We own a TV, but we only use it for gaming. No TV in this house. Much quieter and we get more stuff done and actually talk to each other. As for the computer, I find I spend more time on here now due to SP, looking up recipes, checking email, reading forums and such, but it keeps it in the front of my mind. I usually go straight to the gym after class, before I even come home and that keeps me on track.

I have started limiting my computer and tv watching. I won't let myself sit down at home till 7pm during the week and 5 on weekends. I have moved a lot more doing this. Plus my house is cleaner.

I love to have a workout while using the computer! emoticon emoticon

What I do is I watch something on Hulu or Netflix, and my earphones (is that what they're called?) have a long enough cord to listen, or I mute it and just read the captioning. All the whole time I am walking in place or using a twist disk. I would really recommend it, it you think you're coordinated enough. It's fun! emoticon emoticon

I tried to limit myself to one hour doing Spark. It didn't work. I tend to stay up past my bedtime. This is my last post for the night.

I'm constantly on the computer that's why I decided to limit myself to 1-1.5 hrs a day. I set my alarm so I know when time is up.

I find that since I have joined Spark I spend much more time on the computer! It used to take me 15 minutes in the evening to check e-mail, facebook, read the news and anything else I used to do. Now I find I spend so much time entering in my exercise and nutrition! Sometimes I have to research and calculate different recipes or foods. I have started setting up the next day the evening before but it doesn't really save me any time. I am sure it will get easier in time but right now it takes forever!

So many of us know we spend too much time on the computer. Often at night, I think "I will search just one more thing before I go to bed", and then finish up going to bed 2 hrs later than desirable. How much better for me to get to bed at 2200 and then rise earlier & have an early morning walk. I would love to have a dog to walk with, however the landlord will not allow it. Now I have a team to keep me motivated!

My computer time can't be cut back. I work around it. It definately cuts down on my stress.

I think I will add limiting my computer time as a goal as well. Seems like the past couple of weeks I have spent more time than I should on the computer.

Thanks for the tip!

I need to adopt that for the weekends! During the week I don't really have that issue. I am on the computer ALL day at work (and when I work late) so sitting in front of a computer screen isn't all that appealing unless I need to do something.

My problem is TV! I have my gazelle set up so that I can watch my programs while I get my cardio in... it is getting on it in the afternoon that is my problem.

i started limiting my compyuter time a couple of months ago.. I set a timer for how much i'd like to spend.. ex: 30 minutes... once the timer goes off... I'm done... and i walk away.. i do this for in the morning and evening.. really prevents lollygagging around and wasteing time.. I get what i need to do DONE and move one.

If I don't get in my walking or exercise before I plop down in front of the TV or the computer - it doesn't get done. I don't get home from work until usually 6, so dinner & a walk (or walk then dinner) has to happen first or I turn into a couch potato. Not good when my goal is to look less like a potato emoticon

Today is a good day to make it a great day!

My goal for this month is to reduce the amount of time that I spend on the computer. I often get home from work very tired. After eating dinner, I'll plop myself in front of the computer and go to various web sites all evening. Then I complain I'm "too tired" to exercise.

I'm going to start not allowing myself to go on the computer until 8:45 or 9. I'll still get to my sites, but I won't waste all evening there. Maybe in addition to more exercise, I'll get things done around the house too.
