I enjoyed last weeks challenges and looking forward to the second week!!!
I was treated to alot of new workout toys by my hubby...a new stationary bike w/electronic calculations, an AbCircle Pro, a mini Trampoline with resistant bands and electronic calculations, Ab Rocket, 2 punching bags w/gloves (50 lbs and 90 lbs) with stand, and a ping pong table w/accessories!!! I plan to use everything into my program this week as well as the existing equipment I have (treadmill and complete body resistant gym)

The calendar is so helpful! I have been parking in the farthest parking spot where ever I go. I have been gardening everyday I don't use my elliptical, and I strength train everyday with the fitness generator. So far so good!

Thank goodness for this challenge. After the first week of anything, my interest usually flags - but not this time. Interest is high, even if results are a little slow. Just call me "Turtle". I've used some of these in the past, like parking farthest from the door to work/store/home. Though not always viable now, doing this as much as possible. I've also stopped asking for things to be gotten for me, and am getting off my backside to get it myself!

I've been taking the stairs instead of the elevator. When I have time at work that might normally be sedentary and involve me just standing there, I've been stretching, doing wall push ups, etc. My co-workers have caught on to this and we all bought 5 lb. weights to do exercises together at the top of every hour.

The calendar suggestions were very helpful.I started using a pedometer and just clipping it on every morning motivates me to walk more.I like the marching in place, while watching TV too.

You are all so inspiring!

I've been succeeding at sticking to my exercise routine. Even on my days off, I go for a nice easy walk.

I'm going to try to walk around my workplace more this week. (i sit a lot) and more trips up and down the stairs at home dropping off laundry etc.

Thank you all for posting here. It keeps me going!

I am progressing well through this challenge. I have incorporated exercise into my busy schedule by walking during free time at work. I walk around the building in the morning and at lunchtime 10 - 15 minutes each time. At home, I use my stairs as a step stool and do step aerobics for about 10 minutes.

Start each day with a smile. End each day without stress.

I'm cruising right along with Week Two of this Challenge; keeping up with at least ten minutes of exercise, at least five days a week. Mostly it ends up being at least 30 minutes.

A couple of things I've done this week to add a little Spark to my exercise routine is to 1. at my office, deliver the mail separately to each recipient's desk (grab the mail, take it someone's desk, come back to my desk, get mail for the next person, etc.); 2. at the mall, after I was done with my errands, took another complete, uninterrupted loop before heading back to my car; 3. during me and my husband's ballroom dance class, I kept moving and practicing the steps, even when the teacher stopped to give instructions.

Just keep trying to think up things that keep me moving!

Almost finished week 2, and I find I'm exercising 20 to 25 minutes per day!! I really like the suggestion of marching in place while watching TV. Think I'm going to give that one a try.

snuck in a core workout on the exercise ball in the office already this rnorning. i use the exercise ball for my desk chair. i've been walking down 13 flights of steps for weeks now when i leave, but my knee is hurting now when i do, so i'm not sure what's going on. i really don't want to take the elevators.

Instead of sitting and watching tv, I've been marching in place and doing some ST. Also, I've spent more time this week playing outside in the snow with the grandkids.

i've been sneaking in my 10 minutes of strength, tone, and stretch in my office. i work at a computer all day, but i've been standing while i work almost the entire day. yesterday. i just swayed subtly while standing, and my inner thighs were sore by the end of the day. i'm also throwing in a stretch or 2 every once in a while. it's delightful.

This week I will continue my routine but will add atleast 2 days of walking at the end of class with my student who needs a good transition activity before his next class and he enjoys the walk with me and the exercise. We are going to make it a routine part of his class with me. I will also commit to decluttering and cleaning while talking on the phone at home.

I downloaded the calendar with the 30 days of activities. I'm choosing the dishwashing activity but adding to it a 30 day housecleaning plan. Each day you tackle a particular job like washing the inside of your windows with vinegar and newspaper or cleaning out the hall linen closet. After 30 days you have a more organized clean home. Plus, I'm adding the dance activity. I'm making up a playlist from some of my iTune favorites. If anyone out there has played Dance Central, you have a new appreciation for how much fun and how great dancing is for exercise. Unfortunately I don't have Dance Central but watch videos of it on YouTube. Soooo fun!

