the rest is my normal activities. I do not sit till lunch time.

I've managed to get in at least 10 minutes of walking daily these past 3 weeks, as well as extra walking when we get a bus that goes a slightly different route in the mornings... managed some strength training too, which is going to be increased this next week!

Happy, happy, happy!

Feeling much healthier, still walking with Leslie Samsone. When I start I keep telling myself you can do it you can do it, just walk-walk-walk emoticon

And when I'm done and realize that I just did 2 miles, I'm proud of my self and all pumped up emoticon Then I fell like I can do anything, as long as I take it one step at a time.

Everyone is doing so great, with the Dancing and the Walking, and even an elliptical trainer, emoticon emoticon

I was at school yesterday and rather than using my planning period to just sit there and read I got up and walked 4 times around the whole school building that added up to 20 min. of walking and it was pleasant. emoticon

You can tell yourself that you have already decided, that nothing now can stop you, but if that step backwards is so much safer than step forwards, what will hold you true to your path when the going gets tough? Sometimes, the right thing to do is to take that first irreversible step, the one after which you cannot go back. And now, for you, is one of those times.

Today was a little out of the ordinary with exercise. I worked in Special Ed. and if you ever have worked with challenged kids you know how demanding physically it can be. I took the idea of playing with the kids to a new level for me. I raced them while they walked trying to get them to walk faster. I took the exercise ball and did squats with them and we threw the ball back and forth. You know I think that I had fun. But then come home and conked out for about 30 min. on the couch. Well anyway it was fun. Then the other 3 days this week I went to Curves. We did not have Zumba this week so I really missed it. We will have it next week. I hope everyone is surviving the snow. It missed us this time. Keep exercising!!!!!
