Hi, everybody!

I actually started the 'Official 10-Minute Daily Exercise Streak Challenge' on Wednesday, July 23, before I even knew there was team (and I want my trophy), LOL! So, now I am catching up!

My Goals, briefly: In addition to a basic 10 minutes of INTENTIONAL EXERCISE daily (which has three components - cardio, strength, family), I'm also streaking 30 minutes of DECLUTTERING daily, and waking up at 6:00 AM DAILY.

After the high of last week, this week was 'rubber meets the road'. I was invited to stop streaking by circumstances beyond my control, I had my first day of "I don't wanna," and I had my first day of self-doubt (what the h3ck makes me think I can do this)... and I kept streaking right through all of it.

I also had some unexpected victories: I've started waking up before the alarm, I had company over for coffee (finally ready to let people back n to my house), felt the encouragement and support of people who love me, got a sense of accountability in action (if I hadn't made a plan for tracking this streak - told people, daily picture/blog - I may have quit), guilt and shame are fading into the past, and I discovered I can exercise A LOT longer than I originally thought... WHOO HOO!!!

So now, while my goal remains 10 minutes of exercise daily, I am going to try do 30 minutes on the rebounder every day plus strength training... I have found an exercise I LOVE (rebounder), and can do for the rest of my life... the possibilities will grow with my improving fitness level.

My strength is improving quickly.

I move more in general... I want to move more... I feel energized, much more alert, and am much less easily overwhelmed emotionally.

My BIG take away: "Ask yourself if you can do this again tomorrow, If the answer is no, then stop." I resisted the temptations to go all out 100% of the time, which allowed me to continue the next day. I'm learning where the Iine is with respect to where I can push, and when I must respect my current limitations.

All in all, another GREAT week!

Fourteen days down, and a lifetime to go (at long last that doesn't intimidate me)!

If you're interested, you can read the details of my week and what I've learned so far (A LOT), here (I've committed to blogging daily for my first month):

Dr. Jason Fung: "Holy consensus, Batman. With so many 'experts' from Michelle Obama to the USDA to virtually all of the medical professionals (including doctors and dieticians) agreeing that 'Eat Less, Move More' is the way to go, you might think that it is 100% unquestionably true. But here's a queer thought... if we all agree that we know the cure for obesity, and we've spent billions on educations and programs - why are we getting fatter? In other words, why does this 'cure' suck so bad?
