I am so glad I joined this challenge. It is really helping me to get back into my active mode. I am really progressing so much better in my dance class, getting back to my walking and starting walking flights of steps is hard but I keep pushing on. so I am good with where I am at right now and plan to continue on.

We have 3 courses near us (google search). 2 are at reservoirs, all are mildly hilly and mildly wooded (oak trees). Tons of fun, easy to learn, and a great way to visit with others while getting in your exercise. When we went last summer we followed a round of golf with a pic nic and quick swim. The course is much easier in these cooler temps. You can buy a set of disks (like golf clubs) but we are just using mid-range disks for beginners and using the same one for all throws. I'm not very competitive so this is fine for me. It's also nice that the discs can be as cheep as $10-$15 so not a big investment, easy to take when you travel, and easy to replace if you loose it in high grass or launch it into a tall tree

Michelle,
Disk golf? Heard of it, seen it on TV but never tried it. Sounds like you got in some pretty good exercise.

Off to the gym in a few; some cardio and upper body strength training.

3 hours of disk golf on a very hill terrain. Feeling proud...we did 16 holes today, 3 more than last week :-)

That's what I found out really early on with the SparkPeople website. So much positive emotion, and so many people helping from all over the world. Also great to not see a bunch
of negativity. It truly has gotten better my last 7 months here.

My favorite exercise is walking, so I start the day by putting on my shoes and heading out the door. I use a pedometer to keep track. To add some extra steps, I go a block further; to add intensity, I pick up the pace a bit.
This time of year, I get in extra activity by shopping, cleaning, cooking and decorating.
And I make sure to drink my water. It adds a lot of steps running back and forth to the bathroom!

Some days are easier than others, especially this time of year. I've been having problems trying to squeeze everything in, get my workouts done and get the rest we all need for the holidays.

Hope all of you are well and moving forward...

Nancy, I can only agree with you and Dell... Sodium is the big trick for me to stay under. I don't know how some people keep it down so low. I'm trying for 2300 mg per day and I usually don't make that. How to keep it under 1500? Like you said Nancy, salt is lurking everywhere...and heaven help me if I want chili. That's a sodium bomb!

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Helen,

Go down your nutrition page until you see add more nutrients on the right side of your page, under what you already have listed and you should be able to pick and choose what you want to be reported and show up! If you refresh your page they should show up after you select them.

I don't use salt either, but there is hidden salt in can goods, in dry mixes you use, and sometimes in what you drink. Salt is literally lurking everywhere!

I pray that this has helped you!

Blessings!

So far - so good! Exception is where I have questions re sodium (I don't use salt AT ALL!), potassium and magnesium (I eat potassium rich foods and magnesium rich foods normally - but this is NOT showing up on my sparkdiet nutrition page!)

So far this week I've ridden my stationary bike for 15-30 minutes a day. I've also adjusted my the seat of my car so that I sit up straighter(this has been a challenge since I tend to slid down in my seat) and I've stopped using a shopping cart unless I'm buy 20 or more items.

How has everyone else week 2 been going?
