It took me two weeks, but I reached my week one goals and am moving on to week two. I am up to 25 minutes of walking at 2.5 mph, then some upper body work at the gym. I also have gotten my goal of drinking 8 cups of water a day. (I carry a liter of water with me at all times. Two of those per day gives me my quota and it doesn't seem as difficult as 8 cups!)

Now that I have my 8 cups of water each day, I've started using SP's menus. I've convinced my kids that we should all be eating healthy, so they have agreed to stick to SP's menus along with me. Now all I have to do is convince my hubby and we're all set.

Keep Sparking everyone!

Hello Everyone,

Been absent a month from the thread, but been working out every day. How's everyones' workouts going? I'm sure you're all hitting it like rock starts!

Off to the gym now for some cardio and upper body work. Been stuck on a weight plateau for the past 2 months and trying to break through. Any ideas would be helpful...

Til next time...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Went from having a cold, getting over that, then my back started acting up late Saturday. Haven't missed a workout, just toned it down, stayed away from anything too heavy or put too much strain on my back and kicked the cardio up quite a bit. Today, it's feeling almost 100% so I'm happy about that.

So SKSUTTON, How are your goals going? Are you achieving? Don't worry if you're not hitting 100%, you're trying and that's the hardest part of the battle.

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Dell, Nancy Jean, thanks for the thoughts of concern, but I don't exceed my limits. From that movie " A man's got to know his limitations..." I just kicked it back up a notch. But it is greatly appreciated.

Got in my cardio and lower body work today. It's been kind of a hectic day, so I'm off for a shower, some dinner, a little TV and bed time...

Hope all of you are getting your workouts in.

Have a great week-end...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Dwayne,

I don't worry! I learned from a friend what it really means to worry. I a person who is concerned, as I also learned what it really means to be concerned. Good Lord willing, and the creek don't rise, as my grandma us to say, we will all be here for a long time to come!

If you're not careful Dwayne, you'll be chasing those green lights on your Spark Tracker!

Blessings!

Hey All,

Off to the gym in a few...

Nancy Jean, I push it just hard enough to know I'm close to my limit. I remember someone once told me "the most brilliant diamonds are made under the greatest pressure..." I'm trying to shine and when I was sick, I still worked out, just not as intensely. Don't worry, Good Lord willing, I'll be here for a long time...

Hope all of you are getting your workouts in. Since I've gotten my Spark Tracker, I've had a few days over 10,000 steps which surprised me. Wish I'd gotten this so much sooner.

And with that I'm off...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

SK...
Glad to see you took Nancy Jean's advice. She always comes through with great ideas.

Got in my cardio and lower body work today. Really pushed it, since I feel I've been slacking off lately.

Hope all of you are keepin' it moving...

Thank you for the marching in place idea! I was actually able to start that at work today. A few minutes here, a few minutes there. :)

SKSUTTON,

I love your goal to start out with the 10 minutes every day. On the days that you don't have another fitness activity planned, you will be walking! That's a FANTASTIC start! If you have no where to walk or if you have some time in between working a piece of equipment or something, march in place, as that works wonders and you'll be SURPRISED the number of steps you get! You go, young lady! LET'S MOVE!!!

Blessings!

SKSUTTON,
Great idea and I'm sure with time you'll be doing more than 10 minutes of walking on those days you've got other activities planned. It's all good, the more you do.

I got in cardio and upper body work today, but forgot my earbuds so was without music or able to listen to the TV's on the cardio equipment. There's too much chatter and the music or TV drowns it all out and let's me "get alone in a gym full of people".

Hope to see you post often and keep us informed on how you're doing and if you've got any questions, ask away...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

emoticon Walking is always a good start. Maybe with time you'll add on either more walking time or some other form of exercise. emoticon emoticon

My goal is to keep myself moving. So, for at least ten minutes every weekday I do not have another fitness activity planned, I'm going to walk.
