I do like to exercise, but my knee is still dictating how much I can take. Still, I'm moving more than I was a month ago!

I printed the calendar to help with getting workouts in. I seem to think that if I can't make time for a workout video, then I should just sit on the couch and play on the computer. I've lot a little bit of weight since joining SP a couple weeks ago, so I must be doing something right, and I hope to keep going on the right track.

I have been doing very well at fitting in walking activity throughout the day. I have become very aware of the length of time I am sitting without moving and now I get up and move. Even if it's just walking circles around the dividing wall for my kitchen and family room. I go outside two or three times a day and take a 15 or 20 minute walk and have been averaging about 50-55 minutes a day of walking. Going up and down the stairs seems easier for me now and I contribute that towards getting more exercise. I am also doing small amounts of strength training two or three times a week. I believe my health is improving along the way and am enjoying being more active.

Feeling good at the end of week two! I have to admit I have joined this challenge a few times before only to lose my resolve rather quickly. This time not only did I exercise every day but I found myself enjoying how I felt afterwards which created excitement for exercising the next day. One significant difference this time was planning ahead. On the days I was really busy, I knew I had to get it done in the morning or else no excuses for not getting it done late in the day. As I move forward I will add some SP videos to my arsenal so I can squeeze in exercise in any environment.

also went thru tub of papers - shredded.. and a bag of clothes to donate and found a ton of aprons from long ago - the kids used to work at a restaurant that went out of business and got them for me - I am going to dye them and give them to my spinning group - fiber spinning on a wheel

Week two brought me more opportunities to move. We went camping and our dog likes to walk around the campground as often as possible so I said yes to many trips. Nothing at any high level but at least 5 times a day for two days. I also involved myself in more of the camp set up that my husband would otherwise do. Bending and lifting here and there.

During the week I also did some exercises to help tightening my butt and thighs when getting out of bed and before heading off to the shower. Easy time for me to fit it in and takes about 5 minutes. emoticon

Starting week 2 and noticed today that I have walked/jogged 22 miles in the past 3 weeks since I joined SparkPeople. Super excited! :)

I'm finishing week 2, and I love how the energy builds each day with the increases of activity levels. The first week I pretty much did Wii for 15-40 minutes per day, and that was great. This week has been 1 or 1.5 miles almost daily, and definitely at least 15 minutes per day of sustained activity. This feels so good.

I am feeling better since I started this challenge. I have done 6,000 steps/day every single day for 13 days and I alternated running for 30min and doing an exercise DVD at least 6 days/week. this challenge is keeping me motivated, I also was inspired to review my rosetta stone Spanish lessons on my phone while walking. :-)

Hi All,

Hope all of you are well and getting your exercise in.

Got in cardio and lower body work today. Cut it a bit short to meet some friends I haven't seen in a while. Going to ease up on my workouts a bit. Found yesterday, I spent 3+ hours in the gym. Yes I was tired afterwards, but then I thought, this is too much for me. So trying a new approach. Aiming for 1 - 1.5 hours of total gym time. Will let you know in a couple weeks how that's working out for me. I read an article about being too tired, or cranky and felt like it was talking to me.

Hope all of you are moving forward...we're in this together and together WE ROCK!

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Hey Everyone,

Sounds like all of you are getting some great workouts in. Being tired from your workouts is a good thing. Shows you're putting forth the effort to achieve your goals. Just be sure not to overdo a good thing...know what I mean?

Got in 10,000 + steps yesterday for the 1st time with my Spark Activity Tracker. I've had it synced up for 3 days now and I was surprised and pleased with my results. And with that said I'm off to the gym for some cardio and upper body work.

Til the next time, just keep doing all you can and be grateful...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Thanks for the welcome back Dell and glad to hear you're keeping up with your workouts.

Got in 30 minutes of cardio and 15+ minutes of upper body work today. Had to cut it short...DW's birthday is tomorrow and her Dad was coming in today to bring her gift. Told her I'd be home from the gym before he got there...and I was...phew!

Hope all of you are keeping your workouts going...just remember, every 10 minutes counts...just keep doing it and it becomes a really good for you habit, not a punishment.

Take care all

Hello All,

Been absent a couple weeks, but still getting the workouts in. Today was 50 minutes of cardio and 55+ minutes of lower body work.

How's everyone doing? Getting your workouts in? Liath_J, still walking your dog and getting the housework done? Keep us informed. I'll try to do a better job of keeping on top of my emails. It just seems the days slip away before you know it. As most of you will agreee to.

Have a great end to your week-end and keep on moving forward...

The two goals I chose for this week were to walk my dog for at least 10 minutes a day and to spend 20-30 minutes cleaning my house. I accomplished both of these - mostly. One day, I had to take my friend for a walk, because my husband was camping with the dog...