Parked farther away when going to the store. Played and ran in the snow in big, heavy boots with the kids. Have been doing wall push-ups just here and there just because. I feel very good about how week 2 went. A couple of slips, but several successes and I didn't give up when I had a slip. Ready to start week 3!

Finished with Week Two!! I parked farther away when I had the opportunity so I could walk farther. I haven't taken an elevator or escalator (except in places where there is nothing but an escalator) in about a month! I always take the stairs now everywhere I go. Also, while I sit at my desk, I'll move around and maybe pick up some 3lb free weights and start doing some bicep curls here and there. I've definitely found new ways of putting in more exercise in my days this week!!! Ready for week three!!! Halfway there!

Well made it through week 1, and I am feeling awesome!

I am ready to start week 2 and have my plan all laid out!
We have to incorporate 2 activities from the calender in the article, I have chosen:
~~~Spend 5-10 minutes exercising in the morning before showering..I will do this 4 days.
~~~Tune the Body was the next one I chose..I will march in place during Commercials 2 day this week, on being during the Biggest Loser show, the other I will pick..don't really watch alot of TV any way..

Next we had to find to extra activities..
I have chosen Car Dancing..I love to dance anyway, and this one gives an excuse to be silly in the car!
The other one I have chose was Getting Ready..I will do some leg lifts, squats, lunges, calf raises, pushups on the sink..while getting ready for work in the mornings, this I will do every day.

So let's get week 2 started!!!

This week was a great week for me. I think the fact that I am signed up for a 10 mi race in May is keeping me motivated to get to the gym. I'm still taking the elevator, but whenever I study, I make sure to tap my feet along to the beat of whatever song I'm listening to. Down 3 lbs this week!

Just starting week 2
putting the shopping trolley away is a good one

keeping your rinsing water from the dishes and "lugging" out the 2 litre bottles to water the garden rather than just standing with the hose.(Explanation: I have a water tank and am not on mains so it is waterwise as well)

My Resolution for this year was to get at least 10 minutes of activity everyday, no excuses & I've been doing great with it & this Challenge!
I found that without really even trying I do around 19 of the 30 Days to an Active Lifestyle, which totally amazed me!

Into week 2 and I am continuing to aim at a balance between 10 - 15 minutes exercising "on the floor. ie I view the videos, explore the huge variety of exercises offered and print out those that catch my eye as a reference and to provide myself with variations away from the "usual familiar routines. Also do the same with the "Daily exercise" ( filters)
Am well established into my routine of at least one walk daily and where my housework-gardening involves "hard" physical work ... include these as legit exercises.

Every day when fully lived- is a grand succession of experiences both pleasant and unpleasant - for life is made up of both- and without the one the other would not be recognized or appreciated.

I would much rather have regrets about not doing what people said, than regretting what my heart led me to and wondering what life had been like if I had just been myself.

I started walking to Uni which adds 30 minutes exercise to my day and also saves me so much money.

Week two - managed a couple days of over 10,000 steps! Aiming for just 10 minutes of exercise lets me feel like I'm meeting my goal and exceeding it.

starting week 2 today, February 1, and had to weigh in...lost nothing for my first week which is very discouraging. I went from doing no exercise and eating anything I wanted to doing 30 minutes of exercise a day and strictly watching my calories to see the same results that I had thru doing nothing at all and eating larger portions. I'm not going to give up though...I'm going to keep going with the program but I'm not sure about weighing in every week...when I see this kind of result it makes me want to give up because it seems useless. Maybe I should weigh once a month instead...

I've started week 2 yesterday, Jan 31, and am feeling good. Had 60 min of aerobics yesterday and 30 min of toning today.

I'm feeling good ! I know we can all do this !

Oh Great Spirit who dwells in the sky, lead us to the path of peace and understanding. Our lives are so short here, walking upon Mother Earth's surface. Let our eyes be opened to all the blessings you have given us. Please hear our prayers, oh Great Spirit.
