Thanks for the suggestions on what to eat when eatingout ZoomZoom1231.

Well week one is officially done! I'll be making a discussion in week 2 part of the forums in this group. Week one has had it's ups and downs, but it does kind of prove to myself that I can exercise every day.

if eating out is a problem choice a salad with turkey, no cheese, no croutons, and only oil and vinegar types dressings, lots of veggies, maybe a side of soup.

We all have washes, so don't be concerned about it. It's okay! You've identified a bit of a problem, when you claimed your ash, and the fact the your DH will be going back to work and it would be easier for you. You go, young lady! When you identify whatever it is, you'll know how to eliminate it or restrain it, and move on! Keep up the good work!!!

Well week one in this group is almost done. Finished some strength training with weights, squats and crunches. Weekends are always tough food wise, and today is what I call a wash. Tomorrow is the week, and my husband is back at work, so I'll do better then.

There are other exercises that you can do to increase your caloric expenditure, maybe get the family involved too. Search the exercise resources library for a few. emoticon emoticon emoticon

To crave sweets and use fruit to appease it is terrific !!!!!!!! JUST don't eat fruit around the clock. Fruit does have CALORIES 2-3 servings is enough but ask your Doctor to be sure!!! What type of fruit you take could be a caloric problem like comparing apples to oranges look for or ask your Doctor?????? emoticon

I DID THE SAME FOR SALT! Two weeks I did nor eat but, a little salt that was unavoidable. Now I find that most food has too much salt !!!!!!!!!!!! My Doctor is Happy my bp is 130-40/70-80 since I had COPD AND CHF; at that time I was 210/130 I should of been dead both my Doctor love me.

You have joined what I think is the best group / forum on SP. Everyone is so supportive on here that you don't want to leave.

Remember that it is 10 minutes a day, so does not have to be done all together but when you can. This to start makes it addictive that you want to do more like one more minute.

May I make a suggestion, I also had a severe sugar addiction; I was asked to mark the Calendar for two week's and for those 2 weeks I did not have anything sweet. I could have 1 pre- sweetened item a day when the 2 weeks were finished; I found that my craving was gone. I was told as long as I ate anything with sugar in it the craving would never go away!!! Well! I do cheat once in a while but rarely; I AM IN CONTROL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thanks for the welcome COLOR BLUE, which just so happens to be my favorite color. The walk the pounds away certainly does get my heart pumping. I will try those half-steps on our next family walk.

To: Captain thanks for the welcome too. Good job on eating fruit. I love fruit myself, it's the vegetables that I have issues with. I grew up where you only had veggies at dinner, only one kind, and it's been difficult to break that habit.

emoticon for being in the mode of cutting back that sugar. Once you cut it back an you start getting all of your sugar through natural sources, you'll feel so much better! Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!

You did the best thing that you could ever do for your life, and I for one am so delighted to see you here! It's so cool that your doing Leslie's WATP! I do her DVDs, also. I have at least 15 of them and she really does work me out, and I'm sure she does the same to you.

When you're out walking with your toddler, dry what the Army called half- stepping. SO instead of taking one regular you take 2 half steps, this may help you get a better workout with your little one. If that doesn't work, just keep shortening the step, but you're really working harder, just to stay with your baby.

Just continue to post here, so you can have people see your accomplishments and give you the encouragement that you need, or maybe a kick in the behind, to get you moving. It works both ways, and it's always done in love!

Yesterday was not a good day due to company etc. but today i did well. I did have 1 serving of donut holes, slowly cutting the sugar back. Had fresh cherries in the evening rather than 4 or 5 pieces of hard candy I had been doing. One step at a time emoticon emoticon

hi all,

I joined spark people couple days ago and thought this would be a great group to kick start an exercise routine. I'm mostly doing Walk Away The Pounds 1 mile which I started this past Friday. I also do a nightly walk with family, though it's much slower paced due to walking alongside the short legs of a toddler. emoticon

Anyways this is my start in this group. I just finished my workout for the day and I'm relaxing. Hardest part for me is staying motivated.
